I know this is going to come as an enormous shock to the customers at Juanita’s Beauty Salon, but I have been tapped as the person to tell you that Glenn Beck is liar.
Juanita just can’t bring herself to say his name. She calls him Buffalo Bob and his fans The Howdy Doodys. “None of them will ever hurt their backs totin’ their brains,” she suspects.
It appears that Beck lied right there in front of Abe Lincoln, God, and a slew of Doodys.
During his speech, Beck claimed, “I went to the National Archives, and I held the first inaugural address written in his own hand by George Washington.”
Not so much.
It was an eyebrow-raising revelation and certainly an original image: Beck cradling the actual words of the first president. But would the persnickety gatekeepers of the nation’s historical legacy at the National Archives allow some talk show bombthrower to put his mitts on a rare (and fragile) artifact? The answer, it turns out, is no way. Beck was not telling the truth.
Good on America for not trusting Buffalo Bob with the good china, pointy scissors, or Washington’s first inaugural address.
And the Doodys will claim come hell or high water that through divine intervention, Glenn Beck truly was able to hold Washington’s inaugural address and the keys to the magic hot rod in his hands.
What a shock. Beckerhead lies? Say it ain’t so.
And I may just have to steal “none of them will ever hurt their backs totin’ their brains”. Classic.
1Maybe he touched the glass of the cabinet in which it is enshrined? By that reasoning, I’ve held the Gutenberg Bible in my hands, a copy of which is on display at the Ransom Museum in Austin.

A great American like Beck, who as we all know is fair and balanced, or the truth, with its well-known liberal bias?
3According to Keith O he also lied about the Washington Monument. I understand Faux avoids the truth like medicine, I also understand they don’t necessary care if people know they are lying or have an agenda counter to what all other news organizations adhere to – but I can’t comprehend is why anyone sane would watch the station or buy a book or listen to a word anyone of them says?

5What he meant was that he wrote down the street address of the place where Washington spoke and held THAT address in his hand. Just about as likely as holding the speech.
6You people are living in the past. President Bushcheney proved years ago that truth is irrelevant.
7Being from Buffalo myself, I’ll refer to him as “Lonesome Roads” Beck, it’s not quite as obscure as calling him after Father Charles Coughlin, another evil broadcaster.

Don’t forget, he is the head of a prestigious university.
