Hey, Molly, It’s Not the Muslims Who Are Threatening State Representatives! You’re Thinking of the Open Carry Thugs.

I want y’all to meet Republican State Representative Molly White.

Screen Shot 2015-01-29 at 12.30.10 PMMolly is sweet little Christian thing who just got herself elected to the Texas House by the people of Bell County.  Molly defeated a moderate Republican incumbent in the GOP primary.

Yesterday was Texas Muslim Capitol Day.  The event is organized by the Texas chapters of the Council on American-Islam Relations.  It is meant as a day where members of the Muslim community can lobby lawmakers.

Molly ran home.  Seriously.  She vacated the capitol.  It was fine with her for the Open Carry hoodlums to threaten a member of the legislature, requiring him and his family to have a security detail, but Muslims …. well, that’s just going too far.

She tweeted — (Click the little one to get the big one.)

Now, how Molly plans on having her secretary enforce that is unclear.  I’m hoping maybe she can broker a Middle East agreement.

I’m wondering if I visit her office, do I have to renounce Timothy McVey and the KKK?

And I dunno know about you, but I think she should have a Texas or American flag on her desk.

Be social and share!

  1. RE: “Molly defeated a moderate Republican incumbent in the GOP primary.”

According to publicly available election records that was 4995 to 4302. 693 votes. GOOOOOOOOOOOOD LORD…. 693 f’ing votes separate totally crazy from moderately crazy in Bell County. Kiddin’ me?

    /Rant over
    Micr out….

  2. Marge Wood says:

That is bizarre. You think she actually knows any Muslims? She should be ashamed. Maybe we should all wear big head scarves and go sign in as Christians who have Muslim friends. Or Jews. Or Hindus. Or pagans, who have Muslim friends. Hey, I like that idea. I think I have a big headscarf….

  3. If Molly ever contacts me, I’ll be sure to ask her to renounce Republican infidelities, torture policies, denial of healthcare to children, etc.

    4
  4. Molly’s cowardice in the face of the rights of diverse citizens to express themselves shows she is not equipped to represent anyone but herself.

  5. Corinne Sabo says:

    God’s gonna get her!

  6. Why don’t we have some requirement for elective office that says you have to be able to count to twelve without taking your shoes off?

Honey, if you had a clue, you’d know that “representatives from the Muslim community” renounce terrorism all the time, but people like you and f’ing Fox News stick your fingers in your ears and hum real loud every time they do.

  7. Elizabeth Moon says:

This is what I emailed Malicious Molly:

Your comments to your staff concerning possible Muslim visitors to your office are disgusting and against the fundamental values of this nation and this state. Apparently you think you are a Christian and represent both Christian and Texas values.

No. I am a Texan and a Christian, and older than you, and thus entitled to tell it like it is. What you are is rude, arrogant, snobbish, and ignorant. What you are is a hater. Haters aren’t Christian. Go back and read those parts of the Gospels you apparently missed: you are commanded by Christ to love your neighbor–including if that neighbor is your enemy. You are commanded to do good to those who hurt you. You are commanded to be humble, helpful, gentle–not proud and nasty. And proud and nasty is just what you have been. You want to boss people who aren’t the same religion as you, and you want to look down on them as well.

You should get down on your knees and pray for forgiveness, and then for guidance and education–to know that many Muslims are U.S. citizens. To know that our Constitution protects the freedom of *everyone* to hold whatever religious views he or she wants, and that it is 100% wrong–Constitutionally wrong–to discriminate against someone for being a different flavor of Christian, or Jewish, or Buddhist, or Daoist, or Hindu…or Muslim. To know that you are not being a Christian when you confuse “Christian” with “American” or “Texan” and use that to be a religious bigot.

YOU are the one who needs to look at the Pledge of Allegiance, right where it says “freedom and justice _for all_” and consider whether you live up to that in any way. No evidence so far. Beyond that you need to study deeper in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution–not cherry-picking what you want to hear, but learning what they really say, and the history behind every one of those phrases.

If you can’t treat every citizen with respect and fairness, you should resign your position and go sit in your room having a good long chat with God until you can. That’s what my grandmother would have said, and that’s what I say. Get off your high horse and walk the road barefoot awhile.

  8. May I say, she is undeserving of the name, “Molly.”

  9. Rickie Newell says:

Elizabeth Warren is my hero. I think I’m going to memorize her words; I’m sure I’ll need them sometime again.

    10
  10. Uncle Dave says:

The Dallas Morning News, always conservative, editorially jumped all over White for the shame she has put upon Texas.

    11
  11. Well said, Elizabeth Moon. I’m neither Texan (I lived there for 16 month in the 70s) nor Christian, but I am familiar with our country’s laws and Molly White’s alleged religion.

    12
  12. Rickie Newell says:

You do know I meant to refer to Elizabeth Moon, don’t you? I must refrain from responding before my second cup of coffee.

    13
  13. I’d love to know the collective IQ of the knuckleheads who elected this woman. BTW, quite the sh!tstorm on her Facebook page.

    14
  14. I devoted about an hour to reading her FB page for the first time today. I’d thought, when my Bell Co. neighbors sent her to Austin, that she would be the same kind of ineffectual republican rep that Sheffield was. Crap. Never thought I’d miss him.

Y’all, Molly is a true believer. Her FB page is littered with RightWing news articles about Sharia law in the US and the alleged no-go zones that the moderates over at FOX have apologized for buying onto.

She doubled-down on her position Friday when KCEN saw her at a school event. She said her remarks were taken out of context, but she wouldn’t clarify or put them into context. Instead she hurried off when the reporter tried to ask questions.
