Except ….

July 21, 2016 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Phyllis Schlafly, who I have been fighting since 1962, brought her 91 year old self to the Republican National Convention with the Missouri delegation.

For you youngsters, Phyllis was the face of the anti-feminist movement.  She thought being pregnant and barefoot was an honor and we women who wanted a career were going to be the downfall of civilization.  Phyllis herself got  career as a highly paid “inspirational speaker.”

Phyllis hasn’t changed at all

Schlafly, who has participated in every convention since 1952, told ThinkProgress that Trump is the candidate to best represent the needs of women from the White House. In fact, she said, there’s no need for a woman in the Oval Office at all.

“Our greatest presidents have all been men,” she said, “and they’ve been very good for our country.”

That’s true, except for when it’s not.

Thanks to Sandy for the heads up.

All the worst US Presidents have also been men – because all US Presidents have been men! But, then, Phyllis never has been someone dedicated to rational thought…

Phyllis, you senile dingbat, the worst presidents have all been men, too.

Name one president who wasn’t a man…GWB don’t count no how, since Darth Cheney was his master.

  4. Wow. The Repugnican convention really does bring out their best and brightest doesn’t it. Keep ’em comin. Swing states are getting bluer by the day.

  5. ScatFly is full of BS!!! There are 7billion people here! It will be some time before we NEED more! So ladies if you wish, you don’t need to keep popping out a quiverful or even 1.

  6. That loud-mouthed jackwagon should have taken her own advice decades ago: stayed home and shut up. Every time she speaks, she subtracts from the sum of human knowledge.

    6
  7. I wonder if she’ll have a moment of self-awareness at her deathbed where she realizes that everything she believed in was all wrong and that she spent all her life making other people miserable. Nah.

Remember the big fuss when the Texas Board of Education wanted to take out Thos. Jefferson and Cesar Chavez from history textbooks and put in Phyllis Schafly? One of my historian friends said, “Who’s Phyllis Schafly?” Exactly.

    8
  9. Ms.Schafly came to speak to t he monthly meeting of the United Methodist Women many, many years ago.
I asked her, among several questions, who was at her house taking care of her kids while she was telling us of the evils of the ERA. The UMW would have kicked me out on the spot if DH had not been the chair of the Pastor Parish Committee. She was a fraud then, too.

And… our greatest husbands have all been men. So why aren’t you with yours? Y’know… cooking… cleaning… being a good sex partner… all the things you’ve scolded other women for not being. Gee PS, do you ever listen to what comes out of your mouth?

    10
  11. Yes, she has always been muddled and always will be. She is the Erma Gluck of anti-feminists.

(Gluck? Google wanna be opera star with absolutely no talent who sings opera on stage in public – and was absolutely galaxies beyond awful but she could never hear herself.)

  12. Jodi devries says:

We can make fun, but the bible says be subservient to your husband. That counts for a lot of votes.

    12
  13. Crone: Yay! Did you get an answer from her?

I don’t get how someone who is such a hypocrite can be so “admired” by the right wing.

  14. Jill Ann says:

The very fact that ol’ Phyllis is still alive and kicking is apparently proof of that old saying, “only the good die young”. I have despised that woman since I was a little baby feminist, 40+ years ago.

  15. I would have bet the rent money that Silly Phyllis Schla-fly was rotting in the grave. I am saddened to discover otherwise.

    15
  16. Sh*tfly has been rotting from the neck up, inside out since 1963. Only thing still functional is that flapping mouth. She looks kind of “living dead-ish.” I detest her.

    16
  17. So this is Trump’s celebrity convention?

He is one step away from having to literally dig up celebrities.

Phyllis Schlafly, one of the Rethugs earliest original Flying Monkeys (who isn’t talented enough to be the Wicked Witch, ever).

  19. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Micr, that old ghoul Phyllis reminds me of one of the best lines from a book about the Viet Nam era: “ashes to ashes, dust to dust, let’s bury this mother and get on the bus.”

It applies equally to Dubya, Cheney, Rummy, the rest of the Shrub cabal and most snacilbupeR.

    19
  20. @PKM

    Gardens of Stone eh?

    20
  21. Polite Kool Marxist says:

Micr, yes, Gardens of Stone. Burying seems like an appropriate place for Phyllis and her heart of stone. Tommie Traitor Cotton supposedly walked around Arlington National Cemetery. Sad that no one smacked him with a shovel. Not that he deserves the burial of a hero, but an early dirt nap would suit him.

If I ever tire of the ranching life, driving a tour bus on a watering tour of snacilbupeR headstones has potential. First stop, Darth Cheney ….

Thought she was as dead as her thought process. LynnN is so on point with her comment re: “…having to literally dig up celebrities.” Talk about living in the past. She’s so 17th century.
