Regarding the “ask yourself are you better off…” cartoon, a week long ad on Fox “News” is now running using those same words of Ron R. but put in today’s context.

P.S., the “we are all John Lewis” cartoon is particularly poignant.

Cartoon 4: meanwhile in Portland. By now most readers here have heard that Barrf’s army in Portland pulled out yesterday. Governor Brown said there were no concessions required by local authorities because the Feds were looking for a way out (I’m concerned about how Trumpf will react to her statement). I think they read the stories and saw the pictures in the Oregonian over the weekend of brutality against absolutely peaceful protesters. The first casualty of their offensive was in the hospital for weeks, got released then had to go back. There were photos of other serious injuries on protesters from flying munitions. I guess they realized this was not the campaign fodder they hoped for.
Guess what, since there were no protesters being attacked last night, there was no violence- it was only peaceful protesting.

Thanks for the update. Is the hospitalized man the poor you fellow whose skull the goon fractured? Prayers and good thoughts for him, as well as all the others injured. What courage ordinary Portlanders showed!

JJ, excellent cartoons but things are still too serious for laughter, sadly.

Yes, the same young man. We’re all pulling for him. He developed an infection in the lining between his brain injury and his sinuses. Don’t know the details but his family is suing the DOJ, and rightly so. Unfortunately, his injuries are said to have lasting effects. So sad.

Not sure if you will post this.

Louie Gohmert now claims he is pregnant because so many told him to go blank himself!:)

  6. Brad in Dallas says:

I got choked up reading John Lewis’s final letter, published posthumously in the NYT. A lifetime of non-violence, and not just any lifetime, but HIS tumultuous one. After 74 years, he could still call on us to turn our backs on violence. He called on us to love. Not to fight, or struggle, but to love. What a heart the man had. He also wanted us to look out and see a world of idealists. We’re not alone in our march. Find it and read it, if you can. It’s worth the time.

Everyone, Brad in Dallas is correct. Congressman Lewis’ letter can be read at the link. Added bonus is Morgan Freeman reading the letter for us. https://crooksandliars.com/2020/07/morgan-freeman-reads-rep-john-lewis-last

Thanks for the heads up, will definitely listen to Morgan Freeman’s reading.
Sorry for my 3rd post today, and this is not funny.
Tucker Carlson called President Obama “greasy” for his eulogy to John Lewis. If John Lewis did his own eulogy, he’d have said the same things based on what’s going on right now. His voice has been silenced but not his message.
Calling Tucker Carlson greasy would be too kind. He’s sleezy.

Steve from Beaverton : don’t apologize for multiple postings. It’s info that we need and for those of us in small towns, don’t get from the mainstream media.

This assault by Barr’s Brown Shirts is going to happen in other cities, and we need to learn from Portland just what works and what doesn’t work in getting rid of them. While Barr’s goons are backing off temporarily, the BLM and progressive movements in Portland are not going to stop – even if the media will drop reporting on it because they won’t be getting cool pictures of tear gas and beatings.

    So keep us posted!
