It Just Might be a Movement

February 22, 2018 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, I’m not ready to predict that congress will be regained in November.

However, I do recognize that something is happening.

  • In deep-red Kentucky, Democrat Linda Belcher sailed to victory in the state’s 49th House District seat with 68% of the vote on Tuesday.
    .
  • Belcher’s win marked an 86-point swing from the 2016 general election, when President Donald Trump won the district with 72% of the vote.
    .
  • This is the 37th state legislative seat Democrats have flipped from red to blue since Trump’s election.

All you can say to that is holy damn cow.  That right there is really something.

So, it appears to me that the only thing we have to fight in November is the damn Russians stealing our elections because the Republicans are handing it to us.

I never dreamed I’d ever say Go Kentucky!

Be social and share!

  1. Holy damn cow.

  2. Those “kids,” Mitch? Actually they’re young adults. Some already of voting age, others soon to become voters. They’re coming for you.

    2
  3. Okay. Is there any way to start something like an office pool?

If so, lets get one going on when will we first hear from some alt-right poo-poo head that the Russians are really helping Dems……..

And another on who the poo-poo will be.

    3
  4. These races are being won by candidates that actually stand FOR something instead of the “not as bad as the other guy” mantra that’s been used by the party leadership the last few years.

  5. Great News!
But we still have to fight that deadly cancerous disease know as Cult Conservatism/Republicanism that keeps eating away at our Democracy and civil rights. Besides who needs Putin when you can once again count the votes yourself?

  6. That Other Jean says:

Maybe those voters who were convinced that Trump would bring back the jobs they used to have finally figured out that he was lying to them all along. They voted for him then; let us hope that they will vote against him now. Republicans need to be turned out of office from every position from County Council to President of the United States.

    6
  7. Dems can hardly count on many more incumbents’ committing suicide following a sex scandal like Belcher’s did.

This one really is an outlier

    7
  8. And if 50 people a day walk in and sing a bar of Alice’s Restaurant, they may think it’s a movement. And that’s what it is…

    8
  9. We’ve thrown these away before. We can’t afford to get complacent, especially when the other side has an established history of cheating.

    9
  10. Wyatt Earl says:

Harry Eager is right. Outlier. The loser was the lunatic wife of a former rep that killed himself after a sex scandal. We’ve still got Mitch, Rand, and, looniest of them all, Congressman Massie.

    10
  11. “86-point swing”

    Wow. I just . . . Wow. I’ve never heard of such a thing from one election to the next. Eighty-six? EI G H T Y – S I X ? That’s just incredible.

Even so, as others have said, we can’t let up for a moment. The stakes are too high, much too high.

    11
  12. Go Linda Belcher! Alllriiiiiight!

    (Any Bob’s Burgers fans here?)
