Well, This is Kinda Fun

September 22, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The special election for a Republican nomination for a US senate seat in Aladamnbama is scheduled for September 26 – that’s next Tuesday.

The Democratic nominee is Doug Jones, who won the primary outright by more than 50% of the vote, even with 6 opponents.  Jones was endorsed by Joe Biden.

The Republicans are having a goat rodeo.  Roy Moore, who is a real special kind of wacko, is still leading in the polls 54 – 46%.  Moore is endorsed by Sarah Palin, who is still fighting Hillary Clinton, Kid Rock, and host of dead people, including Phylis Schlafly.

His opponent, Luther Strange, is less crazy but that’s not hard to do compared to Moore.  He is endorsed by Donald Trump and Mitch McConnell.

So, I mean, it’s really hard to pick a favorite.

So, if Mitch’s pick loses this race and Mitch loses the goofball healthcare vote, he might as well go home.  I would love to see that. I know you would, too.

We’ll be here Tuesday with chuckles and grins.

  1. WashPost has an article today about Moore in which he’s quoted as saying he doesn’t believe in Biblical punishments such as death for gays.

Roy, if you start to pick and choose which Biblical rules you follow, how do you pick? Most people pick based on common sense, modern standards (e.g. no death for nonvirgin brides) and compassion. Since you appear to have none of those, I’m just wondering what your basis is for selecting Biblical rules for behavior and which ones you reject. I bet the voters would like to know too.

  2. ARRGGGHHHH!!! What secured mental facility did these ‘people’ escape from? And how do we get them back? Oh yes is there room for traitor trump, McConnell etal?

  3. Remember in Republican controlled districts it’s not who votes, it’s who counts the vote.
Don Siegelman’s name just popped in my head for some reason.

    b) I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?

    d) Lev. 25:44 states that I may indeed possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can’t I own Canadians?

    e) I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2 clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself?

    f) A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an Abomination (Lev 11:10), it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don’t agree. Can you settle this?

    h) Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev 19:27. How should they die?

  5. Inbreeding, that what it is both for Moore and Strange!

  7. Folks, turn the hair dryers off for a minute! The Republican runoff is on September 26. The general election is December 12. You have time to help support Doug Jones!!!!

And I’d like to see Roy Moore be asked the same questions.

(I like the fact that when I type “West Wing” into YouTube, “Bible references” is the first thing that comes up.)

  9. Mary in San Antonio says:

Rhea, I read the article in WaPo about Roy Moore and the man is a flat-out religious nut. This is the same man who was removed as an Aladamnbama Supreme Court justice because he would not take down the monument to the Ten Commandments he had installed at the Aladamnbama Supreme Court, then was reelected to the Supreme Court and again removed because he did not like the US Supreme Court’s ruling on same sex marriage and made his position extremely clear. And now he wants to be a senator and impose his beliefs on the entire country.

Folks, something needs to be done about the people in Aladamnbama who kept electing this idiot to their Supreme Court. I have friends in Aladamnbama who are appalled by this man and his actions, but they are severely outnumbered by his supporters. Is there something in the water there that makes people like this crazy fool? Maybe they should be drinking only bottled water.

  10. In the unhappy event that Moore is elected, he’ll be flat out perjuring himself when he takes his oath of office, swearing to support and defend the Constitution. Of course, he’s already taken that oath as a judge, and violated it numerous times, putting his religion above his civic duty.

I took a similar oath in 2010, when I worked as a census taker for a month. Pretty sure I took it a lot more seriously than ole Roy ever did.
