All You Need to Know

March 20, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Trump

The, er, uh…(urp), President of the United States says he based his charge that the former President of the United States “wire tapped” Cheeto Tower on an assertion made on Fox Noise.  Doubling down, he then asserted that British intelligence did it at the former President’s request, also heard on Fox Noise.

Both charges were completely discredited by the Director of the FBI and the Director of National Intelligence.  There is ZERO evidence that either of these claims are true.

Two conclusions:

  1. The President of the United States uses Fox Noise as his prime source of information.
  2. Fox Noise is not a reliable source for ANY kind of information.

That is all you need to know.

Be social and share!

If the blind lead the blind, both will fall into a pit. Matthew 15:14.

  2. 3) The President of the United States has the authority to ask the intelligence agencies if such wiretapping took place. That he apparantly did not do so indicates that he either didn’t care enough, did not want the truth, or does not trust those agencies.

All three of those options are disturbing in their own way.

  3. Perfectly spelled out. Thanks.

  4. This whole situation is so insane and frightening that I can’t imagine why we are not all running around screaming with our hair on fire. It’s for me literally (yes, I know what that word means) unthinkable that this (insert every adjective, adverb, insult, description of moral degeneracy, you know the drill) guy is anywhere close to the presidency. I can’t imagine what went wrong. I really can’t. And I’m the most cynical person I’ve ever known and even I had no idea that our country was this deranged. I just don’t get it.

  5. Faux News, flawed and biased. Not saying that they lie all the time nor even 95% of the time.
Now if they announce that sun should rise in the east tomorrow, considering their track record, borrow a compass, rise early and confirm the story.
If a woman makes her living in a house of ill repute one might assume they a “Lady of Negotiable Virtue”. If one works for Fox assume liar without self respect that will do anything for a buck. This could be applied to the entire Murdoch organization.

  6. I assume that anything out of Donnie’s mouth is a lie unless it’s confirmed by a rational and well-informed source. And I thought that points #1 and #2 were generally known already.

lumpkin, I agree. Every morning I do that thing you do when you wake up– who am I, where am I, who is he, do I have all my limbs, etc.– and at some point I have to remember that Donnie is president and the whole shebang is headed straight to hell. It’s a wonder the neighbors don’t complain about my “WTF!” every bloody day.

    6
  7. Another part of that morning routine is remembering the day of the week and date. Somewhere around 2013 that last number got so far out of kilter with what I thought it ought to be that I gave up on it. I may write down that it’s now 2017, but I refuse to believe it.

Of course he is. He’s so indebted to Putin (as is XX/Mobil) he’ll kiss any part of the anatomy available.

    9
  10. Arakasi, another option is that Trump has no idea what the President can or should do.

Unfortunately, too many voters also use Fox Noise as their prime source of information. I’m not sure what the cure is.

  11. That Other Jean says:

LynnN, too many voters also have no idea what the President can or should do, or Trump would never have been elected.

WA Skeptic, I strongly suspect you’re right. It’s what you get for appointing a CEO as Secretary of State: Tillerson has no concept of the national interest, nor any idea how to serve it. Neither does his boss.

  12. Lumpkin and Rhea: Months ago I made comments here to the effect that this hateful rhetoric we’ve seen emerge is disgusting, but bringing it out in the open was ultimately gonna be healthy. “Lance that boil”. But I also said that it was gonna be an ugly trip.I still believe that. Today’s proceedings are a good sign. Donnie’s been shown to get his info from Fox (as opposed to the most powerful intelligence apparatus in the world, which is supposed to be UNDER HIS CONTROL). I believe his dumbassery is becoming more apparent to his followers daily.

    12
  13. P.P., I’m afraid you credit his followers with too much. From what I’ve seen so far, they’ll believe him– and Fox– over the “lying lamestream media” no matter what. He reinforces ideas they already have, and also they don’t want to feel like idiots after admitting that he’s a disaster and they voted for him.

The only good thing that could happen is that he shows himself to be such an incompetent ass that enough of the GOP desert him to destroy their one-party government and maybe force him out. Even so we’d be stuck with Pence.

  14. The Manchurian Couch Potato.

I just keep hoping, every day, that the world keeps turning. Since MCP took office, it seems stunning that the country is still here.

Mendacity tempered only by incompetence must be it, because Trump and his acolytes seem to have no vestiges of humanity.

  15. treehugger says:

CJ has also said that he gets his news from National Inquirer. I notice the big cover stories on this rag and another of its ilk in my grocery store indicate there is solid evidence that Obama is responsible for wiretapping Trump Tower AND that Hilary is under investigation for something. They’re still stuck on the Clintons, who have (for the time-being anyway) receded out of the public eye everywhere but in these rags. My suspicion is that Trump’s faithful also get their news from these rags. They must sell to somebody, or they wouldn’t make any money, right?

    15
  16. Elizabeth2 says:

Did somebody on Fox News actually suggest that Obama was wiretapping Trump Tower? If so, is the committee going to invite whoever suggested it to testify as to where he or she got that information? That might be interesting.

  17. Sam in San Antonio says:

There’s a story out today that Trump’s “legal scholar” Andrew Napolitano has lied too much even for Fox News and is off the network. Lying too much for Fox is an awfully high bar to clear.

  18. WA Skeptic says:

I saw the same huge cover photo on the Nat’l Enq; it was all I could do to restrain myself from screaming “LIAR” and throwing the entire bunch of garbage on the floor.

This rag was impeached for being a liar in court against Carole Burnett many years ago; I guess they think they can get away with it now.

    AAARGH!!!

  19. One thing that seem so obvious to me but is a subject of debate.
Complaining that the cj was being bugged. While he was a candinate he had Secret Service protection on him pretty much 24/7 so why did was it necessary to “surviel” his campaign when SS agents were ubiquitous? wouldn’t it have just been easier to ask the SS what was happening? Granted it may have violated some rules but since the R’s have established, during Clinton impeachment circus, that the SS agents can be compelled to testify that they would less seious then involving the FBI or NSA since the SS agents were already on the ground.
