More “Winning”. GM to Scale Back, Cut Jobs

June 29, 2018 By: El Jefe Category: Alternative Facts, Trade War Based On Lies

In a Commerce Department filing, General Motors said that if the new Trump tariffs take effect, the company will have to scale back operations and cut US jobs to survive. Whatever idiot is filling Trump’s orange head full of tariff bullshit needs to be run out of DC.  I’m not sure how much more “winning” we can stand.

There is a place for anger, and THIS is it.

  1. You are under the mistaken impression that he listens to anybody. The little voices in his head tell him what to do; and, since he has surrounded himself with nothing but toadies, he hears nothing buy praise.

Tillerson had him right in the first place, the Orange Moron is a %&%&^% idiot.

The same GM saved by President Barack Obama is being buried by dumbass Donnie and his maladministration’s moronic trade policies.

Trade wars. Add that to the st00pid failed war on drugs, thank you not, Nancy Reagan. Under the Einstein theory of insanity, “doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results,” this maladministration is “Reaganesque,” with st00pid on steroids. Trickle down … Give us a break Vlad and release the pee-pee tapes

In deference to Mama, I can only say the Dumb Drumpf maladministration is st00pid Reagan on steroids.

Some say the Democrats should “check and balance” the ‘Commander-in-Thief.’ OK. But how about the invertebrate ‘never Trump Republicons’ earn THEIR Congressional paychecks? Really. Even post Dubya when did it become the responsibility of Democrats to sweep out the GOP dung? TN idiot Bob Corker quit with some serious tax provisions to enrich himself. Meanwhile Jeff Flake, mouthy moron, quits a contested race only to place himself in a potential run in 2020.

To anyone considering voting GOP in 2018 or 2020, seek medical help, please. Refrain from buying guns, unless you have the tiny gohmerts to do away with yourselves and NOT take innocent victims with you. Really, you allegedly ‘pro-lifers’ and forced birthers, address your lonely attempts with suicide by cop with this bizarre and byzantine need for mass murder. Not to overstate the obvious, but what does your phony pro-life position achieve other than unnecessary deaths?

  8. I could understand how many in deep rural areas cannot find jobs. Very often the only industry available in such places is agriculture. A much more diversified industrial basis exists a long way away. Getting there is stretch when you don’t have a car or can’t afford the gas to drive to and from and there is no way you can relocate your entire family on $0. Now here’s the deal. I live in one of those highly diversified areas and even though there a hiring signs in the store windows, very few if anyone actually gets hired. First of all you have to apply via computer. Businesses collect lists of applicants and sort according to what they think they can get away paying people. They prefer minimum wage. but you must be thoroughly trained already and have a bucket full of years of experience. Thats why you see the same ads on lists at the local offices of the State Employment Office. Unemployment is not going down. The same people who have been taking gigs are still trying to get a real job And a lot of them have degrees. And now one of the biggies are going to cut back! This all makes no sense whatever but hey Justin Kennedy has a nice easy spot with Deutsche Bank!

  9. Jane & PKM says:

maggie, Justin Kennedy is yet another cog in the swamp of crime. Maybe lesser or maybe greater, but I’d vote lesser in comparison to Donnie, his crime cult and their violations of the Emoluments Clause and other crimes of corruption.

As Dotard45 attempts to take victory laps for the snacilbupeR tax cuts and glaringly missing tax reforms, his doting supporters need to check their empty wallets and face reality. Mining jobs will not come back, nor should they. Hey 4 proud generations of black lung disease and absent health benefits and disappeared pensions, ask better for yourselves. Like clean water and air along with sustainable green energy jobs. We embrace you, we are your brothers in a better future, so please untie yourselves from the destructive Dotard45 and his cult of destruction. We’re not asking that you leave your land to accept long haul truckers jobs, only that you accept any and all training necessary to live on your land with jobs that will support you and your families.

2018! Vote for yourselves, your children & grandchildren. Please, join me and mine in the future of our democracy.

  10. Jane & PKM says:

Sam in St Paul and Charles R Phillips, our fellow citizens were trick rolled by Donnie and his bestie Putin with the complicity of Koch brother and Shelly Adelson money unleashed by the anti democracy Citizens’ United scrotus decision. As frustrated as we are by those who voted against their own interests and those who did not participate in the democratic process, kicking them when they are deservedly down, as much as I would like to personally gohmert punch their sorry scrotums. While I am not in the mood to allow them to abuse my kindness as weakness, I am dead certain on shining the light of day on their treasonous behavior.

Crap. As much as it against my schadenfreude inclinations, I defer to the most beautiful FLOTUS ever, Michelle Obama and my most beautiful wife, Jane. “When they go low, we go high.” It sucks. I whimper, whine and resist. It’s a guy thing apparently when the women are so right. So I respectfully fully defer to the ladies, but reserve my right to a few well paced gohmert punches to the Dotard45 maladministration. FWIW I’d trade my ghmert punches for a well placed hatpin form Representative Wilson to Lyin’ Ryan or a roundhouse punch to *itch McConnell from a beautiful cadre of Democratic lady Senators.

  11. This is not a new development. The tariff may be the latest shoe to drop, but GM has been laying off since the first of the year in several plants throughout the north. They have cut shifts in plants making low profit [for them] vehicles. Give them time and those plants will go out of the country, or at least their production will. I work at GM plant making a profitable vehicle for GM and we have had dozens of transfers arriving from closing, or rather, resizing plants.

And now GM has announced a rebirth of an old line, the Blazer. Only now it will be yet another unibody SUV and not a truck. Oh, yeah…gasp, it will be built in Mexico. Nice of my UAW brothers sitting on the GM board to let us know about that one prior to its general announcement.

I argue with these snacilbupeR aholes daily about the damage Trump is doing to our country. While not all GM workers voted for the orange one, too large a number of my fellow pasty white coworkers did. And most of them seem to be buying the lies every blasted day.

  13. Any sort of training . . . well, let’s see. What is offered when it is offered is stuff that went out of business ages ago, nothing up to date or even forward thinking. Kind of like public high school all over again. And the Golden Gibbon could care less.

  14. Buttermilk Sky says:

“When they go low, we go high” sounds lovely, in a more perfect world where “they” don’t have the guns, the money, the media and the sheer bloody-mindedness to do anything to advance their agenda. I prefer to quote another (fictitious) Chicagoan: “They put one of yours in the hospital, you put one of theirs in the morgue.” Going high is getting us nowhere. Fuck civility (sorry, Mama).

    14
  15. I’m with Buttermilk Sky. The difference between us and the nearly unspeakable snacilbupeR is that we will tell the TRUTH and we will work for the good of EVERYONE. We will do so FAIRLY and HONESTLY.

That, my friends, is how I believe we have to fight. Our country depends on it.
