Public Announcement

July 05, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

I have a strongly held religious belief against stealing and/or smuggling ancient artifacts.

But, I guess that’s just me, you know.

Shame on you, self-righteous Hobby Lobby.

Birth control = sin

Smuggling = okay!

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Be social and share!

Forfeiture? Really? That’s it for those criminals? Self righteous dickishness should have a mandatory sentencing law. “Voluntary” neutering, forfeiture of all assets, banishment of their entire scam dam* family and 50 years in prison in the country from which the artifacts were stolen would be a good start.

Oh, add ship them out on a slow boat equipped for beacon bombing exercises.

  2. This is not just smuggling. This is stealing artifacts from the Iraqi people, and from historians, which means from all of us who would lose the information that these objects can tell us about their world. And they knew damn well what they were doing.

“Thou shalt not let thy employees use birth control” is not a commandment in their holy book.

    “Thou shalt not steal” IS.

Why does this not surprise me?

    Sad.

  4. For political reasons I detest Hobby Lobby and grind when my little bride or one of my teacher-kids spend money there. Now I can add “criminal” to my Hobby Lobby rant. Thanks for being scummier than I first believed H-L.

  6. There’s stealing and bearing false witness for starters, but I’m sure if you could trace the circuitous route the cuneiform tablets traveled, we might have a whole handful of broken commandments.

Rick, the snacilbupeR are not real tuned into multisyllabic words. Decalogue and decadent obviously are twisted in their tiny little dickish heads.

Mama, please stop reading, put down the soap and whatever you do *** do not open the following link *** It’s not that bad, but I feel I’ve tried your patience enough for one day. I promise tomorrow I’ll look for better synonyms to my apparent word of the day.

But today, offensively unpleasant and vexatious are not taking me where I need to be to describe Donnie and the snacilbupeR.

  8. Jane & PKM: That produced a snort/laugh. Thanks.

  9. Okay, this story is probably gonna provide late-night material for a year. But I can’t come up with crap. The best I got? “Hobby Lobby Owners Punked, Israeli agents sell Evangelical millionaire fake Ten Commandments translation tablets” They pitched it as The Bagdad Stones”

  10. Robby Lobby

    A crafty corp. once opined
    To provide contraceptives isn’t divine
    But to procure stolen goods
    From other folks hoods
    Makes ones Hobby quite divisive
    Particulary when it benefits ISIS!

    10
  11. But…but…Mr. Green only did it because he loves the Bible.

“We have accepted responsibility and learned a great deal,” said Green. “Our entire team is committed to the highest standards for investigating and acquiring these items. Our passion for the Bible continues, and we will do all that we can to support the efforts to conserve items that will help illuminate and enhance our understanding of this Great Book.”

    So, it’s all OK, right?

    11
  12. Linda Phipps says:

It’s not just smuggling any artifacts: it’s stealing from another religion. I suppose they will pretend they are preserving a bit of Islam. I would not be irritated by this if they had smuggled a bit of wood from Ken Ham’s preposterous Ark.

    12
  13. Read the buyBull lately? The hebrews killed, robbed, & destroyed their way across the lands!!!! Of coarse theft is OK!

    13
  14. We are getting a hobby lobby soon in our mall.
I will not give them a penny.
They are are a disgusting company.

    14
  15. Can only imagine the spiel someone dumped in their ear about the provenance of the items. Ugh! Do not even want to think about it. Well, grifters they are and boy!they sure got grifted by another grifter. The circle is then unbroken. And ten to one they weren’t “violating” any of their own code cuz they are certain sure that they were already forgiven. Sigh. Now if this only leads to the closure of their stores or the assets are bought up by somebody with a heart and a brain and the whole company culture is vastly improved! There I go again. Making wishes.

  16. That Other Jean says:

So much for Hobby Lobby’s vaunted super-superior Christianity. They insist upon “Thou shalt not use birth control,” which isn’t in the Bible, and breeze right on by “Thou shalt not steal” and “Thou shalt not bear false witness,” which are. Talk about cherry-picking! I hope it takes a bit more of an apology than “Ooops! My bad!” to keep their customers, but I doubt it.

    16
  17. We’re fortunate to have 3 craft stores in our bug (plus decent craft sections in our local Wally Worlds), so I haven’t found a need to set foot in Hobby Lobby since the birth control bruhaha. Add this to my list of reasons never to go in there…

It’s the old “Do as I say,not as I do” ploy so often employed by grifters who are dressed in KKKristian clothing. Get out the glue guns and make them pay!

  21. eyesoars says:

It seems to me that this isn’t the first time something like this has come up with the Green family. Am I just getting old and feeble-minded, or have they been caught smuggling middle-eastern artifacts before?

    21
  22. Tilphousia says:

The hypocritical bastards of Hobby Lobby got caught – this time. How many times has that unChristian family gotten away with their theft of illegal antiquities? They need to be investigated for the past 40 years. Green isn’t interested in the bible, he’s interested in what he can steal from a country torn apart by a war he supported. Now we know one reason rethugs are so eager to promote middle eastern strife — they can more easily loot, steal, remove other people’s property, whatever term is used. It’s still theft. If Green and co had been caught themselves they just might have returned minus a hand. A fitting punishment considering the country and people they stole from. Them 40 years in that country’s penal system.

    22
  23. Maymoon says:

Their stand on birth control was enough to make me not shop there. This theft is just another crime. On how the righteous have fallen!

    23
  24. Deb is correct as well as a great poet.

Now that DOJ has the artifacts, they need to follow the money. Did the Green family fund ISIS or another terrorist organization by buying these looted national treasures? This case is not closed.

Wish I could hold a congressional hearing on the money trail here … but I need to get elected first!

    24
  25. They were going to put the tablets in their buybull museum. Fake tablets in a fake museum. Perfect wing nut religion.
