Gettin’ Koched Up

January 27, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

America: a wholly owned subsidiary of Koch Industries.

Robber barons David and Charles Koch want to buy America.  They are offering a billion dollar down payment.  For them, a billion dollars is pocket change.

MoneyInPoliticsFlexing its financial might, the political machine backed by billionaires Charles and David Koch on Monday told its allies that spending across its conservative network would approach $1 billion ahead of 2016’s elections.

The stunning sum from Freedom Partners would dwarf expected spending from official GOP committees and many of the hopefuls expected to seek the party’s presidential nomination in 2016. The $889 million budget is almost twice what 2012 GOP nominee Mitt Romney spent from his campaign accounts.

Kinda makes you wonder who they are afraid of, right?

I’d also like to add that if Sarah Palin, Ted Cruz, or any other clown car occupant is the nominee, no amount of money in the world will make them any damn smarter.

Thanks to Claudia for the heads up.

  1. All that money will be used to bombard voters with TV ads which fabricate, disseminate and flat out lie about their agenda and that of the Democratic opponents. There are too many voters who cannot or will not make the mental effort to critically analyze nor the physical effort to get to the polls and vote.
This next election is where Citizens United could destroy our country, by giving the entire Congress and the White House to the Party of fear, ignorance and hate.

  2. I hate rants, although I rant from time to time.
I hate long quotes, but this time I’m making an exception to my own rule.
And I LOVE George Carlin, so hold on while he talks about the Kochs from years ago…

“You know what they want? Obedient workers people who are just smart enough to run the machines and do the paperwork but just dumb enough to passively accept all these increasingly $hittier jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the vanishing pension that disappears the minute you go to collect it. And, now, they’re coming for your Social Security. They want your ^&^& retirement money. They want it back, so they can give it to their criminal friends on Wall Street. And you know something? They’ll get it. They’ll get it all, sooner or later, because they own this ^&^& place. It’s a big club, and you ain’t in it. You and I are not in the big club.”

@Micr Thanks for that. Still miss him.

    George Carlin: An American Prophet.

  4. Lorraine in Spring: Amen, amen.

  5. Yes, Simba, but let me explain.

First Republicans provide tax breaks and loopholes to their supporters. Then the supporters use that money to elect more Republicans. We are all connected in the great Circle of Life.

  6. Dianne in PA says:

We beat Voter ID in PA because the case went to one of the only two Dem judges on the relevant court of appeals. I guess that irritated the Koch Brothers. We elect high court judges this year, and the Kochs have pledged $25 million to the R candidates. We have to get the word out.

  7. Charlie Ammen says:

@ Micr: You beat me to it. Thanks. George hit the nail on the head. If the Kochs succeed, the will dissolve the Federal Goverment and institute the 21st Century form of feudalism. People will be toiling in poverty, hunger, sickness and ignorance. No abortions or birth control because they won’t live as long so they have to keep procreating to keep a new crop of “obedient workers’ coming up every generation.

  8. Charlie Ammen says:

One more thing. If the Kochs do succeed in taking over, that’s when the big gun grab will begin. All weapons will be confiscated, and the 2nd Amendment crazies will have voted in the people that made it possible.

  9. They spent half a million on Mitt last time and that didn’t work, so they’re doubling it this time.

There are plenty of smaller countries they could buy more cheaply. I wish they’d leave ours alone.

And thanks so much to the Publican-dominated SCOTUS that helped make this possible, or at least blatantly possible.

    9
  10. @Charlie Ammen
The 2A crazies have elected already the gun grabbers. In my read of history it is always the fanatical conservatives who grab the weapons. They just don’t realize what weapons of opportunity are. Back me into a corner, take away my hope, and a rolled up newspaper becomes a deadly weapon.

Since when (remember Dubya?) have overlords wanted their minions smart?

  13. Uncle Dave says:

    Micr,
You may have hit upon something. The open carry folks do not identify with the oligarchs. Perhaps they can be persuaded to vote in their own interests.

  14. JAKvirginia says:

@Micr 2: Loved George! Still do.

They call it “wealth inequality” but it’s really “wealth inaccessability”.

@ Rick 5: Short, sweet and to the point. Nailed it.

  15. Don A in Pennsyltucky says:

The wonderful thing about campaign ads is that they foster confirmation bias. Last year in November the local TV stations were selling ad time so fast it must have been their equivalent of Black Friday sales. They were either “Don’t vote for xxxx because Librul” or “Support me because I’m a good conservative.” Rarely they mentioned their own party affiliation. The whole thing was like having Fox News on every channel except the Home Shopping Network or Turner Classic Movies.

  16. 1smartcanerican says:

The Kochs are not only trying to buy America, but they are also behind the oil and gas extraction in Canada, Alberta specifically, thus the need for the Keystone pipeline to move oil over the center of America to the Gulf Coast to export to anywhere but not for American use. The dirtiest product on the planet. Of course, the deal also includes the clause that if there is a leak in the pipeline, the Canadian company moving this product will not be financially responsible for the clean-up! Yet, the GOP really wants this to pipeline built. Even they do not seem to understand that the only winner in this boondoggle are the Koch brothers! There is nothing for
Americans at all, only the cost of the clean-up when their is a leak that could destroy the largest aquifer in the nation’s heartland.

  17. That amount of money can buy a hacker for each voting district to remotely fiddle with the results of each electronic voting machine.

    17
  18. 1smart, thanks for the tip. I have yet to hear about this from my Canadian family. Will have to go lightly about this when contacting them. Peace out!
