Any Republican Who Does Not Speak Out is Complicit – UPDATED

October 18, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Reports that Trump blamed a soldier for his own death as his pregnant wife was on her way to pick up his remains almost tops his reaction to a gold star family at the Democratic National Convention.

His supporters don’t care. They, too, have no class, no empathy, and no boundaries to destructive behavior.

Take a moment this morning to imagine the Republican reaction had President Obama said this.

UPDATE: The Hill reports that Trump is mistaken about his claim that he’s the only president who calls all Gold Star families.

But The Associated Press found relatives of two soldiers who died overseas during Trump’s presidency who said they never received a call or a letter from him, as well as relatives of a third who did not get a call. And proof is plentiful that Barack Obama and George W. Bush — saddled with far more combat casualties than the roughly two dozen so far under Trump, took painstaking steps to write, call or meet bereaved military families.

  1. Trump to widow–” He knew he could get killed, That’s why I didn’t go. I’m smart and yellow. And smart yellow people don’t get killed fighting for their country.”

Now of course traitor trump claims that “it’s a lie and I have proof!” He doesn’t know or care. He lies so often he can’t remember all of them. It only is he a foul mouthed liar but a proven coward and draft dodger. This will haunt him forever. No one will forget or forgive. Especially the military, those surperb men and women who put their live in danger for our country. When did traitor trump do anything for anyone but traitor trump. May he die screaming in agony. And alone.

  3. U.S. Rep. Frederica Wilson was on the phone on The View just now – she said what upset the widow of Sgt La David Johnson the most was that DJT never referred to her husband by name – only referring to him as “your guy”. Wilson was asked what Mrs. Johnson said in response to the president’s call was ‘he never even said his name’.

  4. s says— thank you for that. I am in love with that Lady.
A lot of us want to cuss him out.

so – when does everyone guess the republicans will begin hearings on the death of these heroes?

There are many words of comfort Donnie should have chosen to share with the family of Sgt. La David Johnson. But no, he couldn’t even draw on his own experience as a husband or a father to speak with Mrs. Johnson to share a few words of solace for a grieving family.

Further in low Dotard45 style, when caught in a lie, Donnie keeps on digging his special hole. The manner in which he cravenly chose to invade General Kelly’s privacy set a new standard in low, even for Donnie. Someone from JCS needs to pay Donnie a gloves off visit to explain the errors of his ways to him that leaves no room for misunderstanding.

  7. So now I’m wondering; is it a common occurrence for Congresspersons to meet with and accompany constituents who’ve had a family member KIA? I’ve never heard of it before. But I think it’s a great idea. I think every time a service member’s body is shipped back home, a Senator or Representative from their state should be required to meet there with the family. And to answer any questions the family might have about the necessity of the mission, barring classified info. It might help dull the chickenhawks’ appetite for war.

  8. Jane & PKM says:

Lunargent, the military has specific protocols to honor our dead. Most of the protocol is designed to both assist and protect the grieving families. There are chaplains available, if requested. In protecting the family, we mean protecting their privacy, too. With the widow of Sgt. Johnson, no doubt Rep. Wilson consulted those around Mrs. Johnson and her offer of support was accepted by the family. Services are at the discretion of the family; unwanted politicians would be gently or not so gently corralled away from the family.

    9
  9. Rep Wilson explained her close personal ties to the Johnson family to Meghan McCain after McCain berated her for revealing the contents of the call. Rep Wilson had known La David since he was born, had mentored him, had mentored his brother, …….

But I like your idea of having the congressperson of the affected family meet with the bereaved.

  10. All I can say is, that I can’t directly say it here.
I’ve been cautioned and censored a number of times here before so I won’t stretch JJ’s patience again.
However, y’all might translate this: $##%%^^%$@@#$%%^&%%$%^&&^%$##%^*&^^$$# that worthless POSSOB…and his minions and followers. Finishing with a dull guillotine…

    11
  11. Tilphousia, you’re wrong there: *nothing* will “haunt” this dotard forever; he has neither the brain nor the empathy to give a flying rat’s ass (sorry mama) about anything he does, anyone he hurts, or anybody’s opinion of his actions. As long as his minions cheer him on, he’s sure he’s right and the rest of us are wrong, and that’s all he needs.

    12
  12. I saw the View segment, Meghan McCain did the expected deflection for Trump. I really can’t understand her, she is so Trumped up that right before the congress woman segment she was deferring to Trump over her father in the latest argument Trump is having. She has ‘dranked the koolaid’ for Trump.

    13
  13. Trump says today he never told the widow of a soldier who was recently killed, “he knew what he signed up for.”

Guess Today-Trump doesn’t like what Yesterday-Trump said, just like the rest of us who find it appalling.

    14
  14. That buck stops here thing does not interest tRump. Whatever stops at his desk in the way of money had better have a helluva lot more zeroes attached to it that a buck. But what can you expect from the draft dodger in chief? My God, those bone spurs were so bad all he could do was play tennis!

    15
  15. slipstream says:

Let us pause to remember Trump’s pre-election promise (June 2015):

“I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” Trump, 69, tells ITK. “I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off.”

And then let us compare what he actually did the weekend after four US special forces soldiers were killed in Niger:

“Over that weekend, as the identity of the fourth soldier was disclosed publicly and more details emerged about the incident, Trump was golfing and letting it rip on Twitter about Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Bob Corker (R-Tenn.), the NFL, North Korea, Puerto Rico and, again, alleged media bias. But a president who revels in providing color commentary on the news said nothing about what happened in Niger for 12 straight days — until Monday in the Rose Garden of the White House, where he was asked by a reporter to explain his uncharacteristic silence.”

    That’s right: golf. Again.

  16. Jane & PKM says:

Sandridge, that’s plagiarism. Your list of “edits” is a verbatim copy of the list removed from my first 3 drafts to final reply.

Now the steam is out of our sails, maybe we can address a “proper” note to the Congress varmints who need to be at work drafting articles of impeachment for Dotard45, the national disgrace.

    17
  17. Let’s be clear, Trump’s statement says he calls families of KIAs if and when he feels like it. He no doubt thinks heroes don’t get killed or captured.

    18
  18. The limitations of this person’s character are well defined. I am past being aghast by anything he does.

What I will be working for and watching for is a regime change, starting in the next election cycle (from local to national). The kvetching needs to stop and the energy needs to be channeled at the great blob on non-voters.

The apathy is so great that I wonder if most would be upset if told they could not vote in future elections.

    19
  19. JAKvirginia says:

    So… he lied?

    With every breath, dear.

    20
  20. I really want Republicans, and especially Donald Trump, to quit weighing in on we Gold Star Families and veterans.

My heart aches for the Johnson family. They have joined our group, a group none of us ever wishes another person becomes a member of.

    21
  21. How many times do we have to state it:

Donald J. Trump (Sr.), POTUS 45, is a scumbag.

He is only interested in serving himself, and only has his capacity as (perhaps) the world’s greatest con man (and Putin’s designated wrecking ball) to his (dubious/disgusting) credit.
If he wasn’t protected by the powerful rapey scumbags that are afraid of having their own statuses jepordized, we might wish for an end to his misogynistic, racist, orange hued stench…
