Holder: “Barr is Wrong”

March 25, 2019 By: El Jefe Category: Mueller

Eric Holder, appearing on MSNBC with Ari Melber, has just said that Bill Barr “is wrong” by stepping in and being judge and jury on possible charges against Trump.  He said that Barr’s conduct is highly unusual, and that these kinds of actions involving the President should be deferred to Congress, not taken over by the Attorney General, a political appointment.

Here we go.

  2. OK, so I was wrong about Barr. He evidently WAS OK with coming out of retirement, with a great reputation, and sell out his soul for tRump. I just don’t get it – tRump is a boorish braggart, with an obviously low IQ – and yet some seemingly bright people (not talking about you Giuliani, Cohn, Woods, etc.) get sucked into a cesspool where it is obvious what the final outcome will be.

Headline: Hate crimes increased 226% in places Trump held a campaign rally in 2016, study claims. – Its time for a primer.

For those who were old enough to have seen it and for those who weren’t, here is a movie about cover-ups, collusion, conspiracy, violence, propaganda, white washes, repression etc. While a pressured prosecutor attempts to get to the bottom of the corruption.

This was just posted last year and is a complete and quite prescient film.

Oy! This coming from Holder, the Attorney General who refused to prosecute the malefactors from Wall Street. Reagan / Bush 41 filed more than 30,000 referrals for criminal prosecution, prosecuted 1200 cases and imprisoned 900+ criminals for the S&L frauds.

The Subprime/Derivatives scandal is 70 times bigger. How many such referrals for criminal prosecution from the Obama regulators? Zero. Prosecutions? About a dozen, all small fish.

THIS GUY IS THE CROOKEDEST A.G. IN HISTORY! He has no standing to be judging even someone as crooked as Trump. He *is* the problem.

What he did was threaten prosecution, then settle for dimes-on-the-dollar fines from the criminals’ loot…without even an admission of guilt (makes it harder to prosecute the civil cases)… These criminals remain in power.

…and once you legitimize criminality, you can’t be surprised Trump wins the next election. (and the R’s win more than 1,000 down-ticket races)

  6. FYI: PBS Newshour just began [7pm cdt] a ‘Frontline’ type analysis of the Mueller SCI/R.
It is well worth watching. It will likely be repeated, as PBS usually does.
    I’m glued to it.

Nixon’s AG, John Mitchell, is my pick for worst AG.
    Barr may end up tied.

  8. Heheh, the PBS Mueller Report program is apparently wrapping up.
Judy Woodruff is interviewing Rudy Guiliani. There is a White House background image behind Rudy. Instead of being colored ‘white’, it has a definite ‘pink’ tone [on my TV]. As in: ‘Pinko-Commie’ tools of Putin…

  9. Jane & PKM says:

This could be a second time for Bill Barr as worst AG ever. His ‘work’ for GHW Bush cleaning up Reagan’s Iran-Contra mess freed a few treasonous rats.

  10. The delicious IOU1 Barr.
    Chocolate coated on the outside.
    Not saying what’s inside.

  11. All the talking heads are speculating, “Why did Mueller do what he did? Amass the facts and stop — drawing no conclusions?”

There is very clear precedent – i.e. Watergate.
What did the counsel do then? Why, he amassed the facts, drew no conclusions and handed everything over to Congress.
This time, however, Mueller was forced to hand it all to Barr who, if he was an honest actor, would have done what they did in 1974.

Of course, that was then. This is now:
Barr applied for the job by claiming that a president is incapable of obstructing justice simply by virtue of being the president.
Gee, I wonder what his conclusion would have been if either of the Clinton’s [or any Democrat, ftm] were in office and under investigation right now.

    Guess.

  12. slipstream says:

Trump fired the director of the FBI to make the Russia investigation go away.

Then Trump went on TV and told us that he fired the director of the FBI to make the Russia investigation go away.

And Barr can’t find obstruction of justice?

    12
  13. And Lindsey Graham says he has no desire to see the actual Mueller report, he’s happy with Barr’s letter. Scared much, eh, Lindsey? McConnell is blocking the release of Mueller’s report. Face it, these guys are complicit with Russia’s interference/NRA money, the whole deal. Deplorable. Criminal maybe?

Oh, Walt Shaub (ethics lawyer for the Obama admin) has a great thread on twitter called “In Plain Sight”. https://twitter.com/waltshaub/status/1110145389498380290

  14. None of this is over yet. These sort of things have a life of their own, almost as if they were immortal. More “juice” will be spilled. Everyone at least know where your seat belts are. You’re gonna need them!

  15. MaryAnne says:

Barr was brought in by Republicans to do the same thing he did with the Iranian hostages, and Iran/ Contra! He covered up the manure. Remember how long it took Bess to get Harry to use that word.:)

I think Barr cut the investigation short, too. He is a Republican cover up artist .

  16. As I tried mightily to explain to some young folks, Mueller found out a lot but by law what he had just didn’t have that stretch of an inch longer to really nab the unindicted coconspirator. In other words oh so close but no cigar. He got away based on a technicality. And no, this does not exonerate the Golden Gibbon. I’ve seen things like this before and what hardly anyone realizes is that the survivors like the GG in the White House will have to wear this hair shirt of publicity to the end of their days. There is a very ancient word that covers what he is experiencing now and forever: “enfame”. Its sort of like defame but not quite.
