The King of Crony Capitalism Asks People to Die For Him

August 31, 2015 By: Juanita Jean Herownself Category: Uncategorized

Rick Perry in South Carolina at the God Rally.  Listen to him say, “Load Up!” and “What are you willing to die for?” and then call for Christian soldiers.

With half a decent lawyer, we could have him committed.  It’s 2 minutes and 18 seconds of loco eyed crazy.  Stay with it until the end but turn down the sound a little because he’s foaming at the mouth screeching.

White Boy Happenin’s

Okay, I saw another Trump bumper sticker.  Youngish guy, tall, shaved head, immediately lit up a cigarette when he walked out of the store.  Click the little one to get the big one.

It’s in his back window.

Here’s something else on my mind.

Fort Bend County, where I live, has been named the most diverse county in America.

We have 6 district courts and 4 county courts at law.  Of those 10, none are minorities and only 2 are women.  All are Republicans.  (Note: We do have a Judge Morales but he’s only Hispanic at election time. The rest of the time he calls himself an Italian.)

So, one of the judges resigned for health reasons.  And who does Governor Greg Abbott appoint?  A white male assistant DA.  A highly qualified Asian American female applied for it but nooooooo, we are going for a world record of white boys.

I’ve asked a couple of the judges if they can understand why an African American female might think that maybe she won’t get a fair shake when the district attorney and the entire judiciary is white.  They look at me like I’ve lost my mind.  “We’re fair judges,” they respond.

Hummm … I keep going, would you feel the same way if you were accused of a white collar crime and all the judges and DA were black?  The response I get?  “It wouldn’t bother me, as long as they are qualified.”

Geezeee, the word “qualified” didn’t come up until I said black.

And no, let me assure you, you would not feel okay about it.

I will put my soapbox up now.

And He’s Just The Man To Do It. After All, His Last Name is Hunt.

South Dakota Republican State Representative Roger Hunt has a solution for all your gender related confusion.

HUNT_ROGER_2015The proposal from Rep. Roger Hunt, R-Brandon, would rely on official birth certificates and visual inspections for determining gender rather than allowing people to decide and declare their gender on their own.

“This is South Dakota. We haven’t adopted the East Coast culture. We haven’t adopted the West Coast culture. We maintain our own culture,” Hunt said.

I dunno.  How ’bout instead, we check you for turquoise shirts?

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

You Go, New Mexico!

New Mexico Republican Secretary of State oversees elections and campaign finance and has the role of state government ethics regulator.

So what better person to spend money from her campaign account at casinos?

Republican Secretary of State Dianna Duran has been indicted for embezzlement from her campaign account.

Screen Shot 2015-08-31 at 9.05.55 AMAccording to the complaint, Duran withdrew a total of $147,641 in 2013 and $282,807 in 2014 at Buffalo Thunder Casino, Camel Rock Casino, Casino Apache, Inn of the Mountain Gods, Ohkay Casino, Ruidoso Downs, San Felipe Casino and Sandia Casino from her personal accounts.

The largest chunks of the withdrawals, totaling $95,700 in 2013 and $150,256 in 2014, were at Sandia Casino.

a01_jd_29aug_Casino_ripped-paper-640x471The New Mexico Attorney General is a Democrat.

So, Republican Secretary of State Duran is yelling, “Political!”

Well, in the strictest sense, it probably is.  If the Attorney General had been a Republican, we never would have heard about this.  I can damn promise you that.

Thanks to Brian for the heads up.

Progress is Sloooooooow

Jefferson Davis, the President of the Confederacy during the Civil War, died at the age of 81 in 1889, still a hateful, mean, and totally incompetent sumbitch.

Once Lee surrendered, plans were made to move Jefferson Davis and his staff to Havana, Cuba.  He tried to escape while wearing women’s clothing because that’s just the kind of guy he was.  It didn’t work.

UnknownAlthough he was guilty of treason, he fled to Canada for a while after being ensconced in officer’s quarters with the family wasn’t good enough for him.  After he returned he was offered the job of the first president of Texas A&M University but he turned it down.  Probably because the job didn’t include slaves, or women’s clothes.

I have some mild sympathy for Robert E Lee because he was a decent man who faced up to his wrong doings.  He took his punishment without whining and tried to help his beloved South recover.

You wanna know how much sympathy I have for Jefferson Davis?

Diddle squat.

The University of Texas will finally, oh thank you dear Lord, be moving the statue of Jefferson Davis off their campus.  It was the best thing that happened in Texas this weekend.
