Well, Isn’t That Special?

It seems that there aren’t enough voter registration cards to go around in Texas.

Sam Taylor, assistant secretary of state for communications, said supply chain issues have made it harder and more expensive to get paper, which means the Secretary of State’s office will be giving out fewer voter registration forms to groups ahead of elections this year.

“We are limited in what we can supply this year, because of the paper shortage and the cost constraints due to the price of paper and the supply of paper,” he said.

The League of Women Voters registers 30,000 new citizens every year at naturalization ceremonies, and of course that is the group being most impacted by this shortage

Grace Chimene, president of the League, says the Secretary of State’s office has told the League to seek out donations instead of relying on the state for voter registration forms. She said she “didn’t appreciate” this considering the fact her group is a non-partisan nonprofit. However, Chimene said, her group will try and do what it can.

You know, we have plenty of money for our felony indicted state Attorney General to file a mountain of lawsuits against the federal government that are going nowhere, but damn, I’m sure we won’t have enough paper to print ballots in low income neighborhoods.

Ms. JJ “special” wasn’t exactly the first word to come to mind. But out of respect to you, the memory of your Mama, and the good people of the WMDBS, expletives have been deleted. Remember when TFG wanted his “Roy Cohn” to serve at DOJ? Meh. It’s time we the people have our next RFK at DOJ to roll on all these QOP state governments and their unbelievably transparent voter suppression efforts. Need voter registration forms or ballots. No problem. We can deliver. Tank or air drop, Gub A-Butt and others?

So all of Texas other voter suppression actions weren’t enough they have resort to this. Guess who they’re targeting. Ain’t new white voters.

  3. I was going to request a mail in ballot recently, but this state is so crazy about voting, I have concerns about where my ballot will end up.

  4. Well I don’t know bout the rest of you folks, but I ain’t prejudiced about paper at all. Recycled bamboo paper’ll do just fine. So hell, the way I got it figgered, Arizona’s Maricopa County by itself oughta have enough of them Chinese ballots that they threw out just layin around to supply everbody west of I-45.
    Boom, problem solved.
    You’re welcome.

  5. Is it just me or are there any others who think the Assistant Secretary of State might be equating the shortage of bathroom tissue, which is still intermittently hitting our stores around here, with the voter registration forms?I wouldn’t put it past him! This scorches my socks! My dad immigrated to this country cuz by comparison there was a lot more to love about it than hate it.This first generation American just ain’t buying that b—s—- and highly recommends the Assistant Secretary of State find himself a real job up to par with his mental and physical abilities such a cleaning spittoons.

Instead of card stock just use paper and mail in an envelope.

  7. Followup news story I’d like to see:

Texas State Legislatures and other government officials will have to wait for perhaps a year to receive their next paycheck as the state is” limited in what we can supply this year, because of the paper shortage and the cost constraints due to the price of paper and the supply of paper.”

  8. Legislatures should be legislators

  9. Joe now knows that stupidity can be treated with poison darts....DAMMIT says:

Ever time I think that Texas current elected leadership has reached the pinnacle of Mt Stoopid…..they surprise me again, stooping to new heights of Stoopid. Between this and the following about El Sid Miller, I’m not sure there are any limits…the bad part of that is that the voters don’t seem to want to apply any limits on this pervasive stoopidity. SHAKES HEAD LOUDLY
