Okay, This Just Popped Up On My Phone

Yeah, but kneeling at a football game to protest police violence is still disrespectful to the military.

The Washington Post has the story.

However, We Do Have A Designated Dying Area In The Parking Lot.

October 18, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Congressvarmint Diane Black of Tennessee has an idea.  She believes that hospital emergency rooms should be able to turn patients away because that keeps health care costs down.

Do we need to hold a contest where you bet which party she belongs to?

Diane says that she’s an emergency room nurse so she knows that people come to the emergency room because they know they can’t be turned away.  But Diane, a nurse, knows all medical issues and who should be where and why.

Diane, Honey, if you’re so smart how come you didn’t notice that you’re wearing a blonde football helmet on your head?

Diane says that people using the emergency room for sore throats just clogs up the system.  This woman apparently did not hear what her godforsaken damn party did to Medicaid.

Diane, listen up, we told you from the beginning that this is what would happen if you cut Medicaid.  People don’t have anywhere else to go because they can’t afford a private doctor.

So your solution is to let them die in the parking lot or to wait there until they are much, much sicker and so they can pass your test of what is required to deserve medical treatment.

Diane, go brush your hair because something hiding in there is eating your damn brain.

Let’s Celebrate Those Bump Stocks!

This is the damn truth but you’re still not gonna believe it.

A Republican candidate for governor in Georgia is giving away a “bump stock,” the rapid-fire gun modification linked to the Las Vegas shooting, in a campaign contest to highlight his opposition to new regulation on the devices.

State Sen. Michael Williams, who is positioning himself as the most pro-Donald Trump candidate in a crowded GOP field to succeed term-limited Gov. Nathan Deal, said the contest is a celebration of the Second Amendment.

Okay, okay, we can’t take about common sense gun control because it’s “too soon.”  But, we can have a  raffle to celebrate an instrument of mass destruction.

And the Republican Party is still claiming that they are sane, responsible and productive citizens.

If you want to let him know how classy you thin he is, here’s his email address:

Thanks to everybody for the heads up.

Any Republican Who Does Not Speak Out is Complicit – UPDATED

October 18, 2017 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Reports that Trump blamed a soldier for his own death as his pregnant wife was on her way to pick up his remains almost tops his reaction to a gold star family at the Democratic National Convention.

His supporters don’t care. They, too, have no class, no empathy, and no boundaries to destructive behavior.

Take a moment this morning to imagine the Republican reaction had President Obama said this.

UPDATE: The Hill reports that Trump is mistaken about his claim that he’s the only president who calls all Gold Star families.

But The Associated Press found relatives of two soldiers who died overseas during Trump’s presidency who said they never received a call or a letter from him, as well as relatives of a third who did not get a call. And proof is plentiful that Barack Obama and George W. Bush — saddled with far more combat casualties than the roughly two dozen so far under Trump, took painstaking steps to write, call or meet bereaved military families.

Trump threatens McCain saying, “I fight back and it won’t be pretty.”

McCain chuckles and responds, “I’ve had tougher adversaries.”

Today’s lesson in schoolyard taunts:  Don’t bring a wussy to a war hero fight.

City of Charlottesville Sues “Militia” Screwballs

October 17, 2017 By: El Jefe Category: Alt-Right Racists, Fun With Guns

Remember our reporting about the “militia” group American Freedom Keepers who waltzed into Little Cambodia last month with a racist motorcycle club, running out FEMA and other workers and declaring themselves in charge?  Remember how we wrote about how gun crazies often try to recast themselves as dewy-eyed do-gooders when their gun-slinging gets them into a world of trouble?

Welp, things are not going well for AFK, as they’ve been named in a lawsuit filed by the City of Charlottesville and others for the riots that they made worse by their gun toting presence in August.  AFK was named among other groups, especially the one that calls themselves the Pennsylvania Light Foot Militia, a bunch of gun nuts from Latrobe Pennsylvania led by “Colonel” Christian Yingling (yeah, sure), whose image was all over the media that weekend declaring himself and his crowd in charge.

The filing is pretty clear and certainly damning of the actions of our friends and the other private militia groups who decided to take over “peacekeeping” (translation: protecting violent racists) at the time.  NOW, instead of begging for money to burnish their image for their “charity” work in Texas, they get to beg for money for lawyers.  They’re calling themselves the Charlotte 32 as if they’re some poor persecuted group of innocents.  They also love themselves some Latin.  Their new motto copied from Wikipedia is Si vis pacem, para bellum, which translates roughly to “If you want peace, prepare for war”.  It seems like a pretty silly motto, being that they started the war in Charlottesville by showing up and trying to take over.

You can bet they’re pretty worried, too.  The lawsuit states:

“In language that dates back to the Virginia Declaration of Rights of 1776, Article I, Section 13 of the Virginia Constitution provides that “in all cases the military should be under strict subordination to, and governed by, the civil power.” A section of the Virginia Code is dedicated to prohibiting “unlawful paramilitary activity,” as specified therein. See Va. Code Ann. § 18.2-433.2. And another state statute forbids falsely assuming the functions of any peace officer or law-enforcement officer. See id. § 18.2-174.”

Oh, and it gets better:

“As the United States Supreme Court has long recognized, ‘Military organization and military drill . . . are subjects especially under the control of the government of every country. They cannot be claimed as a right independent of law.’ And for good reason: ‘[T]he proliferation of private military organizations threatens to result in lawlessness and destructive chaos.'”

That lawlessness certainly happened in Charlottesville with one death and many injured.  This suit makes for pretty juicy reading for 79 pages.  Among other things, the City of Charlottesville seeks injunctive relief to keep these dangerous screwballs out of Charlottesville in an effort to take their city back from racists and weirdos.

And it’s not a moment too soon.
