It’s Out.

January 01, 2012 By: Juanita Jean Category: Uncategorized

I know a lot of you have waited patiently, so you’ll be glad to know that Glen Maxey’s book about Rick Perry is out and you can buy it on paper.

Your favorite hairdresser/unblogger/eyeliner maven wrote the Glen Maxey cover story for the current edition of OutSmart, which is kinda odd considering that I am neither.  You can read about it here.  Or, better yet, click here to see how it looks in real life.

The cover looks adorable and you’ll be happy to know that Glen went out and bought a Brokeback Mountain jacket just for the photoshoot.  After all, if Rick Perry did his anti-gay ad wearing one, the least Glen could do is remind people that Rick Perry likes to dress like a gay cowboy.

You can either buy it from Amazon as an electronic or paper copy, or from Glen directly.  Glen says:  Mail orders: $19.99 + $1.64 tax+ $1 postage = total $22.63 and email me your address to glen@glenmaxey.com  Send checks or cash to Glen Maxey P O Box 2505, Austin 78768. I trust you and you trust me (I’ll mail immediately).

If you tell him that you know Juanita, he’ll even autograph it for you.

Let me assure you that the book is far more entertaining than the interview.  Interviews have to be serious.  It’s the law or something.

  1. Thanks Juanita!

  2. Susan. You are special! The questions posed reflect a professional interviewer probing a very delicate subject. You have a talent most of us “hanker after”.

Great interview, Susan. I just linked it on Facebook, especially so my boys out in Arizona are sure to read it. And I simply love Mr. Maxey’s new jacket. Pardon me while I keel over in a laughing fit.

A little light into dark corners is refreshing. Glen Maxey did a good thing, and did it very well when he made the distinction between gay and a man who has sex with other men.

Great interview. Thanks. Will share it here and there.

  6. I’d love to read the interview, but *how*?? That’s got to be the weirdest-formatted website I’ve seen, unless there’s a secret I don’t know about.

  7. At least on the iPad, it was very readable. To get to the last page, I had to shrink the pages down and flip through.

Miss Juanita Jean, there is so much football on the teevee that I don’t always get to watch Rachel (keeping peace in the traditional household here). If Glen hasn’t already been on, will you give us a, er, heads-up?

Glyn, I sure will. Many of my friends end up on Rachel Maddow, but none of them (cough, cough, Bob Cavnar) will steal me one of those Rachel Maddow mugs. I’m truly beginning to question the value of their friendship.

  9. Outstanding interview. Like it so much, I’m gonna have to get me that book. One of the things I’ll use my Christmas Amazon gift card on.

When Mr. Maxey gets to meet Rachel…. please let us know.

Thanks again, Miss Juanita…. for some outstanding journalism…. and thanks also to Mr. Maxey for some courageous investigative reporting…..

  11. I think Mr. Maxey is onto something. I’ve read where Icky is now talking about his campaign’s “bumps and grinds”. Maybe it’s just me, but I think those are strange words to use about a campaign unless something else is on what Icky would call his mind.
