Saturday Fun

April 15, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Pete Souza has been called “King of Instagram Shade” by Politico.  He’s the former White House photographer.

For the past few months, Souza has used his personal Instagram account to post photos from the Obama administration that seem, or he admits are, deliberately timed to a make a point about whatever Trump story has overtaken the news cycle.

Enjoy!

    Sigh. Those were the days.

  2. See I told you Trump was put in as a liberal plot to make the black guy look good. And its working.

  3. Jane & PKM says:

Ms. Juanita Jean Herownself, thank you. We did enjoy! That was the equivalent of a nice head massage with a shoulder rub thrown in after the trauma of this week with Dolt45.

Maybe the graphics talents of whom John and Primo are among the best will give Donnie the ultimate slap down in a more subtle manner. Donnie isn’t fit to caddy for President Obama. Dolt45 is “the man” only when the snacilbupeR are in need of someone who makes Dubya look good. So, how about a side by side pictorial review of Dubya and Dolt45? Donnie says, tweets or does something nukular insane followed by examples of the “new” Dubya merely being ‘lovably’ st00pid during his 8 years in office.

  4. Thank you that was nice. We may not have agreed with everything in Obama’s administration. I do think President Obama will be remembered as one of the Best. Lovely First Lady, terrific kids. Now I have been thinking ” what pet would be appropriate for this administration”, Bannon does not count as a pet. Thinking about it.

Re: Maymoon 4 – Oh no, no, no, no. This is one White House admin that should never have a pet. The way those horrid people regard other human beings does not augur well for an animal. I shudder to think how some poor creature would be abused and neglected.
Your comment about Bannon made me guffaw. But then I’ve never understood how folks can consider reptiles pets. Perhaps Ivanka could be a stand-in for a posh Afghan hound? Or maybe Melania is already the ignored pet?

  6. This depressed me a little. How we could go from Obama to the orange buffoon is a tragedy to the nation.

As to the pet, a feces-throwing orangutan, of course. Wait – never mind. That would be to confusing to the press to decipher which was the pet and which was the POTUS.

    6
  7. “too”, not “to”.

  8. It was the best of times
It is the worst of times
It was the age of wisdom
It is the age of foolishness
It was the epoch of belief (and hope)
It is the epoch of incredulity…

    (with apologies to Dickens)

  9. Speaking of the idiocy of Orange Whore compared to the cool and classy Obama’s, here’s video of the first protest in space, and it ain’t directed at 44.

Rick, thanks for the quote from Tale of Two (Cities) er Presidents. And thanks to J.J. for the Souza pics: A reminder of how far we have fallen in such a short time.
Now that we have Kim Don Trump threatening to start World War III, it all seems so hopeless.

  11. Old Quaker (Colorado) says:

The Obama family, including Grandma, were a classy First Family.
The Trump klan, minus Mom & Baron, unethical pirates.

  12. Saw one of today’s cheap T-shirt offers and thought at once of the current WH people:

  13. Marge Wood says:

Wonderful photos. Instead of going off and sulking, our national photographer continues to show the world how things were and how they could be. Long may his lenses record THE TRUTH.

    13
  14. e platypus onion says:

Seems like forever since we last had competence in the WH. Has it really only been Drumpf eons ago?

Gawd I miss Obama’s grace and class and non-vindictiveness. His family was truly an inspiration and the whole administration screamed professionalism.

    14
  15. e platypus onion says:

Good one, Debbo. but I can guarantee you I did not watch the entire video. Waaaay tooooooooo loooonggggg!

    15
  16. e platypus onion says:

    Your’s too, Fhea.

    16
  17. Jane & PKM says:

Marge Wood, true dat! We’re loving it that Pete Sousa has created a photo array that has gone viral. Can’t offer an accurate percentage, but many blogger and journalists who wrote today have included a Pete Sousa contrast & compare photo to reinforce their points.

To sweeten the pot, both President Obama and Orange Foolius (assuming Dolt45 hasn’t been taken to a psychiatric center) will be in Germany May 25th. What an opportunity for more compare and contrast photographs! And, for further schadenfreude, German cartoonists are known for their acerbic wit. If he is still around, Donnie is in for a sad.

Rhea-sorry. Got sloppy index fingers today and yesterday.

  19. If you notice all the naturally charming and likable/loveable people all seem to have come from families who were just exactly that way. There doesn’t seem to have been a single cuckoo from such a nest. tRump was the baby of his family. This may mean that all he ever saw of his siblings when he was a very, very young child were a lot of comings and goings. He may have been considered too young to be involved in the society of the family. None of his surviving siblings seem to have his problems, such as the problems that led to installation in schools thought to be designed to handle his “problems”.

And yes I do miss the grown up predecessor in the Oval Office. I am so very pleased to see photos of him really enjoying the daylights out of his new life. His family seems to be doing much the same.

  20. e platypus onion says:

Did any of you see Melania’s WH portrait? They airbrushed about 25 years off her life. It was almost ridiculous when compared to inauguration pics.

    20
  21. Tilphousia says:

Didn’t see Melania’s photo. Too bad all that anyone there cares about is that she looks like a model. Also too bad she hasn’t one ounce of the grace and class shown by Michele Obama. The photos showed an intelligent, compassionate man. What a contrast to the mangled apricot hellbeast, who is insane cruelty personified, and stupid.
As for a “pet”. I would recommend a brown recluse spider. She can defend herself quite well.

    21
  22. Taking a breather here . . . everyone, I hope you have a Happy and Blessed Easter! The sun still rises.

Don’t scare the children with the size of this portrait, but you really need to see the rock she is wearing. ps she is looking forward to serving Americans for years to come.

    23
  24. Just got back from church . . . Melania’s portrait is actually a great big photo. I was actually expecting something like the Jackie Kennedy oil portrait which shows her full length in a white gown and she is actually looking a bit to one side. Now that is a portrait! Apparently this current bunch cannot tell the difference. Yes, the photo is technically a really good one. Must confess that the blush Melania wears looks like sunburn. Yes, I know that ambient lighting can soak all the natural color out of the human face but this much blush? Constantly? Plus the choice of the black over priced haute couture outfit looks as if somebody died, but yes, it was all to make the diamond look even bigger and brighter. Hey, when you’ve got IT like Jackie had, you don’t need to play such games. And as for the ring, its a skating rink. How can she hold up that hand without a sling? Still prefer the sapphire ring Duchess Kate wears. Its beautiful and different. Its provenance damn near makes me weep when I think of what happened to the original owner.

    24
  25. Marge Wood says:

We need to pass a law saying that no presidents can gouge taxpayers for expenses of business trips or let their grown families live in the White House at our expense. Also, we furnish the White House for their use so if they want to live somewhere else, they can pay for it. Seems like i heard about a law being cobbled together to that effect. First, we have to elect more Democrats or not-GOPs.
Donnie and Melania doubtless deserve each other but I feel sorry for her. She pays a high price for the baubles.

    25
  26. Mr Sousa to a lovely picture of my wife as she helped President Obama select some books for his daughters. It was the day the ACA passed.

Didn’t see the Easter Bunny today. I’m a bit worried that he may have been deported.

Whoa up there, Slip. No Easter Bunny portends no Easter Lynx-right? They are on the same feast/famine cycle in interior Alaska.
