Shocking

September 05, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Let’s mosey on up to Vermont where family values State Senator Norman H. McAllister, a 68 year old Republican, got himself arrested last week.

Screen Shot 2015-09-05 at 8.41.09 AMA Vermont state senator has pleaded not guilty to three felony counts of sexual assault and three misdemeanors of prohibited acts, the charges arising from what police describe as a sex-for-rent scheme involving several unwilling tenants.

Prosecutors allege Sen. Norman H. McAllister, R-Franklin, over a period of several years sexually assaulted two women who were his tenants and employees, and that he attempted to solicit a third woman.

I am shocked, shocked I tell you.  There’s a Republican in Vermont?

Thanks to Wyatt Earl for the heads up.

  1. Family Values almost always translates into “Women are property”, or some variation thereof.

    1
  2. Republican family values is ‘sex for me but not for thee’ which is why they are obsessed over other people having fun and consensual sex. They have to force women into having sex with them because they’re such creepy dirtbags.

  3. Yeah, he’s one of the few Republicans in Vermont, that’s why he’s in trouble. If there were more Republicans there he would have messed around them them…..like they do the in Michigan legislature as well as several other states.

    Amen, glf … AMEN!!!

  5. Chloe Bear says:

I remember an almost identical republic/villan/story a few months ago involving tenants and animals.

  7. Polite Kool Marxist says:

If only schizoid politics was contained to a few states, we might not have had 8 gruesome years of Dubya. Unfortunately wingnuttery has no boundaries. “Liberal” Massachusetts known for Senator Warren also once elected Scott Brown. The mirror states, NH and Vermont, are known for many liberal policies and elect a few more Democrats than Republicons. But on the ‘all politics are local’ level, way too many stingy one issue idiots run for things like local budget committees and school boards to “defend” their property taxes.

The irony of Republicons wanting to defund Planned Parenthood, when one might think they would be against taxpayer funding for those little blue pills that keep Republicon politicians acting crazy beyond their expiration dates.

  8. That is the worst rental agreement I’ve ever heard of. Was it 50 pages long like an Apple iTunes EULA? An agreement so long no human can possibly have the time to read it, or understand it so you just click “I have read the terms…”
Or did he use a lot of fine print?

No rental unit is worth what he was asking.

  9. There was until some years ago one Republican Senator (Jim Jeffords) who got so fed up with that particular dog and pony show that he switched his brand to Democrat. When you see that happen, you know just how bad it is!

    9
  10. @ Chloe Bear – It’s the same guy. He was arrested and arraigned in May.

  11. JJ must have decided he deserves a double whammy!

    11
  12. Thanks UmptyDump!

    12
  13. Family values, moral majority etc. What huge beastly hypocrites
conservatives are. Those women must have felt absolutely defenseless against a sitting senator. Thank god they got that monster.

    13
  14. Actually, Vermont is a very conservative place, but the brand of conservatism practiced there is of the “I won’t mess with my neighbors if they don’t mess with me; otherwise, live and let live” variety.

An attitude which is considered to be “liberal” by the modern GOP.

    Vermont is better than him.

    15
  16. Just about any place is better than him.

  17. Remember when Bernie was running for Congress and then the Senate? Well some of those Republicans had both Republican signs on their lawns and Bernie signs. So, yes we have Republicans up here but Bernie never had a problem with
talking to them, much like he is in the Red States, and in our neck of the woods he made a lot of sense to them so they supported him. Though I suspect this guy wasn’t one of them.
Vermont, BTW used to be all Republican, They put no slavery in their consitution, and voted for Lincoln and stayed Republican until Jeffords. See Maggie above.
We are a live and let live group but not rugged individualists, we help our neighbors when they need help. I suspect it comes from trying to survive long winters.

    17
  18. He may be a hypocritical family values man, but hYpocrisy is not illegal. It is possible that the women offered sex in return for reduced rent and later claimed that he pushed them into it. We should not rush to judge.

    18
  19. Joe, even if the women made the offer because they wanted a roof over their heads, even if they begged him, he should have said No. A person with decent moral values would have said No. That sleeze ball has no excuse.

The Minnesota Republican legislators caught half naked by the park police continue to insist they were merely exchanging documents. Sure. Doesn’t everyone take off their clothes to exchange docs? Ot is that’s what It is called nowadays? “Exchanging documents?”

  20. Edward Starsmith says:

Juanita, you know I love you. I really do. But dear, this happened back in May of this year. It’s been all over the news and has died.

There is enough Republican garbage to go around without digging up stuff from four months ago.

  21. Sex obtained by threats–threat of eviction, for example–is rape.

Sex obtained in lieu of rent has a monetary value, in which case I hope this guy paid the appropriate taxes.

    21
  22. I live in this Bozo’s county and we are circulating a petition to get him gone.

This is one of the two most conservative counties in Vermont, but even that is a relative term here. Shifting demographics will probably bring us more into step with the rest of the state, but we can’t wait for that to get rid of this abuser. He probably has the most conservative voting record in the state and recently proposed a bill that would require cyclists to buy license so they would share the cost of maintaining roads!

Of course he opposed GMO labelling, gay marriage and death with dignity bills; all of which passed in Vermont.

He was recorded by the state’s attorney discussing the details with two of his victims over the phone (with their permission,) and the less salacious admissions were printed in the local paper;so we have the goods on him even though he is in complete denial.

His Republican colleagues can’t even move him so they are facing an ugly election cycle next year.

Our website is in the midst of a lull while we change platforms, but once we’re up and running, I’ll be sure to share a link to yours with our Vermont readers! Keep it up!

  23. VeeGeeinVT says:

And, being a Republican, he refuses to resign his Senate seat.

    23
  24. I knew the man a long time ago. He lived in the town where I worked.

The town used to be a very strong, farming community. Drugs is a major problem in that neck of the woods. Right on the Canadian border

    24
  25. My (NH) grandfather’s generation (WWI) were staunch, dare I say raving, Libertarians, right up until they experienced the disaster of slimeball all-for-me conservatives that screwed communities over due to their (the communities) inherent anti-regulation bias. The sad fact is the regulation of water and food purity is a result of experience. When conservatives of today rail against governmental overreach, it is because they’ve never experienced the result of the *lack* of regulation.

Thank goodness for the bravery of the victims in coming forward…

    25
  26. Personally, what shocks me is the number of customers you (Junitajean) have in Vermont!

    26
  27. oh c’mon now, this can’t possibly be true! the guy’s clearly a stud muffin, he wouldn’t have to force himself on, or pay women to have sex with him.

wait, that was a picture of one his goats I was looking at. sorry!

    27
  28. Debbo:

That should be exchanging dicuments. Right?
