Rick Perry is a pig. A pig with a snake wrapped around it. He Governor Crap in my book.
Today he attacked Wendy Davis personally. Yeah, the big tough Texan kneecapped a woman. Not her ideas. Not what she does politically. He attacked her and her child.
Wendy Davis makes no bones out of the fact that she was a divorced single mother who got her act together and graduated with honors from Harvard law school. She is an inspiration. She had a child by choice. It was not forced on her.
So, today, Rick Perry uses that inspiring life story to hit her in the gut.
In fact, even the woman who filibustered the Senate the other day was born into difficult circumstances. She was the daughter of a single woman, she was a teenage mother herself. She managed to eventually graduate from Harvard Law School and serve in the Texas senate. It is just unfortunate that she hasn’t learned from her own example that every life must be given a chance to realize its full potential and that every life matters.
So his argument is that because she had a choice, other women should not have a choice?
He was trying to shame her.
This sniveling weenie slug of a man wants to be President of the United Damn States of America.

Ya know, back around 2000 or so I took my family to Chicago and everyone was all excited about some Dem hotshot in the Illinois Senate with a funny African name. This was at the end of the Clinton term and everyone was wondering who the next Dem star would be. Turned out this African feller had gone to Harvard Law and he impressed a lot of people. Anything starting to sound familiar?

Over and beyond the obvious douchebaggery of his statement, what kind of politically tone-deaf asshole goes out and attacks a woman like her who is right now riding a HUGE wave of popularity?

8State Senator Davis’ response “Rick Perry’s statement is without dignity and tarnishes the high office he holds,” she said. “They are small words that reflect a dark and negative point of view. Our governor should reflect our Texas values. Sadly, Gov. Perry fails that test.”
9Kind of ironic that next week when we celebrate Independence Day, Perry is going to launch another effort to deprive a segment of his constituency an element of their personal freedom. Gear up folks. It’s gonna be a rough week.
10I guess the thing that burns my butt the most is that Perry said this, as a Christian, to a group of Christian activists who are hardcore anti-abortionists…. on religious grounds. What happened to the Scripture about “judge not that ye be not judged” and that ole casting the first stone stuff? Well Bless their freakin’ hearts! Aren’t they special?
If you watch Perry’s speech to them, he not only insults Wendy Davis, but also HER MOTHER! Then they applaud, whoop it up, like they are truly holier than thou. I really-really-really dislike those poor misguided a-holes. Gag me with a spoon…. nah…. it’s Friday afternoon, and 5 o’clock somewhere.
