They Are Beginning to Irritate Me

February 22, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

You know how Republicans are constantly saying that we folks who hate for people to get mowed down with a semi-automatic weapon ate playing politics?

Well, they need a mirror.

Under the “Name One, You Old Witch” category, we have this.

“Obviously, there’s a lot of politics in it. And it’s interesting that so many of these people that commit the mass murders end up being Democrats, but we don’t want to, the media doesn’t talk about that either.”

— Rep. Claudia Tenney (R-NY)

Under the “Don’t Show The Pain” category, we have this.

“Many in legacy media love mass shootings… Crying white mothers are ratings gold.”

— NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch

And the final one for this evening is from the Prince of Twitter.

Crooked Hillary said that I want guns brought into the school classroom. Wrong!

Donald Trump, May 21st, 2016.

  1. A spokesperson for the NRA says the media love mass shootings? If reporters “love” them, what term can you possibly apply to the enablers?

  2. Robert Pierce says:

    Stark, raving, lunatics. Barking mad.
We get an opportunity to put these RWNJ’s back into Pandora’s Box, if you will, in 8 short months. I suggest we do so.

  3. Jonathon Hubbert says:

Today trumplthinskin advocated putting firearms weapons in schools, schoolrooms, gymnasia, auditoria, even stadia … dressing rooms, offices & halls.

Hypocrisy – thy name & function is trumplthinskin & the trumpanzees.

  4. @ Robert Pierce

We all need to take 4 registered voters with us to the polls
Better yet if they are usually non voters. I”m getting mine lined up for the primary.

  5. Couple of points.
    1) Read elsewhere cannot remember whom to give credit. If it is to soon to speak of gun slaughter then it is to early to profit from it. Agree not to speak of massacres if all people making, selling, repairing or supplying these tools of murder are required to shut down completely until a “reasonable” amount of time passes to me that would be 40 years or more. No gun ranges, no ammunition sales, no gun shows complete shutdoen of the death industry.
    2) if the d’s continue to run and support quisling r’s like the one that claims the d slot in Penn., connor lamb, race. He loves his guns hates the working class (against mimiumun wage hike) and is a mole who with his r policy solutions will probably switch parties whenever his koch brothers political masters feel it will do the most damage to the D’s agenda and “brand”.
Such cowardice. if he had any political courage he would have run as the r he really is. Coward, flim flam man trying to scam the electorate.
    3) All these ideas about “hardening” schools to look like check point charlie and hire more armed guards. Besides the inherent stupidity of this the question becomes whats the price and how will it get paid for?
Kansas schools are bankrupt, Ok is already on 4 day schedule to save money in fact I do not know of any school district awash in the extra cash that would be needed to do this.

Plus on a personal note if there had been armed teachers when I went to school I may not have survived. And that includes the 8 years of nuns. Knuckles were already larger from ruler swacks. If they had had a gun well…….

    5
  6. Is this part of Cheeto Benito’s infrastructure plan? Walls around schools with armed guards everywhere?

And as for what Cheeto Benito says, well, presume it to be a lie unless shown to be otherwise.

  7. LaPierre et al. are really feeling the punch this time and it scares them. The kids have been very, very vocal and have even been brilliant. And they are either old enough o vote now or will be next year. Worse yet, they are way likely to run of public office. PTSD is not easily diminished. Their flashbacks and nightmares are going to keep them going until LaPierre says “I quit”.

Just gotta ask this question here and now: has anyone ever heard of a private school (include parochial) experiencing gun violence? If not, why not?

    7
  8. maggie
    My best guess.
Private schools can be selective not only on whom they admit but also who they keep. Expulsion from a private school is relatively easy compared to public schools who are mandated to educate everyone.

    8
  9. Ms Tenney needs to educate herself.

    9
  10. The private school mandate is to indoctrinate.

    10
  11. K, you are correct on the greater responsibility of public schools to accept and educate all. I would add that the very fact that parents pay to send their kids to private or parochial schools indicates an involvement that is not always seen in public schools, especially with parents of troubled kids.
As a longtime public school teacher, I was often reminded that I was not allowed to recommend psychological help even when it was obviously needed, because it might obligate the school district to pay for it. This may be why so many troubled kids don’t really get any effective help and it stinks!

  12. slipstream says:

Hey! slipstream gots a great idea!

Let’s take the Trump at his word that arming teachers will keep our students safe. But first, an experiment to demonstrate that this works really really well. The Secret Service stands down for the next year, and Trump is guarded by three teachers, each having a key to the cabinets in each room of the White House, each cabinet containing a handgun.

It’s your idea, Trump. You go first.

  13. Susan on the Left Coast says:

The NRA talking heads & the right wing mouthy ones always run to a microphone after each and every shooting slaughter to provide excuses for why the right to life is terminated time-after-time at the behest of gun manufacturers. It is they whom are the crisis actors.

  14. maryelle
A bit off subject but I am all for following the Finnish idea and ban all private schools. Everybody goes to public schools. That includes cult schools (parochial), and limit “home schooling to people who are more then 50 miles (as the crow flys) away from nearest school.
hawaii is a good bad example of what happens with strong private school system. You are spot on when you said
“I would add that the very fact that parents pay to send their kids to private or parochial schools indicates an involvement that is not always seen in public schools, especially with parents of troubled kids.”
The unfortunate corollary is that public schools are filled with students who’se families do not value education as much and the quality of the schools sink. Those, whose children are in private schools, will vote against school bonds since they do not benefit and those who are in public schools are generally lower income who vote against tax increases as a matter of affordability.

    14
  15. Slipstream: I love it!

    15
  16. BTW, there was an armed deputy on duty at the Florida school while the shooting was happening. He did nothing. Just saying to those two stupid women.

    16
  17. yet another baby boomer says:

Listening to NPR news this evening in my car before turning off the engine, some NRA guy talking about how if one little bit of 2nd amendment is restricted then we’ll begin to see all of our freedoms vanish. In the “give ’em an inch, they’ll take a mile” school of thought. It occurred to me for the first time, isn’t that exactly what the NRA has done? Gone from a well-regulated militia to militarized individual with his/her own armory? Talk about taking way more than a mile!
I couldn’t even listen to the rest of his lies, I had to get out of the car and stomp around around a bit to calm myself down.

    17
  18. How’s this for hipocracy….all RNC gatherings refuse to allow guns into the halls. I say let all concealed carriers bring their guns to these gatherings and see how these deplorables feel after the meeting. Oh and make sure the rest of us lay in plenty of popcorn.
