L’Shanah Tova

September 29, 2011 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

We are getting the first heavy rain we’ve had in a year.

I get this message from the Tell Juanita section of the website —

Sitting here on my in-laws back porch, enjoying the cool, heavy rain, it occurs to me that Slick Rick asked the wrong brand of prayer-people to ask for God’s intervention.

Happy New Year to you and yours.

  1. And happy Rosh Hashana to everybody! (From the one-time Catholic girl who has to make latkes during December and eat then with my South American buddies. This is America–go figure)

  2. Fenway Fran says:

Love this. BTW, BarbinDC, I’m another recovering Catholic girl who makes a mean latke, as can my daughter who graduated from Brandeis. Here’s to diversity and worldwide unity! Happy New Year!

  3. Happy Rosh Hashana – oy please tell Prrry to stop – he’s pissing off g_d.

    Love and best wishes
    the Tribe

  4. Rain and Blessings on TX!!

  5. and locusts to Rick and friends!

OT but I feel better, cuts out my guilt trip. Setti Warren ended his campaign against Scott Brown (quite gracefully IMO). He’s been running for months and I believe he was a great guy. Still, I do think Elizabeth Warren has a better chance to win. And this reduces the costs of a Primary, save the money for the General!

So I felt freed up to donate to Elizabeth Warren. Nicely done Setti Warren!

  7. “Save a Challah for the Gas Jets.”

  8. Aren’t you God chosen people?
What does that mean for Rick Perry?

I too am a former Catholic girl. No latkes. I make Polish food

  9. Perry is a heathen….Yahweh don’t dig him and neither do Emmanuel. Not sure about the Holy Ghost. Probably it don’t either. Perhaps he should “prey” to someone who knows him.
