Republican Faces Republican
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has taken a tough stand against his fellow Republican Blake Farenthold.
Greg thinks Blake ought to pay back the $84,000 he scammed from the federal government, but … and here’s the grandstanding … Greg thinks Blake should give the $84,000 to Texas, not the federal government.
Do you want to know Greg’s reasoning? Greg contends that Blake should pay for the special election that Greg called to replace him until November when there’s a regular election.
The only problem with that is that the Governor did not have to call a special election. The Governor chose to have one solely to give Republicans one more vote in Congress between now and November, which they sure the hell don’t need in the first place.
So, the way I see it, Blake owes the federal government $84,000 and the State of Texas about a million for the special election. And, hey, Greg Abbott should help pay for that, too. He’s the one who wanted this damn thing.
Republicans: we’re gonna get your money any damn way we can.
For some reason this situation with Ducky Boy and the Governor reminds me of Doyle Lonnegan (Robert Shaw) in The Sting saying “What was I supposed to do – call him out for cheating better than me, …?”
1I don’t know this has the “magical pixie dust” feel of “trickle down theory” and “being tired of winning”. A Repub paying their debts, willingly? With their own money?

2Ummm, I can’t believe that neither the Guv nor Ducky Boy have a single functioning brain cell between them. Playing fast and loose with the $84 grand can get them a house call by the feds on charges such as theft and aiding and abetting theft. And the Guv is supposed to be a lawyer???

5Are you sure his calls for reimbursement aren’t for the party since after demented donnie milks the party funds for every penny ( Lawyers, renting Office in drumpf tower, staying in drumpf roachtraps etc) that they are becoming worried that there won’t be enough left for campaign.
