Travels With Carl
Carl is a friend of the beauty salon who stays pretty quiet most of the time but he sends me heads up and greetings from the far frigid north. He recently moved to North Carolina to be with his son and to thaw out a little.
He told me about the trip —
As we were traveling down to N.C. stopped in Beckley W Va. This was a couple of days after the election. Over heard at Ruby Tuesday’s, locals wearing ball caps while eating. Male diner said a friend of his called from TX, saying Trump was already hiring people to build wall. Another young guy said, They were starting to call miners from the coal mines back to work..
While at the DMV a lady was signing up to get voters ID card. When asked party preference She responded Trump..
We laughed.
Wouldn’t it be fun to go back in about a year and ask where the coal and the wall are?
I expect there’ll be a splashy start on the wall soon, and also a much-publicized re-opening of a mine. Both will be TrumpTweeted as “victories”, and generate a few short-term jobs.
Remember, it’s all about show – not substance. Ardent Trumpistas will never admit that they’ve been bamboozled.
1Not being on Facebook, and rarely visiting sites like Breitbart and infowars, for fear of viral infection (digitally and biologically) and generally just wantin to keep my food down, I don’t know what the fake news is doing at any given time. But I imagine that the Russian operation has only emboldened people all over the world to try and influence our fellow citizens. Look how well it worked. A remarkable number of Americans evidently have an appetite for that kinda crap and will lap it up. Protecting the first amendment is liable to be our downfall. Makes sense. Using our our greatest strength against us. Diabolical.
2I can go into a diner wearing a ball cap and spread any rumors I want too. How about a rumor that Trump’s applying for Russian citizenship and moving to Moscow?
3Folks, you will not have to wait a year to find out what happened re: coal mines and the wall. The believers will be having a foaming at the mouth hissy-spit fit in public and even on the sidewalk in front of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. Much good it will do them. Trump is likely to spend very little realtime there. He will be bouncing between New York City and Mar A Lago.
And Rhea, thats a totally crackerjack idea!
4Ryan will fund Trump’s wall in exchange for budget cuts elsewhere.
5Much should be made of Trump’s most recent stiffing of his workers in order to discourage contractors from working on the Wailing Wall.
6Don A, we know those Ryan cuts will be in things like WIC, Headstart, heating assistance, BIA schools, veterans and other programs that serve the spoiled classes, aka- non billionaires.
7Rhea, I think I’ll use that for a tweet, something like this:
“New revelation! After 1 term trump moving to Moscow, Putin gives citizenship in return for highly classified info.
RETWEET TO ALL YOUR FRIENDS ASAP!!!!!”
8Debbo, why wait until the end of a term? Does anybody think Trump can do actual work any longer than Palin did?

Obama has admitted to being in the bubble. I don’t know how to remove the Drumpfers from their bubbles, but I can work on *mine* to better understand the people that Obama change left behind (that voted for him, and hoped).
They dig tunnels from MX to CA — some quite sophisticated, I’ve read. How far underground are they going to lay the footings for that wall? And then I’ll be looking for a little earthquake to start it cracking up top. Some substandard concrete would be a good idea.
11Carl won’t be thawing out here in NC until at least the end of the week as it is colder than a well digger’s behind in February. Nice story too.

The snacilbupers don’t even care about his shortened digits- they’re long enough to grasp the pen so he can sign any legislation they hand him( and he will) so tRUMPf meets their minimum requirements for the office.
13I want to start a rumor that Trump said he is going to pay for the wall himself, and then he’ll make Mexico pay him back. With interest!
14It will be interesting to hear him have to deny he said it.
Just one more disappointment for his voters.
