  1. Let’s see how much of the state’s taxpayer money Mr Abbott will blow on an appeal!

  6. Congratulations to all who fought this restrictive law. I feel sure Juanita Jean will be celebrating tonight.

Romney says you can get state issued photo ID free. I guess Mitt has never been to Florida. Costs the same as a driving license which as I recall is damn near
    $50 now. Yep, poll tax.
Way to go Texas. Might turn Democrat yet.
Did you see the blurb about Jeb for 2016. I always thought Jeb was smarter than Dubya but anyone named Bush who throws his hat in the ring will find it tossed right back at him.

  7. How do we get a similar judge in PA??

  8. They want to get this to the Supreme Court, and hope to have the five Extremist judges (Scalia et al) completely over turn the Voting Rights Act.

If that happens, we will never get rid of Perry and Abbot, and all the rest.

They don’t want people who might vote against them, to be able to vote at all.

  9. Ditto, ditto. When I think of all the taxpayer’s money that Perry and Abbot have spent in court this past year trying to defend the bad laws the Potbellied Pols in our State Legislature have passed recently, frankly, it burns my butt. I am becoming more radical with each passing week…. which probably terrifies my Republican family and friends. Yep, they should be very afraid, because I am not the only wild woman who is sick and tired of this Republican BS.

About damn time. That ID law was a crock. Tired of my money being used to attempt to reJimCrow my state.

  11. What great news on such a HOT day!! Makes things just a tad tolerable… 😉

  12. This news made my day when I heard it. Some people just refuse to understand how difficult getting an ID can be for some people in Texas. As I remember growing up in a small town, you didn’t need an ID to open a checking account, write a check at the grocery or any other place of business in town. People knew you or knew members of your family. If you got into any trouble, they knew that too.

  13. Janice Stewart says:

You’re right, TexasEllen. It’s the same with abortion. They want it taken to the SCOTUS so the conservative court can throw out the Voting Rights Act and overturn Roe v Wade.
