This Is Fun

What to see Martin O’Malley make mincemeat of Governor Jan Brewer?

Of course you do.

Remember when your mother said not to make an ugly face because one day your face will stick that way?  Jan Brewer should have listened to her mother.

And you know Martin O’Malley was having a mess of fun baiting her with the shaking finger near the end of the segment.

I might have to watch this clip several times.  Way to go, Martin O’Malley!

Best Line:  “I don’t believe he meant it in the manner that he said it.”

Jan Brewer— A wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries.
With some funding from the NRA.

  2. Anomalous Propagation says:

O’Malley can and WILL speak the truth to power. He will be considered a liability to/by all of the minority elements of the political party. No doubt all the Sanders, Warren, Castro, Booker & Beshear followers, each representing one of the 5 minority wings of the party, have bent Clinton’s ear, threatened to walk, withhold money, etc. over its icon.

There is no way around it. Any of the three major governors will be the best pick, in order of their subjectively perceived contributory [post election] qualities: O’Malley, Beshear or Hickenlooper.

  3. Polite Kool Marxist says:

The Jan Brewer “defense” – “he didn’t mean what he said.” Hello, Drumpf supporters, you might want to rethink voting for that guy. He doesn’t mean what he says, says Jan. Like a blind squirrel, Jan may have stumbled onto something. So, tell us Jan, was that a nut or a rabbit turd you tasted?

  4. I haven’t watched it so far because I’m traveling and am in a place where there are others a video might disturb. Will do it later. In the meantime I’m wondering if she’s auditioned for Elphelba yet. A new career awaits.

  5. Go, Martin! Calm and reasoned facts in the face of repeated lies. Another Maryland Dem for sanity.

    5
  6. O’Malley totally impressed me with his response to Brewer. I think he would be a strong VP candidate for Hillary.

  7. Gramiam says:

Can you imagine what it was like here in Arizona when we had John McCain, Sheriff Joe Arpaio, Jan Brewer AND Sarah Palin preaching and screeching hatred, bigotry and Terminal stupidity 24/7?
Happily those days are going fast. Sarah sold her house in Scottsdale and hot footed it back to Wasilla, Alaska, Joe Arpaio is being threatened with perjury charges, McCain is being hustled out of office and into retirement and Jan Brewer loses her delegate status to the delegate for another candidate and so she won’t be going to the Republican National Convention.
Karma ROCKS! Not to mention that Arizona is turning BLUE!

  8. WA Skeptic says:

    OMalley for VEEP!!

Keep Ms Warren where she is, kicking Rethuglican butts!

What a triple threat this next administration will be.

    8
  9. Martin O’Malley is a polite, measured, and diplomatic man. The rest of us would probably have given Jan Brewer the finger another way.

    9
  10. Poor Jan. No one told her it’s education that makes you smarter, not face lifts.

  11. W. C. (Pete) Peterson says:

Donnie Dumbass may not be a racist. In order to be a racist, you have to at least CARE about the other person good or bad. Donnie Dumbass doesn’t give one iota about anybody else but himself. Donnie Dumbass wants the judge presiding over his Trump “University” case out of the way because even Donnie Dumbass knows he’s sunk. So why not disparage the judge if it help his case even a little bit? The judge should have simply smiled and slapped Donnie Dumbass with a Yuge Contempt of Court citation to go along with the fraud case. The judge was way, way too tolerant.

  12. AKLynne says:

I tried but I couldn’t get past all the shouting and cross shouting. Can somebody tell me what minute the good part starts, or is it all the way through? I just can’t listen to Jan Brewer yapping.

    12
  13. maryelle says:

Jan Brewer’s outrage is caused by the fact that she is one of the biggest bigots in the country. President Obama has shown remarkable restraint in dealing with nutjobs like her.
He should have slapped that finger right out of his face.

    13
  14. JAKvirginia says:

Jan is like so many others like her — terrifed of losing “their country”. Sweetie, I’m 65 and grew up in “your country”. Wasn’t much to shout about then or now. Small-minded, uninformed bigots yapping away about stuff they lack the courage or curiousity to know. I’m sick of all of them.

    14
  15. dbtexas says:

How do such disgusting and vile people like Brewer and Cuccinelli con so many into supporting them? Completely and utterly worthless!

    15
  16. it’s a pity Michelle wasn’t there when Brewer pulled that stunt with the Prez, I suspect she’d have broken that finger off at the root, and shoved it down Brewer’s throat, sideways.

    16
  17. Michael O' says:

I’m sorry, but has anyone noticed Jan’s face is tighter than a cat’s butt?
She’s had some serious plastic work done. I’m surprised she doesn’t have a goatee!

