Greeting the Tourists

May 18, 2021 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Georgia Republican Congressvermin Andrew Clyde got plenty of air time over his claim that January 6th was like “a normal tourist day” at the capitol. Someone got a picture of Clyde as the tourists arrived.

And the he ran downstairs to help block the door so they couldn’t even get to the gift shop.

I think we should make him the official tourist greeter from now on.  He’s got lots of practice at it.

Be social and share!

  1. It would be nice if these people actually felt shame at being called out on their hypocrisy, but they don’t.

I heard a report on NPR this morning that this idiot may have really gotten himself in a jam with his comments. The defendants could demand that he appear at their upcoming trials and tell a jury just how “they were just like tourists”. The Prosecutors will have him for breakfast. What a dope!

    Anything for the leader.
Good thing he was the only person not wearing a mask so his screams could be clearly heard by the tourists to add to their capital experience.

Does he have a history of running to the gift shop when a tourist tour is going on?

And do we give him -10 for the lie or +1 for helping out at the gift-shop door? Or maybe both? Was the gift shop assistance because he knew he had looked like a scaredy cat and wanted to have a better “optic” as a counter?

I notice that he is not wearing a mask in either picture.

  6. If that’s his reaction to typical tourists, his vacation photos must be a hoot.

Shorter Andy the Dumb, I love tourists when they declare open season on Congress.

Breaking down doors, shattering windows and killing cops is not tourist season, Andy.

Speaking of the millions of dollars damage, how about in addition to citing, indicting and prosecuting those terrorists, charge them for the damage. Every scratching one of them needs to be assessed for the damage. No bail, no parole, until they pay the costs.

I think this is the fourth story contrasting the pictures from then and the stories offered by Congress critters of the Republican persuasion. I don’t know what they are serving at the conference lunches, but whatever it is ought to be provided to veterans suffering from PTSD. Obviously, it is helping to reduce the fear, sense of unpleasantness, and level of emotional engagement with a traumatic episode, and helping to reinterpret actions to be a part of normality.

And now the GOPoliticians are being whipped into line by the GOP Whips, to vote *against* a bipartisan investigation of the events of Jan 6. Because despite claiming the Dems aren’t being bipartisan, we know who really isn’t…the GOP isn’t going to cooperate with the Dems on anything.

Kill the filibuster and we’ll do our own damn investigation and when they whine and bluster we’ll show them the photos again and remind them they were invited to be on the team and refused.

I think the constituants of the R’s should demand their money back. The salary these traitors are being paid when they don’t do anything to earn it could be easily put to use by some folks who are suffering from this pandemic.
Talk about “welfare queens”–these R’s are worthless.

  11. WA Skeptic @ 10, maybe you saw the same stories on Politico as I did. One covered how Democrats want to give more funding to the I.R.S. to go after wealthy tax cheats for revenue towards infrastructure. But apparently some decades old budget rule forbids scoring that revenue to pay for legislation.
And 4 or 5 stories down is one about Greene, Boebert, Gohmert, et al pitching a fit over mean ole’ Pelosi making them wear masks when the senate doesn’t require them.
    And Nancy’s answer?
Fines. $500 first offense, $2500 thereafter, DEDUCTED FROM THEIR SALARY.
I realize it wouldn’t make a dent in the actual budget, and the same rules would probably prevent it, but OMG would that be fun to watch.
    Even suggesting it.
The pearl clutching would be on an epic scale.
    Now THAT’S entertainment!

  12. Sandridge, I know I’m late, but what you were saying about trump being a puppet of the elite, I don’t know if that’s as true as it was before. I can’t help but think that to a certain extent he’s beyond their control. I don’t doubt that they have plenty of dirt on him. But his followers are so fanatical, that I wonder if they’d (the elite) use it and risk exposure.
After what Liz Chaney said about repugnantcans confiding to her that the reason they didn’t vote to impeach him after the insurrection out of fear for their safety, I’m kinda thinking he’s like the stereotypical sci-fi creation that’s grown far beyond the control of the creators.

Y’all are being so hard on him! He probably just didn’t want tourist “guests” in the House Chamber because they hadn’t had time to throw away the trash and vacuum

Clyde is only the second-worst representative from Georgia. This is not encouraging.
