Now We Need A Wall. A Huge One. Now. *EDITED AT BOTTOM*

Okay, so you’ve probably heard that the social misfits who follow Outlaw Cliven Bundy have taken over a national park headquarters.

Militia members protesting a federal prison sentence for two Oregon ranchers convicted on charges of setting fire to federal land have occupied the headquarters of a national park, the OregonLive reports.

The protesters include Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy’s son, Ammon, and two of his brothers. Also among them is Ryan Payne, who organized snipers to aim weapons at federal officers during the Bundy Ranch standoff last year.

They told OregonLive that they are accompanied by about 150 others and are hunkered down at Malheur National Wildlife Refuge headquarters. The group is described by reporter Les Zaitz as “hard core militia” who adopted the ranchers’ cause as their own.

I give it three months to become Lord of the Flies.

I give it six months before there’s kool-aid involved.

Ammon Bundy told reporters, “We’re planning on staying here for years, absolutely. This is not a decision we’ve made at the last minute.”

So they are hold-up in a national park headquarters.  Let’s build a damn wall.  You know, like a mile high, completely surrounding that building.  No doors, no windows.

Now I want you to consider this: Let’s pretend it was Muslims who set federal land a’blaze and that Muslims overtook a federal building. In your wildest dreams imagine Fox News and Ted Cruz having a snarling cat over that.

Thanks to Charles for the heads up.

  4. charlie, that is hilarious! Can I use it? With proper attribution, of course.

  5. The general facts seem to be as follows….. Actual number inside seems to be 6 to 12, including three Bundy family members. They claim to have a generator and food. I agree with the majority of other commenters that we just need to contain them and wait them out. I like the playing of music like hip hop and such. To them it would be as pleasant as water boarding.

I seem to disagree with almost everyone; there should be no music at all. No big mass law enforcement gathered, no great blitz of publicity, no fuss whatsoever.

These mentally-challenged road ragers need isolation. Quiet, lonely, boring isolation. No noise, no action, no blather to get their blood up. Isolation. When they realize how little they are in the real world, they will slink out.

    6
  7. The two things law enforcement needs to do is disrupt both wi-fi and cell phone service, and close the roads in. Take away their internet and TV and turn the months into days. You know this bunch didn’t bring any books. 😉

Carpet bomb them. Time to see if wingnut heads glow in the forest.

I keep fergettin’ all those times jeebus picked up an AK (cause they are cheaper and more reliable than US made assault weapons) and smited the crap out of Phillistines. Jawbones of right wing asses are so cheaply made anymore. Of course, for the movie, wingnuts spray painted jeebus lily white because he looked too un-American as a swarthy middle-easterner.They wanted to coiff his hair but no kristian barber would shear a Jew-religious freedumb, doncha know.

  9. Cut the power. Probably well water. No electricity..no water. Eat snow. Gonna get mighty cold. Generator won’t work without fuel of some sort.

And now, the President of the United States:

    My fellow Americans –

Within the United States f America, we live by the rule of law. This protects and challenges each of us, leaving us to enjoy our freedoms with very few checks or hindrances. When it works right, it is a sight to behold, and a beacon for humanity.

But there are times, when the system is broken, that unilateral action must be taken, not just to protect our freedoms, but to protect our life and health, and that of our families, and that of our fellow Americans.

Therefore, after much consultation with White House Counsel, the Justice Department, and my own conscience, I have decided to take the following executive action:

Henceforth, the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge will be known as the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge and Federal Penitentiary.

I have instructed the Department of Corrections to string fence and concertina wire around it, and to play the Eagles’ “Hotel California” constantly at high volume, to remind the Mormo-fascist terrorists who have self-incarcerated that you can check out any time you like…

  11. daChipster, fabulous! All those he-men wouldn’t be there for any reason if there weren’t indoor plumbing, a heating plant and drinkable water. Soldiers at Valley Forge they are NOT! Its just like someone else said: the stupid are too stupid to know they are stupid!

Anyone caring to ‘understand’ the Bundy boys should start with a little research on the FLDS; not to be confused with the LDS, or mainstream Mormons. Some of you might remember Warren Jeffs. These clowns are a problem in isolated border areas of Utah, Nevada and Arizona.

    12
  13. if you’re going to put a brick wall around the building, be sure it’s base is a good 20-30 feet below ground level, don’t want them tunneling their way out. next, remember to cap that circular wall, don’t want one of their buddies with a chopper getting in there, or them climbing their way out, though I doubt most of them are in good enough shape to climb a 100 feet, straight up. be sure to put narrow slits on the roof, so they can breathe, then just……………………go away.

daChipster: You have seriously got to get on radio, man! That right there is fake newscaster comedy gold!

  15. It would be easy to isolate these guys. The refuge bldg is almost 6 miles off the main road. Trekking cross country would be tough as it’s cold and if there were enough law enforcement the yahoos would be easy to catch. No food in, no more people in, no press (for gawd’s sake, what the heck are these guys doing on national tv?), cut/block their cell phone service, cut the power and water. Isolation. It’s below freezing. While there’s not much going on in the refuge, important bird migration will be starting in a few months. These bozos need to be GONE well before then.

    15
  16. They are appealing for warm socks, snacks, red bull drink to be sent via USPS (that gummint agency) after a week they will be crying for their mommas.

  18. Lunargent says:

One very important addition, besides blocking all traffic in and out:
Drones. Many, many drones. Not armed ones, of course, because it’s illegal to use those on American citizens, regardless of how Unamerican their behavior may be. But lots of surveillance. All admissible in court, one would hope. If they cut down trees on Federal land for fuel, that’s a Federal crime. If they shoot animals for food, with no hunting licenses – big time fines and imprisonment for that. Also anything they consume or break within that Federal facility – they ain’t gonna like it when that bill comes due.

I’m hoping that the more reasonable tag-alongs recognize this farcical, misbegotten fiasco for what it is, come out, and go along quietly with the authorities. They could probably get some leniency. But the Bundy boys and other instigators? They should all get very long-term occupancy of about 100 square feet of Federal property, shared by a roommate named Mad Dog.
