Okay, That’s Good

My faith in the rule of law is comforted.

So the president can’t override the constitution by executive order.

The ball is in your court, Trump.

  1. A bit off topic, but our local chapter of ACLU is in class tomorrow making plans to fight all the way

Kudos to my local federal judge!

One question; if this is workable, why didn’t Bitch Mconnell try this with Obama?

Charles Phillips: Would you mind explaining that, please?

  5. Agree, JAKV, when did President Obama try to override the Constitution? Charlie?

  6. WA Skeptic says:

Could it be due to the fact that POTUS Obama didn’t do anything UNconstitutional?

  7. Uh . . . https://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/despite-this-weeks-victories-obama-has-struggled-at-the-supreme-court/

Folks, this isn’t some right wing nut case site that this comes from, it’s Nate Silver at 538. Obama won a good number of large cases, but the administration struggled in lesser cases, some of which were legacy cases from previous administrations.

  8. That said, it would be wonderful for Con Man Don’s record to be a flat 100% losses in court.

Trump will be putting out an indignant tweet at 6 AM tomorrow. Wait for it.

…FOR NOW. Not until he packs the court. Then the neocons and alt right can do whatever they please.

Donnie has shot himself in the foot, but the credibility he has lost is with we sane folks with whom he never had any credibility. Unfortunately, he has damaged US credibility around the world and sewn distrust of our immigration system.

Chaos and uncertainty are dangerous. Those with legal student visas are afraid to go home for a visit for fear of being denied re-entry. This is a direct threat to our brain trust and innovation capabilities. Doctors, engineers, entrepreneurs and those with basic energetic can do spirit will opt for friendlier places like Canada and Australia, maybe even Russia and China is Donnie and Bannon continue their chaotic autocratic ways.

  12. He referred to the judge as a “so-called judge”. Nominated by GWB and confirmed 99-0. The so-called president really needs to learn something about something. He is such a low life.

  13. Primo Encarnación says:

“The ball is in your court, Trump…”

But the court has got your balls.

    13
  14. The ball may be in Trump’s court, but give him four years of appointments and the courts may belong to him and his kind. He’s already in line to steal a Supreme Court seat and make what could have been a liberal court (I voted for Hillary) into a radical far-right regime.

This is why it is important to win elections.

  15. Hey, remember that if Gorsuch does get in, he will be under the eyes of the two justices who once employed him as a clerk. You know, Kennedy and whatizname (loooong day!). Neil boy is going to have to deal with that on top of everything else, such as how the conservatives will be constantly reminding him that he sits in Scalia’s seat. Oh, my minnow size wow!
