Maybe Stephen King Will Write A Book About It

December 02, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Ted Cruz has been lamenting (which is a bless-his-heart way of saying whining) about the fact that there’s just not enough conservatives on the Supreme Court.

TedCruz:CatThoughts_2He says that conservative presidents appoint conservatives to the court and then those appointees turn liberal.  Yeah, because they read the constitution.

Anyway, Cruz is a man with plan.

“Unlike many of the other candidates, I will be willing to spend the capital to ensure that every Supreme Court nominee that I put on the court is a principled judicial conservative,” Cruz said.

Principled judicial conservative are three words you rarely see in a row.  You know, kinda like sweet thoughtful Stalin. Or intelligent cuddly wasp. Those creatures don’t exist.

He doesn’t seem to have a plan to keep them conservative once they are appointed but I guessing it involves Rush Limbaugh and a chainsaw.

Be social and share!

  1. Polite Kool Marxist says:

“Principled judicial conservative” … that must be Daffy Cruz Jr. speak for wearing the same distortion lenses he does, when pulling the twisted filaments of the law from deep within his digestive tract.

  2. Sister Artemis says:

I can almost imagine an intelligent cuddly wasp. At least more than I can imagine an intelligent cuddly Cruz.

  3. I recommend Cruz give G.W. Bush a call for tips on how to look a man in the eye and get a sense of his soul. I’m sure it’s something Cruz could then implement in his search for the conservative Supreme Court Yeti.

“I found him to be very straight forward and trustworthy and we had a very good dialogue. I was able to get a sense of his soul.” George W. Bush said of Putin

  4. JAKvirginia says:

Yeah, Ted. And a Senate that approves your choice. Did you forget that part? Constitution. It’s a bitch.

  5. Ohhhh my.
Numero Uno… In no parallel universe does Raphael Cruz become president of the United States. Not even the ones where LSD is the cervesa of choice for the entire universe’s humanoid population!

Numero two-oh – what JJ said! justices appear liberal to fascists because justices read and study the Constitution. By contrast Raphael, noted fascist, reads and studies constipation.

Numero three-oh – In only one parallel universe does Raphael Cruz become (somehow) a United States Senator. Sadly this one. In all the others he’s an ambulance chasing attorney with obnoxious teevee commercials. Except the one in which he sell’s women’s shoes. Yeah he’s a pervert.

  6. Is that the same thing as a “compassionate conservative”?

We all know about “those people”.

  7. Linda Phipps says:

He doesn’t say what he would do with the moderates who are there already, maybe that’s where the chainsaw would come in.

  8. Linda Phipps says:

It’s common among bats to comment on crazy bats that they have “cruzes in the belfy”.

    8
  9. King already wrote that book – The Stand. The conservatives were holed up in Las Vegas.

  10. Marge Wood says:

Read today’s op/ed piece about Cruz in today’s NYT.

    10
  11. A “principled…conservative..”. Let’s see, does he mean people like Rick Perry,Tom DeLay, Dubya, Rove,Cheney, Scooter Libby, Bill Frist, Cunningham, Ney, Abramoff, Allbaugh, Brown, Scwarzenegger, Fletcher, Taft, Noe, Greg Abbott and a long, long list of indicted/unindicted criminals, republicans all?
Sorry, but good luck with the vetting process.
God help us, the Republi-Klan is the worst thing that’s ever happened to America.

    11
  12. Now, remember, y’all, liberals are the ONLY ones who have a “litmus test” for Supreme Court nominees. Nobody else.

@ Marge Wood. Was able to access that NYT oped piece. Thanks for posting. If summarizes what I’ve been thinking about Cruz. At Thanksgiving, was telling siblings & friends that my first awareness of Cruz came when I saw his ad in primary race for Senate which used a surrealistic picture of him. It was in Austin Chonicle, and I thought it was a joke. A very scary joke as subsequent events have shown it to be.

  14. AliceBeth says:

I remember when I thought conservatives were just cautious when it came to spending money. Now they just seem to be asshole bigots who want to control other people’s lives. If there are reasonable conservatives, they need to speak the hell up.

  15. l'angelomisterioso says:

Diane-I had a long-time friend( now unfortunately passed on), former Marine Vietnam combat vet who upon hearing the phrase ” compassionate conservatism” said he knew it was total BS because there’s no such thing as a compassionate conservative.

    15
  16. Mary Beth says:

white men are not stepping up and urging their followers not to resort to violence. What kind of group would not take action when horrific acts are done by members of their group? This needs action now and every time a white man does something despicable. Take responsibility for these murderous members of your group. Did I miss anything?

Today’s op-ed in the NYT about Cruz!

    17
  18. The phrase “compassionate conservative” is to distinguish them from all the rest of the conservatives, whose slogan seems to be “Screw you, Jack, I got mine.”

    18
  19. That NYT op-ed reminds me of a guy I knew in college. Before I met him or had any classes with him, I knew that a lot of people thought that he was a glassbowl. When I asked any of them why, and what made him a glassbowl, they ended up sputtering, “Well, he’s… he’s… he’s just a *glassbowl*!” After I met him, I discovered that they were right.

With Cruz, there certainly are things we could point to that he’s said and done, but basically, he’s just a glassbowl.

    19
  20. W. C. (Pete) Peterson says:

I always thought a “Compassionate Conservative” was a guy who would tell you that he loved you while he was raping you. And calling you by the wrong name as he did.

    20
  21. Marge Wood says:

I think there are good conservatives who think and act on what they believe. One of the ones I know says the hardest thing in the world is to believe something and act on it, and to not try to force other people to act on it.

    21
  22. Alice Beth said, “If there are reasonable conservatives, they need to speak the hell up.”

I saw a reasonable conservative once at a distance. I was so excited to make that rare sighting that I ran up to get a picture. But then I discovered, to my great disappointment, it was only a mirage.

    22
  23. You’re sitting at a table with the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and a compassionate conservative and there is $5000 on the table, who would get the $5000?

You would, the other three are fictional characters.

    23
  24. Yeah, I know what you mean. Neatly organized garbage. Another 3 word oxymoron. Frankly, Cruz cannot even sneeze without emitting a whining noise!

I do remember the look on Eisenhower’s face when he suddenly discovered that the guy he had appointed to SCOTUS was actually a liberal!

    24
  25. “Spend the capital”? I’m baffled. Is this man planning to have androids built to meet his criteria for Supreme Court judges?

    25
  26. Here’s what Forbes has to say about Ted Crud. Keep in mind that he’s the lawyer who argued the Heller case…
