Holy Crap: I Just Don’t Know What the Hell To Say Edition

July 27, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Huckabee

Right-wingers online compare everything to Hitler.  There’s even a law for it, called Godwin’s Law, which postulates …

Godwin’s Law (or Godwin’s Rule of Nazi Analogies) is an Internet adage asserting that “As an online discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches 1″— that is, if an online discussion (regardless of topic or scope) goes on long enough, sooner or later someone will compare someone or something to Hitler or Nazism.

Mike Huckabee opted for sooner.

Holy.  Damn.  Crap.

I think Huckabee is running for Prime Minster of Israel. I hope he doesn’t wn because he makes Netanyahu look like a hippie peacenik.

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Somebody slap me for even saying this, but…

First they were gased, then they were burned. Huck, stay the hell away from historical references you haven’t read up on, m’kay. Stupid ass.

    (Sorry Momma.)

  2. coozledad says:

When a Republican is Godwining, you can hear the projection. The fists are balled up and held to the chest, the spittle flies.
The descriptions of mass murder are lovingly, painstakingly described.

I’ve heard these folk’s parlor conversations. Their belief that we’re too stupid to mine their statements for their “dark secret loves” is among the many things that make them utterly ridiculous.

Huck’s boy didn’t learn to hang dogs for fun in a vacuum.

    2
  3. So those of us that immediately equate the Tea Party and its assimilation of the former Republican Party to the rise of Nazism and its assimilation of the German nation from 1933 to 1945, we are Godwining? So be it. I remain unrepentant.

  4. coozledad says:

Even Godwin has said the term is overly and incorrectly used. The Tea Party and racist militias bear a lot more than a passing resemblance to the freikorps nuts who ultimately bludgeoned their way into interwar German politics. They’re reading from the same damn playbook.

    4
  5. Whenever I hear things like this, I want to ask the speaker “when did Israel became a state of the U.S.”? I don’t care about Israel anymore than I do about any other country. I would be very happy if we stopped sending Israel money that could be better spent here. If Huckabee or any other politician wants to kiss Israel’s ass they can move there. They’ll be “safe”, Israel has nuclear weapons (unlike their neighbors) and they’re always in a conflict so it’ll be right up the alley of conservatives’ need to be at war at all times.

  6. Hollyanna says:

If only Huckabee would take his bitter, bigoted self off to anywhere but here. I am so tired of his ignorant and racist ravings. Get over it, Mike, Obama is still in the White House; he was elected twice. That was the will of the people. Now shut your pie-hole and shut down your ridiculous campaign for president. Our nation deserves so much better.

  7. American politics is full of ministers for Israel, many in Congress, though none of them could be described as “prime” in the best sense of the word.

What they share (with Netanyahu) is that they are all neocons and they all want to attack Iran. They have long subordinated the best interests of this country to the superstitious vendettas of neocon Israeli leaders.

The neocons were wrong about Iraq. They cost us people and billions and just made Iran stronger, not to mention the creation of ISIL. And they never learn.

Huckabee didn’t just break Godwin’s rule. He violated the rule of decency.

  8. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Oy Vey! As a lost (lapsed) member of the Tribe, I would like to remind Huckster, purported minister, of the similarities of Christianity and Judaism. Your scripture (as translated) states “do unto others as …” The Jewish Torah states (as translated), “do the best unto yourself, with the least amount of prejudice to others.” There’s a nuanced similarity there, Huck, with that I agree with you. However, there is no mention in either of our Books about grifting for Jesus or any other reason.

What any and all theocratic fail to appreciate is that the US Constitution provides equality to all regardless of religious persuasion or lack thereof. Huck, you are free here to practice as you wish, until the second you choose to deny others equal protection under the law.

Practice and Preach as you will, Huck. But a word of caution: do NOT step over that line of Separation of Church and State. That is where the IRS awaits you. Public sentiment is growing for taking away tax exempt status from those who violate the principles of our US Constitution.

    8
  9. they keep this up and they will destroy the republican party..soon it will be just tea baggers and Democrats.

