Dumb. Dumb With a Cherry on Top.

The Leader of the Republican Party has a campaign manager named Kellyanne Conway.  I made a sign for her.

Okay, so it comes about that Kellyanne thinks that the reason women get raped is that we are not as strong as men.

Donald Trump’s new campaign manager said “rape would not exist” if women and men had equal physical capabilities.

“If we were physiologically — not mentally, emotionally, professionally — equal to men, if we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist,” Conway said. “You would be able to defend yourself and fight him off.”

And if I was big enough, I could stop bullets and knives with my bare hands.

Do not dumb here, girl.

Thank to Bryan for the heads up.

  1. Wyatt Earl says:

She’s going to be seriously insulted that you made her sign in English AND Arabic.

    1
  2. That’s so incredibly dumb. It looks like you made the sign too late.

Oh wait! Little Kellyanne, who doesn’t look like she could fight off a zika mosquito, just got the top spot in the anabolic steroid cartel from from her boyfriend Scumpf and she’s planning to market to women. She wants to make us look like those 1980s East German Olympians. Well be called Scumpf’s bodyguards. (Eeeeuuuuuuuw.)

  3. laurensd1 says:

So I hate to burst your gym routine bubble, Kellyanne, but your chances of using that physiological strength against a would be rapist is about as likely to happen as Trump’s wall.
You could use your whole strong package to stop clocks, traffic or make the hens quit layin’.
    Your choice.

    3
  4. and she is gonna spin herself right into whatever is down there…………

    4
  5. daChipster says:

Because nobody has been raped in a men’s prison, ever.

    5
  6. @Wyatt Earl: I think that’s Japanese Hiragana, not Arabic.

    6
  7. Chloe Bear says:

Next she will either say she was being “sarcastic” or make it worse and say women are raped because of how they dress.

    7
  8. What’s it say in Japanese?

Is it dumb, like deaf and dumb?

    8
  9. Not worth a response. However, it IS a notable birthday. Molly Ivins would have been 72. Raise a glass!

    9
  10. And if we were unicorns we could just strangle the would-be rapist with rainbows and sunbeams.

    10
  11. So how much of this crap have these idiots spouted now? I’m losing count. I remember something about legitimate rape and something about not getting pregnant. Or was it not catching std’s? So much repugnantcan learnin to remind me of how ineffective my public schoolin was. Education can’t possibly be effective if some folks aren’t profiting grotesquely by it. Charter schools to the rescue!

    11
  12. e platypus onion says:

Thanks for the reminder, Zyx. Youngest Grandgirlie’s name is Molly. I can always dream, can’t I?

    12
  13. So is this her sly way of saying ‘girls’ aren’t strong like ‘boys’, and therefore could not handle the office of president?

    13
  14. two crows says:

Yeah. Where do women get off being born in female bodies anyway? What a stupid move.

    14
  15. Tilphousia says:

Wow, that’s about as useful as the moron who said that “women can’t get pregnant from rape. Their bodies just shut down. “. Where does the rethuglican morass find these morons? Do they advertise on a special site? Do they have special idiots Googleing very low IQ sites? Oh wait! I know! They have special crystal balls with GPS read by people wearing tin foil hats. With pointy top.

    15
  16. Marcia in CO says:

Perhaps Kellyanne should look into furthering the cause for young girls who are transgender and are transitioning to males … I wonder if that would fit Kelly-OMG-anne’s mold?
I just don’t get how some of these RWNJs and be such God-awful Nut Jobs!! They are proving time and again that they are just downright stupid!!

    16
  17. JAKvirginia says:

I was in the middle of typing what I thought was profound and then I thought “Screw her” and I think that’s profound enough.

    17
  18. JAKvirginia: I’m witcha. Pogo: I’d bet dollars to donuts that between now and whatever debate actually happens we get a steady stream of this kind of crap on all kinds of different things with exactly the thread you pointed out. It’s Donnie’s favorite ammunition. He sure can’t do it on issues.

    18
  19. Was there a context to that remark, or did she just spout it unprovoked?

