Do You Know Who We Haven’t Talked About in a While?

November 24, 2013 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Rand Paul.  We haven’t talked about Rand Paul in a while.  There is a perfectly good reason for that.  When I mention his name, Thelma grabs her scissors and her shotgun because she can’t decided if she should cut that hair on his head or shoot it before it eats his brains.  Personally, I think she’s a tad too late on the brains option.

Rand Paul is going to Detroit to do African American outreach for the GOP.  See, I told you that Thelma’s too late.

Rand Paul

Rand Paul

Senator Rand Paul, who has publicly told America that he does not support the part of the Civil Rights Act that forbids businesses from doing things like preventing African Americans from entering their premises, will be in Detroit on December 6th to open the Republican African American Engagement Office.

Detroit is 83% African American.  There are frontiers of fertile minds for economic and social Darwinism in Detroit.  Frontiers, I tell you.  I don’t know this for a fact but I suspect that being kicked out of lunch counters because of your color is just the words that African Americans need to hear that will switch them to Looneytarianism.  You know, because of freedom.

So if you’re not doing anything else on December 6th, head to Detroit and try to catch the show.

Thanks to Maggie for the heads up.

Be social and share!

  1. LOL! You can’t make this stuff up, can you?

    1
  2. The irony is that the GOP really does want to engage African-Americans–they just don’t get how. They believe that the engagement should be on their terms, which requires African-Americans to accept discrimination, know their place, and keep the hell shut up about it all.

They are puzzled when this approach does not work the way they think it should.

  3. Ralph Wiggam says:

When I saw that headline in another journal, I thought it was another Onion hoax. Now I suspect that this is just the Republican way of shoving him off the cliff. There is no way he can win for himself or his party. Making him a laughing stock is an ideal way to marginalize him. Seriously, he’d have better luck selling door knobs in a tent city.

  4. SteveTheReturned says:

Who’d they recruit to do their outreach to women: Rush Limbaugh?

    4
  5. Braxton Braggart says:

I thought nothing could top his lecturing students at Howard on the history of the African American community in national party politics.

    I was wrong.

    5
  6. That’s a ‘piece on his head.
    He thinks it a hairpiece.
    We see a ‘merkin’.

    6
  7. Who’da thunk that Rand Paul and Ted Cruz were so similar in their attitudes? Randie’s lecturing African-Americans on their history reminded me of Teddie’s self-important, patronizing attempt to lecture Sen. Diane Feinstein on the U.S. Constitution. What jerks!

    7
  8. I’m from Detroit and honey they are going to slap him bald headed (figuratively speaking).

    8
  9. I think it’s great. Nobody in the Republican Party could know less….about … the African American community.

This is how…. they are going to get a majority in the Senate???

    Got to luv it.

  10. Lorraine in Spring says:

Oh, this is gonna be good. Please let it be recorded.

Gotta remember to put popcorn on my shopping list that week.

  11. Hippie in the Hollar says:

Ya’ll think I could get Detroit to toss him into Lake Erie or St. Clair? Cause I really don’t want him back here in Kentucky.

    11
  12. I lived 26 years in Detroit! Y’all are welcome to do whatever to old Randy! This “outpost” (they call in outreach) in Detroit is only one of many the GOP is sprinklin’ around the country like cheap toilet water. And, yup, they just keep thinkin’ that they don’t have a problem, everybody else does. Bugs Bunny is back and he is still sayin’ “what a bunch of maroons!”

    12
  13. Wow! So, this guy is actually Rick Perry-kinda-dumb? The GOP ain’t fooling anyone with this…

    13
  14. Marcia in CO says:

Certainly some, if not all, of the talking heads on MSNBC will surely have videos of Rand’s attempt to lure and entice the African-Americans in Detroit to come to their side!

Or even better … Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert will have segments on this chat session in Detroit! They’ll make mincemeat of this jerk!!!

    14
  15. Only the repugs would send a rich, white idiot to reach out to poor African Americans and expect positive results. How can these people continue to win elections?????????????

    15
  16. e platypus onion says:

My guess is you took him out of context. He prolly meant African American arraignment program which better fits wingnuts feelings about minorities.

    16
  17. yes this ought to be fun to see how this turns out. ignorance and other Republican “values”. just to show the Blah people Republicans care, lol, about how ignorant Republicans are. like Lynn said in number 2.

wonder if there will be videos?

    17
  18. Careful with the scissors! Without the squirrel do, he’d look like Lee Harvey Oswald.

    18
  19. The Rethugs have been talking about “rebranding” for awhile now. However, it doesn’t seem to include actually listening to the concerns of all those folks who have abandoned the party in droves. It does seem to include lecturing said folks about stuff the GOP knows nothing about.

I’ve been eating much too much popcorn lately.

  20. SteveTheReturned says:

Seriously, now: can you believe that, before Rand Paul became a national political embarrassment, there were people who were willing to trust their EYES to him? Lord have mercy…..

    20
  21. @Braxton Braggart

Rand Paul thinks that African Americans are okay with his position that the civil rights acts should not apply to private property. When the Howard students ask him about his position, he lied and then claimed that people agreed with his position. The man lives in his own world

    21
  22. SteveTheReturned – yep, the folks who trusted their eyes to baby Rand probably did not know that he was a self certified
doctor – probably could not pass those pesky exams.

think I heard that daddy Paul also had sympathies with the neo nazi white supremacist groups too!

    22
  23. Hey! Lucy –
Won’t take any time or effort at all. The numbskul is already snatched bald by all his revoked commentary.
