Rolling on the River

I know this is going to come as no shock to you, but Acting Attorney General Matthew Whitaker lied on his resume about being an Academic All American.

He apparently flitted from job to job with a big fat lie on his resume.  He says he was named Academic All American while in college playing football at the University of Iowa.

Mr. Whitaker, who was a tight end on the Iowa team from 1990 to 1992, claimed to have been an Academic All-American in his biography on his former law firm’s website and on a résumé sent in 2014 to the chief executive of a now-closed patent-marketing firm, for which he sat on the advisory board. The résumé was included in documents released last month by the Federal Trade Commission.

Mr. Whitaker made the same claim in a 2010 application for an Iowa judgeship. A Justice Department press release, issued in 2009 when Mr. Whitaker left his post as U.S. Attorney in Iowa, said he had been “an academic All-American football player.”

So this isn’t like a typo.

Well, that would be nice had he won it. And I am certain that some University of Iowa football players qualified for it. However, Whitaker was not one of them.

Barb Kowal, a spokeswoman for the awarding organization, also known as CoSIDA, said the group has no record that Mr. Whitaker was ever an Academic All-American.

He won some lesser award, and before you snort-laugh, yes, there are laser “awards.”

I dunno, I think maybe lying with impunity is a job qualification in the Trump administration.

  1. Why am I not surprised?

  2. I hope he didn’t suffer inoperable bone spurs after playing football at Iowa. Obviously the concussions affected his memory.

  3. Again I must ask why are the d’s and other good gov. orgs. ( CREW, ACLU etc) jumping up and down for the supreme court to fast track the legality of his appointment?
Remember the hoopla everytime Obama’s AG’s even sneezed. But this whack job is allowed to continue to just keep cruising while the judiciary work to protect him.

Curious as to just what those “laser” awards might be!

K … did you leave out the word “not” in that first sentence? Unless, of course, “Again I must ask why are the d’s and other good gov. orgs. (CREW, ACLU, etc.) (NOT) jumping up and down for the supreme court to fast track the legality of his appointment?”
Maybe they are and maybe they’re NOT … Hmmmmm!!!

  5. How sad is it that after the acting AG has been found to have falsified his resume, we can expect nothing to happen about it from GOPs in the government (and the rest of the world for that matter). The same people that screamed about how corrupt the last administration was just shrug and do a “So?”.

If they are not held to this standard like Lecter’s face was held by his mask, we are to blame in the “fool me twice^” mode of things…

^ Yeah, yeah. I know that it’d more like twenty gazillion times, but the rhyme goes…

  6. Resume plumping . . . hmmm . . . no recriminations from the GOP side . . . leaves a body to wonder how many of them have done the same thing with their resumes. Of course, this is a guy. Now if it had been a female, there would be hell to pay. Fortunately, the Dems will be in charge of the House as of Jan. 1. Junk resume of a wanna be AG had picked by the prez will definitely go into the bag with all there best of the totally smelly stuff this maladministration has done and then be released in time for 2020!

  7. Acting Meatball Whitaker lied. Check. First qualification to be part of the Dotard45 maladministration. Acting AG, Acting Sec o Def, and Acting pResident …. all bad actors.

Move it up Mr. Mueller, Congress, somebody … anyone! If someone doesn’t step up to 25 the 45, it’ll be up to “we the people” and you know, revolutions generally are not pretty.

Chances of a coup? Were they greater with McMasters, Kelly and Mattis on the inside, or have the chances improved with those 3 exiting? Coups normally are not the best option for the populace, but Donnie is not normal circumstances.

Impeachment, 25th Amendment, revolution, coup … whatever … I really don’t care. Just please someone pick one! Soon.

Thank you for catching my oversight
Yes I forgot the “not” in first sentence

  9. Nothing that comes out about this guy’s dubious background and qualifications should surprise anyone. Remember, it was W, the Moron from Midland who named this putz as a U.S. attorney after firing all the competent ones for refusing to pursue bogus claims of voter fraud during the 2004 election or for not being loyal Bushies. Sound familiar?

Thank You it is important that people realize that demented donnie was the natural evolution of the toxic thuglicans. On presidential level it started with tricky dick being a crook and has been a fast elevator ride down into the pits of the pschopaths, frauds, liars, crooks and just plain trash.
This descent has been speeded up by addled ronnie, perjurer poppa ( and his pardon enableing AG barr) the twit and now this piece of toxic waste.
Do not let thiglicans pretend that he is an aberration. This is what they have dreamed about ever since they were told stories of how by their embittered old grandparents who could never forgive FDR for saveing capitalism.
