Well Hell, Let’s Go For Broke.

December 11, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The new tax plan is already the most disliked legislation in a damn month of new moons, with only 32% of Americans supporting it.  By the way, that’s the lowest approval rating of any bill in 30 years, including the original opposition to the Affordable Care Act.

But, no, not one to leave well enough alone, here’s the top of the fold headline in the Austin American Statesman today.

Oh hell, let’s stick mandatory prayer in there while we’re at it.

So now I’m not only against the Republican tax plan, I want to kill it, stuff it, mount it over the fireplace and open my house for the damn Christmas Home Tour.

The sound you hear is me batting my head on the keyboard.

  1. Remember the very peculiar form of accountability that our form of democracy has. At the end of the day almost everybody hates congress except their particular Congressperson or Senator. And maybe their friends.

Cruz seems to be hated by everyone. But he still gets elected.

So this type of nonsensical activity is primarily there to take advantage of that. It isn’t important to get the job done. It is important to get re-elected and thereby continuing to be able to feed at the trough.

Teddie Crooze, probably the only person in the Senate who could or would bond with Roy Moore. Meanwhile, the southern moocher states have alienated the western states. They want federal $$$ for their hurricanes while denying any tax relief for fire and earthquake damage. Hello Oklahoma, how’s that fracking working out for you?

Senator Heller (R-NV), please, could you interrupt your flip flopping for a moment of conscious realization? Dean, what that Martin Niemöller dude said, “they’re coming for us.”

  3. I think any voters who don’t vote out reps and senators who vote for bills they don’t want should be voted out and replaced with voters who understand how representative government is supposed to work. And who pay attention.

  4. Hm. I wonder how much stock in private school businesses the Cruz family owns or is engaged in buying.

Teddy is a Texas sized piece of slime. He has zero good qualities. He must have deep pockets to keep buying his Senate seat cause he surely doesn’t do anything.

  6. With every GOP slimeball trying to tag the bill with their sponsors favorite wet dream, can it be re-examined to see if it still abides by the Byrd Rule or not?

“Some high-income business owners could face marginal tax rates exceeding 100% under the Senate’s tax bill, far beyond the listed rates in the Republican plan.

That means a business owner’s next $100 in earnings, under certain circumstances, would require paying more than $100 in additional federal and state taxes.”

Honey, if you open your house for a Christmas Tour, make sure you charge a hefty admission price going to a good cause (electing Liberal Democrats!!!!) and invite us all. I’ll be right over, and bring all my friends!
