Jeb Hensarling

October 31, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

The Texas congressvarmint who almost since-handedly destroyed every banking regulation we got under Obama, is now ready to join Corporate America and reap his rewards while he can.

The powerful chairman of the House Financial Services Committee, U.S. Rep. Jeb Hensarling, a Dallas Republican, announced his retirement from Congress on Tuesday afternoon. He is currently serving his eighth term in the House.

I guess they are saving the fact that he’s evil as hell and never met a puppy he didn’t kick for his obituary.

It’s a strong GOP district, but I am told that the Democrats have a good candidate in Dan Wood.  Miracles can happen, my friends, and nobody knows what the hell it’s gonna be like in a year.

I am just tickled pink to get rid of Jeb.

No Way. Unfair? No Way, Fox News.

CNN MONEY is reporting that things aren’t hunky dory over at Fox News.

Some employees at Fox News were left embarrassed and humiliated by their network’s coverage of the latest revelations in special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian election meddling, according to conversations CNN had with several individuals placed throughout the network.

“I’m watching now and screaming,” one Fox News personality said in a text message to CNN as the person watched their network’s coverage. “I want to quit.”

Downside: Fox is bad, it’s not going to change, and we’re stuck with them.

Upside: Some people at Fox recognize that.

Keepin’ ‘Em Dumb

This is the front page of my local newspaper.

I am not jacking with you, and they didn’t mean it in the really ironic kind of way.

Click the little one to get the big one.

They have no idea who Manafort, Gates, and Papadopoulos are.

I’m keeping this to cover the dish of crow they will have to eat sooner or later.

They are praying that Barack Obama’s second cousin twice removed gets arrested for DWI on the day Trump is removed from office.

Delirium

I subscribe to a Republican newsletter that originates in Texas.  It’s generally entertaining but more so today.

Yep – that’s the news from yesterday.  And emojis. I think Fox was covering emojis.

Remember How We Thought John Kelly Was The Guy Holding It All Together?

October 31, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Honey, if Mueller is coming coming after Trump with intent to barbeque, then Chief of Staff John Kelly should at least be the potato salad.

White House Chief of Staff John F. Kelly on Monday called Robert E. Lee “an honorable man” and said that “the lack of an ability to compromise” led to the Civil War, once again thrusting himself into the public spotlight on an emotionally charged issue.

Robert E Lee was not an honorable man.  He was guilty of treason, and he did not behave like an honorable man in other areas of his life.

“I would tell you that Robert E. Lee was an honorable man,” Kelly told Ingraham. “He was a man that gave up his country to fight for his state, which 150 years ago was more important than country. It was always loyalty to state first back in those days.”

You ignorant, self indulgent piece of uneducated crap.  No, it was not that way. Many truly honorable men like General Sam Houston left their state and the governorship when their state was wrong.

What is this idea about “lack of compromise”?  How do you compromise slavery?  Free 3/5th of all slaves?

Okay, Kelly, you’ve got me staying up nights again. Lord have mercy, it’s the uneducated leading the damn dumb.

Checking Her Rights at the Schoolhouse Door

October 30, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Both Klein School District and Cypress School District require their students to stand and recite the pledge or be punished.  Both district are north of Houston.

Two students have fought for their right not to pledge allegiance to a flag because they feel, “We live in a country where there isn’t justice and freedom for all, and so I’m not going to stand for a pledge that says there is.”

They are both African American and both are female.

Oddly, in a journalism class one of the students was told to change classes to get another teacher.

At one point, a guidance counselor suggested that the student switch out of a journalism class whose teacher had insisted she stand, according to the lawsuit. This year, a teacher told the teenager’s class that those who sat through the pledge were comparable to Soviet communists, pedophiles and Islamist extremists, the lawsuit said. Classmates harassed the teenager online and in person, including as recently as last week, Mr. Kallinen said.

The other was suspended for refusing to stand while in the principal’s office.  The school secretary told her, “This is not the N.F.L.” The student was told that if her mother did get to the school within 5 minutes, she would be escorted off campus by police.  She is 17 years old.

It seems to me that teachers should be the bulwark of education and open mindedness.  Maybe we should have teachers be required to read the Bill of Rights every morning or at least quit messing with students who have read it.

Thanks to Sam in Minnesoooota for the heads up.
