Welcome to The World's Most Dangerous Beauty Salon, Inc.
My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
First cartoon: OK, I can probably understand that Iran feels insulted but what I really, really can’t take is the fact that it feels like they pity us.
1@maggie: Maybe they do pity us. Don’t you?
2I pity us for having 47 senators who don’t know how the government works… or else they were in a hurry to get out of town, like McCain, and just signed anything that someone stuck under their noses, but that’s a pity too.
3I suspect McCain was told that the letter was an exercise in hate against Obama and didn’t need to hear a syllable more than that. Republicans act as though they have an addiction where Obama is concerned. They can’t stop snorting the hate.
4I do pity us. I was talking just last night, as on many nights, about HOW IN THE WORLD are we going to explain in the future how we stand/sit/lie down in front of the Koch brothers juggernaut. Are we waiting for them to march into the White House accompanied by armed guards, as they announce that they are doing it to protect us from that evil Obama?
5Appalled in Austin but would be just as appalled if I were still in Abilene.
I get several daily mailings about ebooks on sale at Amazon etc. One of today’s offerings is The Complete Idiot’s Guide to Government and Politics for only $1.99. Maybe I should buy at least 47 copies and pass them out.
Well… 47 would be just a start. And it wouldn’t help those fools like Linsey Graham who can’t even figure out how to send an email. (WashPost column today pointed them out as another example of GOP deliberate and proud ignorance.)
6Waiting for the Krappy Korporate Kreepy Kerfluffle Konglomeration Kwier to release their stirring rendition of Banned Aid’s(for the poor and needy) “We Are the Worst” to raise money for the koch bros fantasy fortune five hundred fix to aid billionaires and end their suffering from not having enough, fa-la-la-la-la la-la-la. Give til it hurts everyone except the wealthy.
7That’s some fancy alliteration, epo, but your point is made.
8The repugnican’ts are Koch addicts, pure and simple, and it doesn’t look like their supply is about to run out anytime soon.
I want to laugh at how stupid these guys are, but I can’t even remember the last time I was this angry about anything. I know my blood pressure is up about a yard and a half. Why aren’t these idiots and traitors in jail?
9Rubymay-there are several problems with our country. One being that wingnuts control both houses of congress and subpoena power and ethics committees. Another one is that wingnuts never do anything illegal, just ask them. Another problem is when Dems had control of congress they didn’t bother pushing criminal charges against dumbass dubya and regime. They don’t have the stomach or backbone to do what needs to be done. All Dems want to do is get the country moving forward for everyone while traitorious wingnuts do everything they can to prevent that from happening.
10I agree platypus, the Democrats seem to prefer the high road, and they won’t meet anyone there. The republicans, now in thrall to the Tea Party are on the other road altogether.
11Time for some good old-fashioned (Tiberius era) treason trials.
12Welcome back, stranger. Been missing that New York logic lately.
