The French Kiss of Death

May 01, 2014 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Y’all, Rck Perry might as well hang it up.  Dick Morris has projected him the winner of the GOP Presidential nomination by making a big come back..

Having Dick Morris predict you’ll win is like having Karl Rove say it’s too early to call an election.

… the idea that Dick Morris’ predictions are so notoriously bad that you can generally assume that the opposite is true.

On the other hand, Morris and Perry look like they’d be a real cute couple.

Thanks to Kyle for the heads up.

Rick Perry will make awesome use of the sweetest perq in politics – OPM: Other People’s Money – to jet around the country surrounded by sycophants and attended by adoring crowds, feted by feckless millionaires and fawned over by FOX. He will have to spend a lot of time in Iowa, South Carolina and Florida, but he will visit lots of other places, too.

He will sell scads of whatever obligatory ghostwritten campaign book comes out later this year or early next, and he will raise scads of cash via PACs, Super PACs and his own campaign.

And none of it will be for real.

Ted Cruz will win Iowa. Perry will skip New Hampshire and go someplace warm, then suspend his campaign after Ted Cruz wins South Carolina.

In fact, for everyone who is NOT Ted Cruz (except for the eventual nominee, who will also be NOT Ted Cruz) the next 21 months will be one long infomercial, building their brands, selling their books and bathing in the sickly green RWNJ limelight.

Who will the Republican nominee be? I don’t know; I suspect it will be someone not even on the radar yet. But whoever it is will be a mere footnote to the election of the first woman, President Hillary Clinton.

Obviously my Panhandle/Big Country friends, foes, and family read the Morris headlines and believe every word…. then just become indignant and brain dead when the opposite becomes true. He should be ashamed of the sensational nature of his ignorant predictions. Oh… I forgot… he’s making big bucks off being such an oaf…laughing all the way to the bank. Gotta love that First Amendment.

Morris must live in the State of Denial: so wrong, so often.
He’s obviously taking big money to write what his benefactors want and could care less about accuracy.

  4. Wouldn’t that be special…another dim bulb like Bush.

  5. Fergive me, o people of the Sacred Salon. At the moment I just cannot think of any currently “unknown” RWNJ who will suddenly pop up among the dandelions and win the Rethug nomination. So many of the governors and congress critters from the RWNJ universe have sinned in some way or worse yet never made it to the front page and above the fold for any reason, good or bad. I think they are going to have to invent someone and given how good they are at committee work, their Elecambuffagator just ain’t gonna work!

  6. Hey, if not eventually indicted along with the Tennessee billionaire governor for the $300 Million scam on the UAW-VW-Chattanooga plant workers – look for current crook, Sen. Bob Corker – he has delusions of grandeur and spends a lot of time pretending he knows things…..particularly about the economy and foreign policy. He thinks that ‘Chatta Brogue’ is gonna be just the ‘charm’ he needs.

GAG ME. With a spoon even.

It won’t be a RWNJ, maggie. Those will all cancel each other out. I’m just saying I have a sneaking suspicion that it will be a name NOT among the current gaggle. Not an unknown, per se, but someone like a Mitch Daniels or Jon Huntsman (NOT them, but someone like them).

I just have the feeling that the Tea Party has about played out its string, in terms of national electoral politics. The GOP will turn to someone perceived as moderate, with a small record to pin on them, preferably who can self-fund to a large degree.

Then the RWNJ will be selected for veep.

Prognosticating about 2016 may be a fun parlor game, but I don’t want to play. My concern is 2014. Help everyone register, and convince them of the necessity of voting in every primary, and every general, every year. Remember, WMDBS patrons, it’s not Republican voters alone (or even gerrymandering) that elect rightwing nutjobs. It’s Independents and Democrats who stay home!
