Have a look at these marchers from their Unite the Right protest last night in Charlottesville, Virginia:

Am I the only one who finds it mildly amusing that hundreds of White Nationalists are marching carrying Tiki torches made in Asia and sold by gigantic big box stores that destroy American middle class jobs?

  1. Hmmmmm…..they look military age to me. Maybe they ought to go sign up to fight in the wars their hero wants to start.

  2. Annabelle Lee says:

Those are citronella candles. It’s like they’re protesting against mosquitoes.

  3. Cheryl Johns says:

Maybe Venezuela needs to send in some troops to restore order.

  4. Reminiscent of the villagers in “Young Frankenstein”, except somebody got them a deal on tikki torches at Walmart. They all got the Abby Normal brains. Adolph would be proud.

  5. Lunargent says:

Earlier today, a car drove or was rammed into a crowd of counter-protesters.

So now there really is blood in the streets. And a lot of sick bastards are happy about that.

  6. Sorry, but that picture and those tiki doofusses bring to mind the greatest depiction of a White Nationalist rally ever put to celluloid, by the Coen Brothers of course:

“Can’t let that flag touch the ground!”

  7. Here’s a bunch of klansmen having trouble seeing a thing in those damn hoods…. (Mama, don’t listen.)

  8. They must have bought out Wall Mart and Home Despot out of all those tiki torches.

  9. Those are white American NaziKKK terrorists. They are terrorists and they killed one person when they rammed a car into the nonviolent anti-racist protesters, and seriously injured several others. I got temporarily banned from Twitter for use too many F-bombs in reference to them.

Those terrorist scum are entirely the result of President Terrorist Scum and his pal terrorist scum in OUR WHITE HOUSE! I am enraged.

  10. Sandridge says:

I’d sure like to see somebody pre-pack those tikitorches with TNT, williepete, shrapnel, and a fuze before those terrist scumsuckers light them up…

  11. As repugnant as these douchebags are, and what they’re willing to do, the fact that this is happening on the national stage , for all the world to see, might be what’s needed to make establishment repugnantcans denounce this vile crap. And pull their party away from the extremists that are leading them around by their balls. It’s possible.

  12. OK. I live in Virginia. And I am still going to retire to the Charlottesville area. Scum don’t scare me. Those torchbearers are Nazis, the ones my dad defended us against. And P.P., you are right on. I am waiting to hear from John McCain on this, especially after that wimpy-dimpy speech Trump gave. Lead him around by the balls? Hell, no. He doesn’t have any. And look how he keeps Bannon et al on the payroll in his Administration. Bad cess to them all!

  13. Sandridge says:

Were there any police around? Or were they all over by the terrist-confederate-nazi-kkk scumsuckers, protecting their sorry pasty asses?

Bet if some crazy librul terrist in a motor vehicle made a run at those kkk bastards, the cops would have all opened fire instantly.

I’m sick of these mofos, a white-hot hatred for all of them. From ‘workin’hard’ Comrade Mr. “We condemn in the strongest possible terms this egregious display of hatred, bigotry and violence on many sides”, on down to the lowliest sweaty little ball-less damn cracker amongst them.

  14. I would love to give all those “white” guys a DNA test for ethnicity. I’m sure they would be flabbergasted at the results. We ALL came out of Africa, you numbnuts. Even you, you tiki bearing doofuses.

  15. Exactly what you said Sandridge, word for word.

Orange Whore has 2 leading NaziKKK terrorists in the White House, Bannon and Miller, so his tweet against the ones in Virginia are just empty, hollow words. I need to find a place and way to take some action against these terrorists in some way or other. Tomorrow morning I’m going to my nearby Unitarian Universalist fellowship because they’re always involved on the Resistance side, more “Christian” than those fakes like Jeffress, Graham and Falwell.

BTW, authentic Christian clergy have been active helping the Resistance in Charlottesville since yesterday. They’ve showed up, put their alb- and collar- and stole-clad bodies on the line. That’s what a Jesus follower does.

  16. TexasTrailerParkTrash you beat me to it. As a kid I was certain my racist Sicilian uncle had a ton of Africa-originating genes- heck you could see it in his face. Well I could, him not so much. Those khaki clad yahoos would be shocked to find out where their ancestors really came from. If only…

  17. I’m so grateful that you have this space JJ, and allow us to vent. Else I might be running screaming down the street, I’m so angry and somewhat frightened at how those terrorists are trying to f**k with OUR COUNTRY!!!

Red, brown, black, yellow, white. Native, atheist, goddess, pagan, Wiccan, Hindu, Sikh, spiritual, voodoo, Muslim, Rastafarian, Pastafarian, Druid, undecided, Norse, Christian, etc. LBTG and any other variation of sexuality that does no harm, even heterosexuality.