As if no men have ever been raped, and no rapists ever carry guns or knives or big ugly friends.

I’m starting to think that snacilbupeR should wear a pendant which goes off if they start to say anything about rape: “BEEP BEEP BEEP Don’t say it! Don’t say it! BEEP BEEP BEEP Shut up! Shut up!” Those who have actually been raped and have something sensible to say may override, but no others.

    19
  20. notjonathon says:

What it says in Japanese is “do not throw trash away here”–i.e., “do not litter,” which is sufficiently appropriate.

    20
  21. It’s classic deflection folks. They can’t keep their candidate from saying stupid, so they take over themselves. So, their idiocy will be in the news until the next time he takes the mic.

    21
  22. Irish in S.C. says:

Some media person must have asked about T-Rump’s income taxes or something else important to this election. When that happens he or someone in his campaign says or does something stupid to take the media attention away and it has worked well so far.

    22
  23. Lunargent says:

Okay, I will concede that if women were physically equal to men, there would probably be fewer rapes. Or maybe just more liquor and roofies.

But so what? What’s her point? That as the “weaker sex”, it’s our role to submit? What the Effing Hell is her context, if any?

How about “If men in our society weren’t conditioned to regard women as prey, and themselves as entitled to do whatever they can get away with, there would be fewer rapes.”?

I’m just surprised that she didn’t say “If all women carried guns, there would be no rapes.”

    23
  24. buskyandme says:

    @Rhea… context:

Kellyanne Conway, who was installed as Trump’s campaign manager earlier this month, made the remarks during a panel discussion on PBS’ “To the Contrary” in January 2013.

“If we were physiologically — not mentally, emotionally, professionally — equal to men, if we were physiologically as strong as men, rape would not exist,” Conway said. “You would be able to defend yourself and fight him off.”

The panel of women had been discussing women in the military and gender equality in combat. Conway brought up the analogy unprompted, using it as part of a statement about women’s physical capabilities in relation to men’s.

    24
  25. The doofusi is strong in their genes, or something like Yoda would say. The subject is horrible, even lethal and terminal for both genders but flat earther’s, climate change deniers and the I got mine, bleep you base (and they really, really are!) will never get it. they are simply more trouble than they are worth.

    25
  26. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Shouldn’t she be home raising her 4 children? /s

    26
  27. But Kellyanne, …

There are female outliers who are taller than and stronger than many to most males and all the females around them. As well there are male outliers that are taller and stronger than 90% of the males and all of the females around them. See Shaq or Clowney or dozens of other gifted athletes. What’s your point?

    27
  28. e platypus onion says:

Surprised she didn’t say you can’t rape the willing.

Someday I’ll be living in a big ole city
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean
Someday I’ll be big enough so you can’t hit me
And all you’re ever gonna be is mean
Why you gotta be so mean?

    28
  29. e platypus onion says:

Maybe she was doing a stealth campaign for the NRA. If poor defenseless women had a big iron their hip, they would be in control of who got raped.

    29
  30. Happy belated birthday to Molly Ivins – we miss you!

    30
  31. Fred Farklestone says:

I believe that Conway is Ann Coulter’s long lost, separated at birth, twin brother!

    31
  32. If wishes were horses… What is your fudging point, Kellyanne?
This woman is Trump’s attempt at an outreach to women, but just dumb women. He’s already got that market cornered.

    32
  33. Pancho Sanza says:

This is, by far, the smartest person ever to represent Donald Trump. Sad!

    33
  34. Dogherder says:

There is always someone bigger, stronger, taller, fatter, and meaner. You gotta be smarter and luckier ’cause the bad crap ain’t gonna change.

    34
  35. l'angelomisterioso says:

I had a long-time friend ex-Marine combat vet two tours in Asia. One time an acquaintance tried the thread a moving needle defense of rape. He woke to find the threaded needle stuck in one hand. Needless to say he never tried that one again. I’d recommend that approach for Kellyanne. Hoping that dRUMPf provides his hired guns with good insurance.
