Arkansas Republicans

January 04, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

What a damn mess in Arkansas.  It seems that some Republican members of the State House and the State Senate conspired to dump a ton of money on rightwing Christian colleges in the state.  For about $600,000 of taxpayer money to tiny Ecclesia College in Springdale, Arkansas, the Republican politicians got about $38,000 each in kickbacks.

On the Board of Ecclesia college is David Barton, key advisor to Donald Trump, and major contributor to Louie Gohmert. There is even a David Barton School of Political Science at the college.  Bribery 101 is a required course.

The Republican House Member, Micah Neal, pled guilty today and faces 20 years in prison and a $250,000 fine.

He has taken to Twitter instead of speaking to the press.

Yeah, he took a bribe but it did it in a very Christian way.

Expect Republican State Senator Jon Woods to be indicted tomorrow.  He describes himself as “a Christian Conservative.”

Man, I hate to think what the Republican heathens are doing in Arkansas is this is how their Christians act.

Asked about the news at a session with reporters Wednesday afternoon, Gov. Asa Hutchinson called it “troubling.”

Ya think?

Thanks to Alfredo over at the Dairy Queen for the heads up.

I don’t believe “God” is supporting the decisions of these lying, cheating politicians. They, and they alone, agreed to these kickbacks. Too bad the GOP couldn’t get rid of those silly ethics yesterday 🙂

  3. KKKristian graft is low-down polecat thievery just like all other graft, except they feel they can blame it on the Lord.

  4. One of the most revealing characteristics of a college or university is whether it is accredited by a national association. Accreditation gives an institution legitimacy academically and professionally by indicating that its standards are at least equal to others within that association. Ecclesia College is not accredited by AdvancED. Therefore, its standards are, at best, suspect. And that might explain why that college could so easily create a David Barton school of anything. Graduates from that school might have a hard time getting into “real” graduate programs or have their degrees accepted by professional organizations. Accreditation really does mean something, even for rightwing Christian colleges. So, it’s likely the school is a part of the scam.

Oh my! One more fake christian caught in an unlawful act. Just wondering if there are any true Christians left. And then they go crying to God. Not for forgiveness but cause they got caught.

  6. Some people think that because they’re “Christian” anything they do is by definition “Christian”– and they can probably find or twist a verse somewhere in the Bible to justify whatever it was.

  7. If you understand the right wing evangelical mindset, this isn’t surprising at all. For them, being “saved” means you can do anything you like, even if it’s a grave “sin.” All you have to do is to utter a quickie McRepentance prayer, and you’re “forgiven.”

In other words, for them, their religion is a license for the very moral nihilism they denounce in others. And of course, they’ll never see the irony or the moral squaloor in that, because their compartmentalized thinking is so deeply ingrained. Its why I have no respect for conservative evangelicalism.

Typical public/private “partnership” – why waste taxpayer money on providing services when it can be syphoned off into campaign contributions, kickbacks, bribes, bloated executive salaries…

  9. the GOP likes to proclaim itself the party of “family values”. what they neglect to point out is that the “family” in question is the Gambinos.

  10. “There is nothing in the Bible about taking kickbacks there fore it can’t be a sin” or so goes the logic of the the self righteous who believe they are doing the Lord”s work.
This is another case of the ends justifying means. A trap of logic that goes unnoticed by the victim. Examples thru out history have shown this, Auto da Fe’ burn the heretics at the stake to save their Souls, Massacre all before you in the crusades, Bomb throwing anarchist, Ethnic cleansing and Jihadist terror attacks. All of these acts stem from the same logic. Sadly this is the history of our species.
Hopefully we might someday learn that the means are the ends.
On another note, Micah if you go to the joint pray that you hold tight to the soap. You may not have lost all your sex appeal.
