  1. Corinne Sabo says:

I grew up on ready bases. What’s the difference now? There was an anti aircraft gun about 200 yards from my bedroom during the Cuban Missile Crisis. What’s to fear?

  2. Ooooo! El Donaldo is speaking in another tongue – Yiddish! Hey, that ain’t ‘murican! I’m surprised that none of his sheep has divined that yet and called him out on it! Hey, what’s to fear? If he really is a good shepherd, what do his sheep have to fear?

  3. My wish for 2016 is that Donald Trump goes somewhere. Anywhere. Just so I don’t have to see or hear about him ever again. I was sick of him before he started this.

On the other hand, if he goes down in flames and takes all the RWNJs with him and leads to a Democratic landslide in at least 2/3 of the state elections, I could put up with that.

Never underestimate the depths of depravity that wingnuts will lead their followers to. The more outrageous the claim, the closer to wingnut gospel it becomes. Trump is just the latest rodent to lead the lemmings.

  5. Despite what they may think about themselves, I’ve found most ‘mericans are scared spitless of most imaginary monsters. Jews, muslins, atheists, any religion they are not, free (or any kind of ) thinking, gays, Trans, sex just to name a few. Cartoon#12

  6. Polite Kool Marxist says:

L.Long, Robert Reich wrote a piece that dovetails with your remarks about the imaginary ‘frights’ of some people. It is often referred to as misdirected anger; Reich refers to an ‘anxious class.’

“The anxious class feels vulnerable to forces over which they have no control. Terrible things happen for no reason.”

    http://jobsanger.blogspot.com/2015/12/the-misguided-revolt-of-united-states.html

The common us vs them meme the ‘anxious class’ falls victim to is divisiveness. ***If only*** we could educate them to the fact(s) that we are all together in so many respects, perhaps we could unify the 99.9% to rein in the excesses of the .01% and their lapdog Congress.

It’s worth many attempts to try to include the ‘anxious class’ in the discussion to help them stop voting against their own best interests.

  7. “…and may you not be paralyzed by fright.” The RKlan has become such expert fear mongers, which explains Trump’s meteoric rise in the polls. He’s brought the art of intimidation to a new level, which petrifies the “low information voters”. Time for the Democrats to take off the gloves and slam him with the Truth about Donald and what would happen if he became President.

  8. That’s a very good article PKM has referred to. It sounds like what I perceive is the anxiety of many Americans. “The Anxious Class” is an accurate descriptor.

I believe fear is the most powerful human motivator. Couple that with distorted information and one gets the Anxious Class. They don’t know, or don’t believe that they are more likely to be hit by lightning than by a terrorist. They don’t know, or refuse to believe that they have the political power to write and pass an amendment to the constitution that would greatly increase the fairness of elections while greatly reducing the power of money. They don’t know, or don’t believe that marriage for all is a totally benign law, while opening up the nation to all kinds of energy resource exploration is extremely dangerous.

Our best weapon, America’s Best Weapon is EDUCATION, EDUCATION, and lots more EDUCATION.

    Go America!
