A Bush? A Bully? Nooooooo….

January 31, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Coming as a shock to no one, classmates of Jeb Bush report that he was a marijuana and hash smoker and was known to bully people.

The only thing that bothers me about his marijuana use, which he admits to doing, is that he opposes legalization of marijuana – even for medical use.

Kids his age went to prison for smoking marijuana but he still doesn’t want to legalize it.  That just doesn’t seem right.

Damn typical Bush.

Here’s the part that caught my eye.

Things started badly for Bush. He had completed ninth grade in Houston, but he was advised to repeat it at Andover. Still, he barely got grades high enough to avoid being expelled, he said in the interview.

And they call him The Smart One?

Thanks to Chris for the heads up.

I read this article just before reading your piece on Jeb. Talk about being a bully!

  2. And they call him The Smart One?

Perception is everything. The media picked up the storyline that Jeb is the “smart one” so “smart” he is. Fake journalists and fake editors will pick up the meme and repeat it until it becomes baked in as common knowledge to everyone. Facts be damned.

Didn’t want people to get meds in Florida, but his daughter had her own prescription pad and was sent to rehab, and smuggled in drugs, while other first offenders got jail time. Wingnut fambly values.

Can he spell “hypocrite”? Because he is one.

  5. He is only smart in comparison to idiot W.

    Another Bush? Please NO!

    Another Clinton? Please NO!

But I’m not sure where that leaves either party.

mark j, the curse of the Democratic Party is candidates either too old or too young. The Republicans are a straight up curse.

The mayor of Baltimore, Stephanie Rawlings-Blake, is impressive, but is she ready for national level politics? Any Democrat governors out there who are not either DINO or dinosaur?

  7. Mainstream Republicans have long considered themselves above us all: special treatment, special consideration and extra special rewards. Fairness is a word they understand only in the context of their own self-anointed superiority. One is pretty much interchangeable with another.

  8. I agree with Alan– once someone gets labeled by the media, they’re stuck with it, just as Al Gore was the wooden wonk.

Maybe if you line up all the Bush boys, Jeb would be the smart one, but that doesn’t say much.

    8
  9. I have no problem with considering Jeb to be the “smart one.” For Bushes the bar is set extremely low–possibly subterranean.

    9
  10. If the Bush boys had “bully” tatted on their foreheads it would be no more obvious. Politically powerful parents ought to be required to not raise children with such a sense of privilege.

    10
  11. I’m not sure it’s been pointed out that Jeb’s biggest problem as a candidate is that he has no charisma whatsoever. He makes Mitt look like the kool kid at school. Even Dubya projected a sort of Alfred E. Neuman persona that a lot of people liked. Jeb could be sold as a sleep aid.

  12. Ralph Wiggam says:

When I was a child my family had a beagle and a cocker spaniel. The beagle was considerably smarter than the spaniel, but he was still a dog. Being the smarter one got him more food and attention, but he was still a dog. And he was not eligible for promotion just because he was smarter than another dog. Once a dog, always a dog.

    12
  13. I thought it was Jeb’s wife who had the prescription pad.

    13
  14. Well, if you are comparing on the basis of zeros . . . I guess you still get zeros.

Ralph, as for Mrs. Jeb Bush, she was the one who tried to use the influence of the Bush name and her husband’s office to get certain purchases she made while abroad into this country through the Press Office so she would not have to pay any kind of taxes on them.

The young Bush who now hold an elected office in TX had a problem with a temper that damn near got him labeled as a psycho. This was mostly in reference to a girlfriend and her family.

We all know about the daughter. She provided us with one of the most terrible mug shots this side of Nick Nolte.

Isn’t there also a third Bushlet from that tree? A son? Have never heard about him. Maybe he fell farther from the family tree.

And no, no, no. Not a third Bush in the WH. Even if Martians were invading!

Here is a perfect quote from one Bush-the dumbass dubya one- 9. “This is an impressive crowd — the haves and the have mores. Some people call you the elite — I call you my base.” –at the 2000 Al Smith dinner

    All hail the 99%ers.

  16. e platypus onion says:

herm-But Bush’s family could drag along enough heavy baggage to sink a White House run, including his daughter Noelle’s 2002 arrests for prescription drug fraud, stealing pills at a rehab clinic, and possession of crack cocaine.
His wife Columba also was detained at U.S. Customs in 1999, at the Atlanta airport, for under-reporting $19,000 worth of clothing and jewelry she bought in Paris – signing a declaration for just $500.

Must run in the fambly. I don’t like to visit family sins but you know Clinto will get the royal treatment if she runs. Every minute of her and Bill’s past will be fair game.

Having attended Andover during the ‘Bush Saga’, I can attest to his bullying tactics. Thanks to his and shrub’s low grades, for years afterward, at Andover, any son of wealth was initially believed to be both stupid and lazy. Well … my brother didn’t help, either. shrub’s escapades were discussed at length by his frat brothers while we were in ‘Nam.

It is unfortunate, but the reputation of the 1% is determined by shrub bros, koch bros and others who ‘feel’ they are entitled by birth. They amount to about 1% of the 1%. Most of us either believe the progressive tax system is reasonable and fair or accept it as too difficult to oppose.

Jeb smoked pot and hash and was STILL a bully? omg, what does it take to keep him calm? Who would he have killed in school if he had not been stoned? The whole bush dynasty is is disaster and they are so bloody prolific that we’ll never be rid of them.

  19. RepubAnon says:

@Alan, @LynnN: Yes, calling Jeb the “Smart One” is technically accurate, but deceptive. Compared to Dubya, a tree fern would be the “Smart One” – but that wouldn’t make the tree fern smart in any real sense. Same thing with Jeb – he’s only smart compared to his brother George, or Sarah “Babbling Brook” Palin.

The sad thing today is that enough voters make their choices based on the packaging rather than the contents.
