We’re Eyeball High in Irony

Y’all can scamper over to the Texas Tribune and see Rick Perry whine that the federal government isn’t sending money to him over the Texas wildfires.

“There is no consistency with this administration,”  he says.

Ain’t that just priceless?

“Wash off your warpaint, Son, and holster your pistol. You’re running out of room on the dance floor to be talking consistency,” Juanita warns.

  1. I’d really like to know who he would have been begging money from if he had succeeded in Texas seceding from the nation.

  2. This is what happens when you get money from the feds and you don’t use it for what it was intended. According to FEMA they have already approved 25 fire management assistance grants, including 19 grants in April. Apparently federal aid covers 75% of the state’s costs for emergency reponse work, and that fires are treated differently from tornadoes or hurricanes. Perry is just looking for the federal government to pay 120% of everything so a little winds up in his pockets or those of his friends.

  3. Perry has little knowledge of governance this side of the divine right of kings. “‘Cause I said so” is not a recognized form of government in the US.