    9
  10. I pay as little attention as possible to any of this [glassbowl’s] ravings.

    10
  11. Godwin’s Law? That is so brilliant. Makes me wish I had gotten to know Godwin a little better when we had offices in the same hall. I knew he was out of my league then, but holy cannoli….

  12. Marion (formerly known as MM) says:

We send money to Israel that they use to destroy Gaza and its poor imprisoned population. Bad use of our money. Very bad.

    12
  13. Marge Wood says:

WHAT! Huckabee….well, isn’t Huckabee a word for something kinda like Gohmert is?

    13
  14. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Marge Wood, Huckabee doesn’t rate a word all his own, but he shares ‘honorable’ mentions with Duggaring and Santorum, with “Family Values” on par with Palin style hypocrisy and grifting.

Gohmert like? Nah. The shyster weasel knows his grift, so fails the Gohmert test of st00pid.

    14
  15. First of all the only reason they support Israel is so their version of the second coming is fulfilled – God/Jesus will destroy Israel and Mideast at that time.

Secondly check out some of Huckabee’s campaign speeches in 2008. He explained in GREAT DETAIL how as President he would meet with Iran, get other nations to impose sanctions that would force them to a bargain and while initially the agreement might not be completely to our liking it would be a vast improvement over current status and a future war. He now won’t comment when asked why he changed his tune (ah ODS – Obama Derangement Syndrome).

Thirdly the neocoms want war. Halliburton is afraid no future wars in the Mideast will seriously affect their bottom line.

Lastly I understand why we need to support Israel but I am not ignoring the fact they could care less if their decisions make more Mideast countries angry with the US. I don’t feel the current Israeli leadership cares a bit and would like to provoke us or Iran into declaring war. Granted I cannot understand the climate of hate and fear they live constantly but I am beginning not to care. The good thing is many Israeli leaders have spoken out against the Huckster but the neocoms have been putting on TV ads that are grotesque and out and out lies.

  16. JAKvirginia says:

Oh, and one more thing Huckleberry, “this president” isn’t running for office. He’s won twice already. He’s done. Or hadn’t you heard? So if you don’t like what he’s come up with what would you do as president that would be better? Put up or shut up.

    16
  17. Hucky is just another one of those GOP specimens who have declared as a primary candidate and knows they don’t stand a snowball’s chance, but oh the addiction to campaigning! And being the center of attention! Getting more and more off the rails in some kind of one upmanship competition with El Donaldo. However I would bet my loose change that Hucky won’t go as far as El Donaldo will. He’s already insulted just about everything and everyone. All he has left is motherhood, apple pie and the flag and with his motor mouth, those three topics find themselves at hazard.

    17
  18. maryelle says:

Marlene zeroed in on the core of Huckster’s hypocrisy: he advocated negotiating a deal with Iran in 2008. Now, for obvious reasons, he feels the need to pretend he never said that and anyway OBAMA! How the President has managed to keep his sanity amidst the hypocrites and wackos I’ll never know, but I sure do admire him for it.

    18
  19. e platypus onion says:

Obama could be completely insane and still appear normal next to the doofii.

    19
  20. Wa Skeptic says:

“Godwin’s Law”?? I’d like to remind the people that use that comment to sneeringly shut down discussions about Republicans that those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it.

I agree that the Facism. I am fearful of the path our country is taking and we should speak up as much as possible.

    20
  21. eyesoars says:

Isn’t there a second part/corollary to the law: that whoever first mentions Nazis has de-facto lost the argument?

Huck lost that years ago, right after any sanity he ever had.

    22
  22. Marge Wood says:

Where do they get these ideas. Really.

    23
  23. Yes, one should never forget to end any serious political discussion with, “And also Natzis.” Jim Wright at Stonekettle Station has pretty well sewn that up. Whenever I feel I may be losing a discussion with my dear husband, on any topic at any time, I always feel it’s fair to end my position statement with “And also Natzis.” And Huck? He’s just another random idiot.
