Chuck and Nancy

November 28, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Okay, Sluggo woke up this morning and decided to pick a fight.

Chuck and Nancy ain’t playing that game.

In response, Schumer and Pelosi said that “rather than going to the White House for a show meeting that won’t result in an agreement,” they’ve asked to meet alone with Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) and House Speaker Paul D. Ryan (R-Wis.).

“If the president, who already said earlier this year that ‘our country needs a good shutdown,’ isn’t interested in addressing the difficult year-end agenda, we’ll work with those Republicans who are, as we did in April. We look forward to continuing to work in good faith, as we have been for the last month, with our Republican colleagues in Congress to do just that.”

Yeah, Trump, shut down the government during December.  Nobody wanted to see your damn Christmas decorations anyway.

The sticking point is that currently government spending on defense and non-defense is about the same: $549 billion for defense programs and $516 billion for non defense.

The defense hawks running the White House want to boost defense spending to $600 billion, which we wouldn’t need if the damn president would quit needlessly pissing off every other country in the world.

Democrats also want to insure that DACA isn’t ended, and that CHIP remains a top priority.

So Republicans are in the position to hurt children in all possible ways they can.  Merry Christmas, Trump.

Be social and share!

  3. We also wouldn’t need to increase defense spending if the Navy would quit driving their ships into other ships in an exceptionally large ocean, or using their jets to skywrite anatomical parts over Washington on the taxpayers dime.

I can’t imagine what the Navy’s new Geico (overnment Employees Insurance Company) or USAA (United Services Automobile Association, commissioned officers of other U.S. military services) bill must be without accident forgiveness.

I too want to hurt children. Specifically Donnie’s allegedly grown children whom the current forms of the Senate and House tax bills favor. One of the worst jokes on the rest of this is the “pass through” provisions under a guise of protecting small businesses like the trump Organization.

Then there are the “deficit triggers” sure to induce economic insecurity being touted as a fallback if the GOP ‘plan(s)’ don’t work. I have a better idea. Up the inheritance tax, then if we need revenue we could always expedite the process with a judicial hanging or two.

Rick, USAA is no longer the sole province of commissioned officers. Don’t know if it was court action or greed but the insured base has been significantly expanded to where the insurance is beginning to suck big time. Gone are the nice dividends due to the expansion into high risk populations.

Spending more on defense than on domestic needs is unsustainable.

    Just look up “Former USSR.”

Donald Trump isn’t President; he’s a place-holder, a wannabe, an empty suit with an ego problem. Ignore him and the country runs much better.

  7. These so-called Kristians have conveniently forgotten the poor, children, elderly and the sick and disabled. Brings to mind the Nazi practice of killing those who were sick, disabled and poor.
It is time to wreak havoc on those without conscience who are truly sick and disabled, the Republican ogres who seek to favor the ultra rich and penalize those of us who are rich in spirit, but lacking in the only thing that matters to them:$. Give to the DNC and your favorite candidates. It is time to sweep the filth out of our government.

  8. As someone pointed out in a letter to the WashPost this morning, killing off CHIP and taking away kids’ health insurance is not exactly a “right to life” move for the GOP.

  9. Here’s the real deal about Christmas at the White House:

There are a whole series of parties that total about 50,000 guests in all. At each of these parties, IMPOTUS and FLOTUS stand in a separate room in front of a fire place and have their picture taken with each guest. Each person gets about 10 seconds with the (un)happy couple. These are fun times for everybody EXCEPT IMPOTUS and FLOTUS, who have to spend several evenings standing for hours at a time with a flash going off in their faces every 10 seconds.

I have no doubt that neither one of them knew about this practice in advance and, if the government could be shut down before all this “merriment”, the Orange Moron won’t hesitate–just to get out of this ceremonial duty.

Well, my nanny just quit and the chauffeur because they couldn’t take our darlings to the regular doctor because we lost CHIP. But we still get to go get our pictures taken with the President. Once you get on their list, you’re there forever! I need to call Chuck and Nancy and see what they can do about CHIP. Our maid’s kids need it too.

  11. Marge Wood says:

p.s. Jane and PKM, I’m pretty mad at the Trump “children” making out like bandits off our taxes. Of course they learned it from their papa. They live in a different world from the rest of us.

  12. It’s pretty funny how the Rs are having a hissy-fit over Chuck and Nancy taking Trump at his word.

  13. Sharon Greiff says:

I don’t know how any sane BUSINESS person would object to this. Why would you meet with someone that tells you beforehand that nothing would be accomplished. You meet with the people that can actually do something. But then to take a picture of empty seats AFTER people tell you they will not be attending is quite pathetic.

  14. Charles, your view on the “prez” just lifted my day to new heights! You are right, of course. As for that dam tax package, if it goes through it will nearly kill me as I am in the earning group towards the bottom (under $50k) who will get super socked with taxes while the 1% won’t even hear, see or feel it. The SALT thing is really miserable. To disallow a deduction for those taxes in New York, Pennsylvania and so on is tantamount to blasphemy. Even congress critter Peter King does not like it and intends to fight it in conference.

  15. @Charles R Phillips

Before my retirement, I occasionally worked in close proximity to State and local elected officials and appointed officials. A frighteningly large percentage I described to my management structure as “empty suits” as I recommended we never respond to the RFP these agencies had written.

Drumpf’s public persona leads me to believe he is the emptiest of empty suits.
