Rally In Austin Today To Save Texas Education

The rally in Austin today to fight Governor Rick Perry and the Republican dominated Lege over Texas education was a tremendous success.  The crowd was at least 11,000 brave souls ready to stand up for Texas education.

As promised, I have pictures.

The first picture I have is for our friend and customer Bud Malone.  Bud’s going through a pretty rough patch right now and he needs all your good thoughts.  He wanted to come to the rally but he couldn’t, so This One’s For You, Bud.

And this was my personal sign that I brought.

Comparisons were drawn

There was some cussin’

And some simple truths —

A little Texas Bragging turned upside down –

Some stabs at the clown —

Some adorable children —-

And enjoying the water after all that work.

And it’s Texas so we have some fine-lookin’ fillies with great shirt —

And some new friends.  That’s Karen hanging out with the wrong crowd.

A sweet momma telling the truth —

Some folks with a lot to say —

But the one you had to line-up to take a picture of?  This one.

    Bless you for going and for putting these wonderful photos on your site! The “Come and Take It” shirt with the pencil almost brought tears to my eyes. A couple of years ago there was a banner in our local 4th of July parade that had that saying but with an automatic weapon on it. This is MUCH better and definitely more meaningful. I’m glad there are people who care more about our kids’ futures than about the right to have a concealed weapon on campus. Great post!
