My name is Susan DuQuesnay Bankston. I live in Richmond, Texas, in the heart of Tom DeLay's old district. It's nuttier than squirrel poop here.
I am honored and privileged to know Miss Juanita Jean Herownself, hairdresser extraordinary and political maven. Since she does not have time to fiddle with this internet stuff, I type her website for her and you can read it if you want to. If you don't, she truly does not give a big bear's butt.
A lot of what I post here has to do with local politics, but you probably have the same folks in your local government.
This ain't a blog. Blogs are way too trendy for me. This is a professional political organization.
It’s not a lone wolf, it’s a white domestic terrorist who was able to legally acquire weapons of war partly due to the fact the NRA and GOP thwart every effort made to reduce the number of guns available to individuals like this one.

It’s not the first warning Nevada has had. Remember, we have Cliven Bundy with his inbred family & ‘friends.’ Then we have the snacilbupeR tea Bagger contingent in our state lege. The crazies abound at the lege. Just a few of the notorious: Sue Lowden, Sharron Angle and the ultimate hooter toting gun hugging dim bulb, Michele Fiore. Ironic. If Michele had the same careless regard for matches that she has for guns, we would jail her.

Quite honestly, screw the snacilbupeR. There were 450+ people at the concert who along with their families and friends who would say it is PAST time to talk about the issues of gun safety. Chances are the other 22,000 concert attendees have a notion something must be done, too.
As Nevada mourns, we also join hand & hearts with those affected by these all too frequent avoidable tragedies.

8I’ll admit I have “snapped” in the past. I ranted. I raved. Beat the hell out of a 2×4 with a hammer. But I never pulled a trigger. Oh, right. I don’t own a gun. Hmmm….
9Jim Wright (Stonekettle) addressed after the Charleston AME Church shooting why we will never get any sort of regulations or safety measures.
He also addressed a way to move the conversation forward: By enshrining in law the NRA’s own safety measures that they have always recommended, with penalties for failure to follow them.
His argument sums up as 1) it puts the NRA in the conversation with more than “muh guns” and b) makes them either support their own suggestions or repudiate them

I learned gun safety using the NRA rules (though I was never a member of the organisation), before they went off the rails taken over by Wayne LaPierre and his merry band of wingnuts.
10OK. I know there a people of all color etc. in this country who own guns. But LaPierre and his band of ultra-nasties are aiming strictly at white racist gun owners.
I would also bet that the old coot who pulled the trigger this time was a “collector”. Those birds are sometimes able to get away with, well, murder.
