The Appropriate Response to Mask Bullies
Yesterday, Eric Swalwell of California was leaving the House floor when he was confronted by a staffer to Marjorie Taylor Greene, yelling at him to take off his mask, saying, “Biden says to take off your mask!” Swalwell responded appropriately: “You don’t tell me what to fucking do!”
Swalwell doesn’t think his response was explicit enough. I think it was perfect, especially to Greene or any of the Mini Me fascists who work for her.

I haven’t had that happen yet. I’ve been thinking about what to say and I don’t think Swalwell was explicit enough.

3I think first that it’s pretty cheeky for an aide to tell a Congressman to do anything. Second, what will GOPers do when they see me, a little old lady who might still wear a mask in crowds? Those people are not only rude, they’re scary!

7I was in a doctor’s waiting room the other day, masks required. A big slob was spouting off to no one in particular but generally giving a Republican jerk vibe. I wasn’t paying attention to him and hadn’t noticed he was not masked.
But when he was called, his wife made wear-your-mask motions and he pulled a mask out of his pocket, but didn’t put it on.
The next part took place in the hall so I heard but did not see it.
The assistant who called him in was a large (NFL linebacker large) black woman who is always friendly and cheerful but gives off a definite no-nonsense feel.
Big slob: “You’re not going to let me pass, are you?”
Big assistant: (Nada)
He backed out of the hall, fumbling to get his mask on.
8Harry, I’ve seen similar. These people are what the young-uns call “attention whores”. They don’t really believe Covid is a hoax and most of them know wearing a mask will help cut down its transmission. But they just want to be the star of the show, make a lot of noise, and hope everyone will applaud them for their dumbass stand. They are the children who would shriek “Daddy, look at me!” while doing something, but these brats never grew up. They even enjoy negative comments, because it means they’re important in some way. To an attention whore, even annoyed and bad attention is still attention to them.
They’re like the idiot men who stick a lit Roman candle in their pants, then do hip thrusts with it. Except the Roman candle attention whores generally only harm themselves instead of endangering the entire community.
My go-to response nowadays is “the mask isn’t for protection, it’s so the rest of us don’t have to look at your ugly face”. Men especially find it hard to argue “no, my face is pretty!”.
9Swalwell showed great restraint, especially considering her actions this week against AOC. M T(for terrorist)G and E Stefan-ick are vying to be the darlings of the trumpf cult which means to be the most obnoxious butt kissing “people “ on earth (and there’s fierce competition for that honor). I think she’s hoping someone will do more than talk back.
10I watched the video of MTG and her co-terrorists trolling the capital in 2019 looking for AOC and yelling through her office mail slot (her entourage included someone who was arrested for the Jan 6 insurrection). No doubt she was personally involved Jan 6 and before.

Edit: According to ABC-13, the latest National Terrorism Advisory System alert released by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) serves as an extension of the previous warning of possible civil unrest before the insurrection on the U.S. Capitol. The previous alert regarding Jan. 6 was set to expire on Saturday, May 15.
11While the alert does not offer details about any isolated threat, it warns of “potential danger from an increasingly complex and volatile mix that includes domestic terrorists inspired by various grievances, racial or ethnic hatred and influences from abroad,”

13Thank you Congressman Swalwell! The QOP cannot have it both ways. Yes, it has been said it’s safe to forego wearing a mask indoors when with other vaccinated people. However, before we throw away our masks, we would like to ask these QOP individuals and covidiots, which way is it: do you want to be maskholes about this, or would you support proof of vaccination?
SMDH Walmart has announced a mask free policy for their vaccinated employees, while expecting shoppers to be on an “honor” system. We never shopped there before, and that policy will certainly not encourage us to shop there. Evuh. Our greatest compassion and sympathies are with the employees who are not free to tell Walmart management where to shove that idioso policy.
