Do Not Laugh at Me Because He Was My Governor. He’s Now Your Secretary of Energy.

June 19, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Rick Perry, who did not even know what the energy department did before he became the secretary of the damn thing, has a new scientific theory about climate change.

Asked whether CO2 emissions are primarily responsible for climate change, Perry told CNBC’s “Squawk Box”: “No, most likely the primary control knob is the ocean waters and this environment that we live in.”

Ocean waters? Like they get hot or cold on their own because of … oh I dunno, whale poop?

Rick Perry doing scientific research this morning.

According to Professor Perry of the Texas A&M Department of Animal Husbandry, the other thing that causes climate change is “this environment that we live in.”

You mean like the CO2 emissions or fluffy clouds?

Here’s the kicker.

Being a skeptic about climate change issues is “quite all right,” he [Perry] said, suggesting that skepticism is a sign of a “wise, intellectually engaged person.”

That’s the first damn time anybody has ever accused Rick Perry of being “intellectually engaged”  and that crap better stop pretty quick or Ole Rick’s gonna punch … oh wait, he said it about himself.

Thanks to Rick for the heads up.

  1. Rick Perry must be personally responsible for a world filled with wise and intellectually engaged people, because so many of them are skeptical about the emissions that regularly come out of his mouth.

  2. Donna Anglin says:

I just had a frightening epiphany: I have listened to Trump and his people so long now that Perry no longer sounds like a junior high misfit. I now expect officials to have a 5th grade vocabulary and no sense of sentence structure.

    2
  3. I’d believe that quote more if it said “intellectually challenged” instead of “intellectually engaged”. And delete “wise” either way.

    3
  4. Yes. Hasn’t changed one damn bit. Still betting he bags that job.

  5. maryelle says:

Just keep him the heck away from the nuclear arsenal!

  6. easttxdem says:

Texas certainly has supplied the country with an embarrassment of political lightweights…Shrub, Rick, Louie, etc. Gotta be a bumper sticker in there somewhere…or a line for our license plates?

  7. maryelle –
Wait until a chemist tells Perry that uranium is natural, even organic. Found in the environment even before it’s extracted and fashioned into fuel rods and bombs. No more disposal problem.

    7
  8. RepubAnon says:

Uranium is natural, but not organic ( no carbon). Natural gas is organic, as is gasoline – at least to a chemist.

    8
  9. Skepticism about climate change is the sign of someone who is either not paying attention, flunked science, or has an agenda (i.e. hates anything Democrats say or is being paid by the fossil fuel industry). Perry is all of the above.

    9
  10. Let me clarify: climate change is like evolution– the evidence for either one is overwhelming, and increasing all the time. Rational and informed people can disagree about the details, but the fact that either process has occurred and is still occurring is really beyond argument by now. (And not teaching them both in schools produces dangerously ignorant kids who are not equipped to make good voting decisions.)

    10
  11. That’s a big piece of whale poop in the picture. I can see where it might change the climate.

  12. Opinionated Hussy says:

I have never seen an adult male wearing an outfit like that…..EVER!

    12
  13. Rhea: I d bet money that if you could find a repugnantcan who would give you an honest answer (I know, I know, I snort/laughed as I typed that) they would tell you that your last sentence states one of their main objectives.

    13
  14. Whale Poo!, of course this must be investigated. With decline in whaling there has been an increase in the whale population, er go an increase in Whale Poo. Just another one of them job killing librul conspiracies that will lead to the destruction of the Amurican Way of life.
One only has to look at all the jobs lost because of the international whaling treaties. Lamp and wick makers, corset makers, oil merchants, coopers not even considering the boat builders, sail makers and actual jobs on board the whale ships.
Rick Perry will have to do a few years or maybe decades of research to eliminate the increase in whale poo as the source of global warming before taking any action that might regulate the production or use of Petroleum.
Please don’t give the trump tools any more ideas.

  15. That Other Jean says:

I see Rick gave up the “smart glasses”. It’s OK–they didn’t fool anybody. He’s still an idiot.

    15
  16. maryelle says:

When/if pRick finally understands that climate change is real and caused by man, his reaction will be “Oops”.

    16
  17. P.P., I bet you’re right, but we’d have to get hold of an honest one who’d tell us the truth.

It’s like Trump saying maybe he won’t go to Britain until the populace there supports him (and won’t boo him in the streets). So, never, then.

    17
  18. don’t forget— weather conditions cause climate.
or is it the other way around? Prick Perry can ‘splain it all.

    18
  19. Worst of all is that he could be Agent Orange’s best cabinet appointment…

  20. WA Skeptic says:

And NO, do not wear leggings when you’re bowlegged. EWWWW

    20
  21. Tilphousia says:

Rick Perry is a mindless twit. Could be from exposure to organic uranium. Or maybe he went swimming and got hit with whale poo. Hard to tell. Putting that moron in charge of anything is a fool’s idea. He’d drop a lighted match in the gas tank to see if it was empty. Or not.

    21
  22. okie-dokie says:

Remember when George Bush Jr was appointed president? We tried to tell the country his successor, Slick Rick, made Shrub look like a Rhodes scholar.

    22
  23. Asked whether CO2 emissions are primarily responsible for climate change, Perry: “No, most likely the primary control knob is the ocean waters and this environment that we live in.”(sic) – Perry, admitting there IS climate change.

This is not going to go down well at the Oligarch’s Club!

    23
  24. Intellectual and Perry should never be used in the same sentence!

    24
  25. Lunargent says:

Well, Perry is right about the ocean waters and climate change.

Except that he reversed cause and effect.

    Oops.

    25
  26. oldymoldy says:

y’gotta admit, he did make a sort’a hafassed effort to sound sort’a sciencey-ish-ly in a way!
