Professional Plagiarism

January 10, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Well, you’ve heard that alleged president elect Trump’s nominee for senior director of strategic communications for the National Security Council, Monica Crowley, plagiarized large portion of her book.

Well, come to find out, she also plagiarized large portions of her PhD dissertation.

But making money off other people’s work is what the 1% does.

Despite the news, the Trump team continues to support the appointment. “Any attempt to discredit Monica is nothing more than a politically motivated attack that seeks to distract from the real issues facing this country,” a transition spokesperson told CNN. The transition team did not reply to requests for comment for this story.

Her appointment to the National Security Council does not require Senate confirmation, but simply the nod of approval from Melania Trump.

  1. I had no idea irony is such a hard concept to grasp. And they’re swimming in it.

Lemmesee here, if mah cardiologist-neurologist-allergist-GP-brain surgeons merely plagiarized their way through medical school, that’s quite all right and one shouldn’t worry about it at all, just lie down there in the OR and let the anesthesiologist get busy (even if s/he plagiarized their way too), so the show can begin, eh?

I think that a PhD in any field represents a similar level of study, discipline and commitment as a medical MD degree, doesn’t it? And if an MD degree were fraudulently obtained that person would be rightly censured, with severely constrained career potentials?

Even allowing for the probable fact that Ms. Monica’s PhD whatever it is isn’t a prerequisite, nor necessary for that particular position, just the fact that it’s “fraudulent” should disqualify someone at that level in OUR government, right? Just on general character and suitability for purpose grounds.
Oh…wait…this is the ‘Fraudster’s-R-Us’ maladministration oozing into DeeCee. I get it, (drumroll): IOKIYAR, a resume full of fraud, deceit, cheating, prevarication, rape and pillaging is a big plus in RepLand.
Can you just imagine the yowling and howling if any Democratic appointee-candidate-officeholder had such faults…
oh…wait…D’s don’t need any actual, real problems to be torn to bits by the Rabid Rastards, any old false allegation will work jes fine.

  7. The Trump Circus signaled a long time ago that ethical transgressions like plagiarism mattered not at all. We’ve got that Gen. Flynn conspiracy theorist in charge of our military, Bannon, the right wing don, counseling the un-president, the not-first lady lying thru her teeth that she wrote her convention speech (courtesy of the real First Lady), the un-president dissing the American Intelligence Community by quoting Assange. Now it seems, Bobby Kennedy Jr. has been recruited by Dumbo to head a witch hunt on doctors and scientists who advocate for vaccinations, even after the link to autism has been debunked over and over. We truly have descended into the Dark Ages of Misinformation.

  8. @Sandridge, I’ve done some hirin’ and firin’ in my time and, believe you me, if someone falsified their resume, they were GONE! Never trust a liar or someone who takes credit for another’s work.

That is, in a nutshell. Drumpf’s entire life. His entire persona is crafted from taking credit for stuff he had nothing to do with.

That’s how Richard Cohen refers to Crowley, Kellyanne Goebels, and the others. In fact, Mr. Cohen eviscerated them in Wapo and recommends the use of Amendment Number 25 to chase the cocksplat out of office and back into his dark, dirty burrow with the rest of the vermin. It’s a fun read.

Right, me too. Tangling with those ‘idea stealers’ really chapped my ass, since that was one of my +’s: good ideas, creative, innovation, etc. Then some worthless sidetracked corporate drone slimeball tries to take credit.

  14. Oh Monica, Monica. Back when you used to sing W’s praises so shrilly on the McCloughlin Group that I took to muting the teevee every time you opened your mouth, I always knew there was something about you. Something shady and not quite above board. I didn’t, however, know that you were living a plagiarized life.
