Holy Crap: First Baptist Edition

November 23, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The First Baptist Church of Dallas and its pastor Robert Jeffress know all about satan.  But mostly they know that satan inspired Islam.

No crap, y’all.

If you think for one minute that these preachers aren’t trying to start a holy war, consider this —

In his sermon, Jeffress said, “I believe it is time for us to lay aside political correctness and identify the belief system that is responsible for these horrific acts, and that is the evil, evil religion of radical Islam.”

And he was decisive in his call for a military response to such terrorism: “It is time to start bombing the you-know-what out of ISIS,” he said. “That is a biblical response.”

Jeffress believes that individual Christians should forgive but that government shouldn’t.  Christians should turn the other cheek but government shouldn’t.  Yeah, because now we’re not a Christian government founded on Christianity like we were last month.

And in totally unrelated news in nearby Irving, Texas:

About a dozen protesters — most carrying long guns, some masked and one with his mother — lined up outside an Irving mosque on Saturday. They had come from as far away as Hunt County to the green-domed complex. To “Stop the Islamization of America,” as the mother’s hand-drawn sign urged.

  1. That is not a church service, that is a political speech. Can we tax them now????

    1
  2. For a second there I thought the sign with the arrow pointing to Ted Cruz’s name said “I’m with stupid.”

    2
  3. TTPT – I did, too!

I think I have located Satan.

  4. Polite Kool Marxist says:

In the battle of Holy Crap, I have two words for these snacilbupeR rhetoric freaks: Andres Zamora.

Actually, edit that. Two more words: Dylann Roof.

    Dick Cheney
    Eric Rudolph
    Timothy McVeigh

That merely begins the two word list of snacilbupeR terrorists.

Pastor Wet Diaper, address the home grown ammosexuals among your spawn, before inventing imaginary threats.

  5. “It is time to start bombing the you-know-what out of ISIS,” he said. “That is a biblical response.”

It is time to start taxing religious institutions to pay for their “biblical” responses and increase these people’s personal taxes as well as send them to the war front that these cowards love so much.

  6. There is a mosque not too far from my home. I’ve been waiting for the mentally challenged to show up. I’m gonna make one of those “I’m with stupid!” signs and walk amongst them. Wonder how long Jeffress served in the military? He is a piece of work!

  7. My caption for that last one, “North Texas Little Weenie Brigade just gotta prance”.

  8. Oh my! Every week I pass by this abomination of an institute and its deranged “Pastor” to a site less than a city block away and I hear a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT MESSAGE! I did, however, somewhat, take heart from many of the posters comments that followed the DMN page.

  9. Susan on the Left Coast says:

They’ve redefined the King of Peace. Jihadi Jesus has been at the right wing boot camp for quite some time being trained as their on-demand heat seeking weapon of mass destruction.

  10. TruelyTexan says:

They should move away from the road. I would “hate” for someone trying to read their signs to “accidentally” run off the road and hit them. Maybe someone on a combine.

  11. I see a clear violation of PC Sec. 42.03. OBSTRUCTING HIGHWAY OR OTHER PASSAGEWAY. Book em Danno.

    11
  12. More crap than holy.

But with one germ of truth when referring to “the evil, evil religion of radical Islam.” What is omitted are any references to “the evil, evil religion of radical Christianity” or “the evil, evil religion of radical Judaism.” Heck, you could even include radical Buddhism or radical Wicca.

The problem is with the “radical,” not with the religion. I don’t want Sharia law, but I also don’t want a version of Christianity that thinks women need to be controlled and have personal decisions made for them. And, unlike Sharia law, the latter is actually happening in the United States.

  13. This could be posted in any number of articles in the last few days. Brussels’ response to the heightened security alert and lockdowns.
    http://www.cnn.com/2015/11/23/europe/paris-attacks-brussels-lockdown-cats/index.html
I just wish some of this trend would occur here instead of the despicable spewing that is the GOP and others.

  14. Elizabeth Moon says:

No, it’s not a Biblical response, Mr. Jeffress.

Jesus never said that or anything like it.

    14
  15. “Who would Jesus bomb? Who would Jesus shoot?” They think they have the answers, based on nothing except what they pull out of their rear ends.

It’s nice to believe that human history progresses toward a better and happier life for all, but these throwbacks make me realize that “dark ages” have happened repeatedly, and more of this ignorance and bigotry on all sides could bring on another one.

    15
  16. In case the “pastor”(right wing activist) hasn’t noticed, America has already been bombing ISIS for quite sometime, and now we’re joined by France and Russia.
Just as the Rethug candidates keep calling for bombing the heck out of them, which we already are, this guy also hasn’t noticed that most people already blame radical Islam. He’s a little bit late to the blaming/bombing party.

    16
  17. JAKvirginia says:

Because I’ve been curious for years, I am now doing a personal inquiry to learn more about Islam. It might interest (or not) the “pastor” to know that Islam recognizes Abraham as it’s “father” like the Jews and Christians do. It also recognizes Jesus as a prophet. He should be careful how he throws that satan crap around.

    17
  18. Marge Wood says:

Oh yes, I remember that Scripture. “Thou shalt bomb the heck out of ISIS” is the last verse in the second chapter of Jude.

    18
  19. JanE, I looked at Brussels’ lock down cats earlier today and they are very funny. Folks, check out #lockdowncats on Twitter for a very good laugh.

    19
  20. Well Jefferees since a large part of the isLame dogma is found in the buyBull, we now know the source of the buyBull too…SATAN!!!
But actually since the only intelligent person in the buyBull, I don’t think Satan would lower himself that far. Since the buyBull & the karan both look to be inspired by a spoilt 5yr-old, it is probably gawd’s work.

    20
  21. JAKvirginia says:

And an A++ for those butch Muricans on the far right with their faces masked. Covered faces… just like Muslim fanatics… just… like… TERRORISTS!

    21
  22. ‘Scuse me but someone in that bunch needed to have his mamma with him to go outside with the other boys?

    22
  23. Aggieland Liz says:

JAK, they are the Christians’ BROTHERS! Ishmael and Hagar got run off by poor old jealous Sarai, and just look at the result! I wonder what might have been if she had been kind to poor Hagar, instead of abusing her? And Islam is a peaceful and generous religion when properly practiced-much like Christianity should be! But we can’t get it right,so why should we be surprised that they can’t get it right? After all, it’s not like Christians have never gone around the world slaughtering people under the guise of “conversion”!! Of course, you have to be able to read as well as be able to contemplate something beyond your own navel – oops, I mean magnificence, to learn anything about Islam. I’m beginning to think most Americans are capable of neither!