    Any Body. Except haters.

  18. Austinhatlady says:

@ Debbo. Agree with your observation about “authentic Christian clergy.” Bless them and the congregants who were there.
Must say I fear for my god-daughters, two of whom are bi-racial & all three of whom have Native American ancestry.

  19. Couple of hours ago Cory Gardner, republican senator from Colorado tweeted:” Mr. President- we must call evil by its name. These were white supremacists and this was domestic terrorism”. By comparison, he’s small potatoes. But he is a national politician who has votes to lose, but still did the right thing. It’s a start.

  20. Juanita Jean Herownself says:

I’m grateful I have a place to explode, too, Debbo. And I know El Jefe is, too.

  21. Tilphousia says:

Traitor trump is a gutless, balless loser. LOSER!! Can’t close a deal, can’t do anything except stuff his bloated face while sitting on his immense orange lard ass. This is 100% his doing. He’s the one ‘yelling fire in a crowded theatre’. Then he sits back and praises himself for his ‘accomplishment’. Traitor trump is the poorest excuse of a human to ever occupy the Oval Office. He is a fraud, charlatan, and evil incarnate. He destroys all he touches. He must be removed.

  22. Jeff Sessions country –

  23. @Tilphousia

Ya gotta quit holding back! Your head’ll explode 🙂

  24. AlanInAustin ... says:

Looks more like a bunch of frat boys protesting late delivery of their mai-tais, but I do have to say it’s sad to see that the nation spawned with a “Boston Tea Party” now protests with a “Citronella Rebellion”. Mercy! The next thing you know they want to come to afternoon tea without wearing jackets.

  25. Lunargent says:

    Debbo –
You forgot that vile creature, Gorka.

This coming week, we really need to do all we can to pressure Trump to rid himself of his damned nationalists/Nazis: Bannon, Miller, and Gorka.

It would be great if we could could dump Sessions, too, who’s a straight up classic Southern racist bigot. But such is the state of our Union that he gets a pass this time, because the white nationalists are a much bigger threat. Besides, the Mueller investigation HAS to continue.

  26. Sandridge says:

    Like I wrote @13:

“There was nothing haphazard about the violence that erupted today in this bucolic town in Virginia’s heartland. At about 10 a.m. today, at one of countless such confrontations, an angry mob of white supremacists formed a battle line across from a group of counter-protesters, many of them older and gray-haired, who had gathered near a church parking lot. On command from their leader, the young men charged and pummeled their ideological foes with abandon. One woman was hurled to the pavement, and the blood from her bruised head was instantly visible.

Standing nearby, an assortment of Virginia State Police troopers and Charlottesville police wearing protective gear watched silently from behind an array of metal barricades — and did nothing. It was a scene that played out over and over in Charlottesville as law enforcement confronted the largest public gathering of white supremacists in decades. We walked the streets beginning in the early morning hours and repeatedly witnessed instances in which authorities took a largely laissez faire approach, allowing white supremacists and counter-protesters to physically battle. —

  27. Since I am still determined to retire in the Charlottesville area, I have been doing some more thinking. The statue of Lee really had nothing to do with the Nazis appearing on campus and then in the streets. They don’t need an excuse or a reason but I can bet that they got a real buzz out of taking their nastiness right to the one thing Tom Jefferson really, really held next to his heart – the university he founded. They must have thought it fun to stomp around on ground that originated with the author of the Statute of Religious Liberty and the Declaration of Independence. Of course, this has not penetrated the Barking Yam’s brain. He absolutely cannot make connections. It looks like General Kelly can. Bannon has been found in Kelly’s perspective to be running his own Nazi agenda from the White House and that just isn’t going to work. Hopefully when Kelly boots him, the rest of his ilk at the WH goes with him. That would leave the Barking Yam with no further excuses. The emperor will at last have not a stitch to wear!

  28. Yesterday, when you posted, I started to comment that there is nothing amusing about Nazi marches in America. I think today you will agree with me.

  29. I have watched the videos and seen the pictures from this insanity. As a feminist and previous qualitative researcher, I noticed that all I saw on the KKK side were men. Why do you suppose that is?

I am really asking this as a serious question. Are white supremacist women not allowed to march with the men? Did they anticipate violence and not let the wimmenfolk come?

I would be interested in the thoughts of the people on this forum.

  30. @Sandy

I haven’t your qualitative background, but blurted out the same observation, without asking “Why?” My answer based on the smallish universe of Texas women I know well is that they know better.