    17
  18. cpinva, you remind me of a political LOL I saw shortly after Obama’s first inauguration. I stress that this is NOT a quote from Michelle Obama, but the imagined words in a caption on a photo of her looking horked off: “Listen, Rush, I haven’t forgotten what you said about Chelsea. Say any crap about my daughters and it will take a team of doctors to pry my foot out of your lying, cowardly, bloated, oxycontin-loving ass.”

    18
  19. I love that pseudo quote of Michelle. Thanks Rhea.

So Scumpf didn’t mean what he said? Probably true. He probably wanted to say something like “f**king wetback”. Brewer is just icky. She’s pulling the snacilbupeR trick of trying to pin their own disgusting behavior on the other side. Won’t work because Scumpf has provided a horde of bigoted a$$holery type quotes.

Brewer is sick of being identified as the bigot she is.

PKM, what can we call her? Her real name is too respectful for someone who deserves none. Boo-her?

    19
  20. I noticed the difference in her too…lots of work, I’d say. So many women have serious sun baked, damaged skin. She was a prime example, but now that’s a whole different look. Nothing wrong with that, but it doesn’t change what’s inside.

    20
  21. Marcia in CO says:

I noticed the “new,” unlined Jan face right off the bat … I even thought: “Man, she’s looking pretty good!” It can’t all be really good pancake make-up and putty filler!! LOL

Did you notice that she did push O’Malley’s hand away just at the end of this? LOL

    21
  22. Myrnatoo says:

Lots of work was done, but she still has that nasty gash on her face.

    22
  23. I was actually surprised that no one challenged her on her statement in 1st minute of “name calling and accusations of bigotry…to see a president speak like that is offensive, very offensive.”

I wanted to ask, “What about your choice, Donald is the king of name-calling on the current political scene? Is it not equally inappropriate and offensive for a presidential candidate?” She even later used one of his name-calling techniques with “crooked Hillary.”

I know any logical refuting of rhetoric is a waste of breath, but hypocrisy really drives me nuts!

    23
  24. Jan, darlin, if you don’t like people criticizing those bigot shoes you find so comfortable, take ’em off and throw ’em away. Never mind how well they fit.

    24
  25. I want to know why the Republicans are putting their party over the good of the country!?
My representative sent out an email stating that she was a “legislator, not a protestor”. She got an earful from me!
I think my new fun thing to do this so summer is to email her at least once a week to voice my displeasure with her job performance.
    Why do Republicans hate America?

And Jan, if it talks like a bigot, it is a bigot!

    25
  26. WA Skeptic says:

What I hate about these staged “debates” is that the Rethuglicans talk and talk and interrupt and obfuscate whatever the topic is, not allowing for reasoned discourse.

They should have their microphones cut off when they do that.

And they had Cuccinelli (???) up there–as corrupt an official as any politician that got run out of office. Makes you wonder why they bothered.

    26
  27. Marcia in CO says:

Star … I did hear her throw in that “crooked Hillary” … oh, how they suck up the Drumpf pap of insults and bigotry for sure!!

    27
  28. Larry Cross says:

thank goodness for botox – otherwise how would Brewer be able to keep that inane smile on her face when she was having her ass handed to her in a handbag?

    28
  29. I’m glad Jan Brewer’s out of a job. I guess she got the facelift so she can go on teevee to spread hate and lies.

My dear friends, there’s only one solution. We have to get out the vote in overwhelming numbers. I’ve said it before: If your friends/colleagues/family/neighbors/congregants/acquaintances need help so they can vote, provide it. They might need access to your high-speed internet to track down documents. Perhaps a small cash gift (masquerading as a loan to save face, if need be) to pay for getting said documents. Ride(s) to the DMV to obtain photo ID; rides to and from their polling places.

Many states have made it harder for our fellow Americans to vote (not mine, although I don’t like the new voting machines one little bit). Do everything YOU can to make it easier. November might seem like a long way off; it isn’t. Help your fellow citizens to do their civic duty.

While you’re at it, encourage them to vote in EVERY election, every year. Voting does not happen once every four years (twice counting primaries). Thank you.

If people were calling you homely as a baboon’s family jewels after being shaved with a rusty gillette, I would defend you because you are not responsible for the genes your parents bequeathed upon you.

If people were calling you short, I would defend you because, again your height is a combination of genetics and early childhood nutrition, neither of which you control.

If you’re being called a bigot, sorry. You have some control over that. Simple solution, don’t act like a bigot. What you actually feel, or claim to feel, is of no relevance. In the words of Andrew Vachss, behavior is truth. And your truth is, you act and speak in the manner of a bigot. Change your behavior, change your truth.
